All "estimates" quickly veer into worst case scenarios involving months of unforeseen work and expense with no attempt to spend time trying to define base scope of work with potential cost and time vulnerabilities. I'll cast no negative aspersions as to quality of the work that this shop is capable of (looks like they've done some good work, personnel appear to have the skills)- just seems some of that past success may have created some arrogance on the part of the front office where they are only willing to work with customers with an open, unlimited checkbook.
