When I spoke with the receptionist I requested a more experienced stylist and I could wait if someone wasn't available. Lucky I got in the same day. I saw Christian. She is obviously very professional and knows what she is doing. We first had a consult. She listened to what I was describing for matching my current hair color. The color match was perfect. The shampoo and style were exactly what I'd asked for. They use joico hair color (I may not be spelling this wring) color line. I regularly use Davines but did not notice a difference. Lastly I'd like to comment on the Salon itself: Contemporary , not overcrowded. Not too big you feel lost in the bigness but not too small to feel like an outsider. Best of all CLEAN. I tried this place several months ago. I got a keratin treatment that was left in for far too long and the heat used in the process was way too high. I believe the person that did this was named Paige. She was really focused on talking with the other stylists rather than keeping track of my timing. I even asked multiple times since I sat there for so long and she sort of blew me off and said "it's fine". My hair was so damaged as part of that process. Any styling tool I use even on the very lowest setting causes my hair to become crunchy and it just clumps together. Can't even comb through it. I spoke with a real stylist at another salon and they have given me tips for trying to work through this but the damage is done. Evidently a lot of conditioning treatments are needed and waiting for the damage to grow out. No, I did not go back in or call and tell them about this as I wanted nothing to do with this place. I have since spoken to a few people I know that tried this place once and they warned me not to go. Wish I would have spoken to them before I went there. read more

I'm pretty low maintenance with my hair and tend to go about a year in between cuts. Ashley did an awesome job and I'll for sure be a returning customer! She listened to what I wanted which was to just cut it just long enough for a ponytail, she explained her thoughts and processes, and did exactly that. She wasn't pushy about anything. The receptionist booked me for the wrong MONTH. Meaning that I drove 30 minutes to be turned away because she's 'new'. Manager was not helpful either and honestly just seemed unapologetic. Would not recommend. read more

First off my first time going to the salon. Was booked with a sean I was a new client. Had long hair past my shoulders asked sean to give me a long angled bob hitting at the shoulders. Well sean did not listen to a word I had asked for. My hair was not out from being up the night before he very gently comb through my hair which is very very thick. Then gently washed my hair which was the only experience of going to the salon that was halfway decent. Then he proceeded to take 2 1/2 hours to cut style blow dry my hair. As well as curling my hair which I said I wanted a wash Shango style to wear I went home and tried to brush out the curl! I now have very short bangs when I saw him cutting into the front of my hair is when I should've stopped him immediately but I was trying to trust him as a stylist that was my first mistake. He was more into talking about himself than the interest of his clients I would not recommend the salon to anyone who wants a certain specific style. I even brought a picture to show that Sean and he completely ignored any of my input of how I wanted my hair to look. I LOVE this salon!! I have had a few bumps in the road to finding a salon in this area that fit my needs, and REACTIONS is the one!!! From first wandering in, I was made to feel comfortable. I was accommodated immediately and left extremely pleased. I have had everything from a simple trim when my locks were long to very sassy short cuts recently. I've had traditional as well as "fun color". Susan has done an amazing job with anything I've ever asked for. This salon thankfully specializes in creative color! All of the employees are professional and go above and beyond for each other's clients. Very family friendly, and a group of gals who are willing to go out of their way to please their clients. I got my hair done here back in March, and truly the biggest mistake I made. My stylist was nice and all the staff were nice as well, but everything from the cut to the color, oof. First let me say I went in wanting a change but didn't know what I wanted(color wise) I listened to her suggestions and we agreed on the color. The color it ended up being didn't even come out close to what we decided on ‍ it was still a nice looking color so I didn't complain. The cut wasn't even at all (I didn't notice until a few days later because she curled my hair, and I didn't wash it right away) it was very choppy and wasn't at all what I wanted. The color looked nice but the process took over 3 hours and my hair did not at all have that soft beautiful feeling that you would normally have after a salon visit. I'm not even sure how to describe it, it was rough, kind of a waxy feeling and brushing it actually hurts. 2 months later and it still hurts, it is a frizzy gross mess and I can't even use my hair straightener on it because of how messed up it is from getting it done at this salon. Oh and the pricing was completely outrageous!! I have never ever spent that much on a cut and color, and pricing wasn't even discussed until she was about to wash my hair out. I'm sorry, but if your going to charge someone over $300 for a cut and color, it should be discussed before anything is done. What if I couldn't afford that?! Luckily I had my credit card on me and was able to use that. read more

I've used the same stylist for over 10 years (in Maryland). I loved her so much that when I lived in FL, I waited to get my hair cut when we went home for the holidays and such. My stylist of 10+ years moved to NC so I can't use her anymore. Being new to the area (Navy wife), I was worried about finding some place/ someone I trusted. I went to Reactions last night and Chelsea did my hair. She colored and cut it. I LOVE IT! She was amazing and wonderful! I will definitely be back! Love love LOVE this salon! I booked an appointment with Justine last week for a root touch up/overall lightening of my patchy blonde hair. I haven't been so happy with my hair in years! The color was exactly as I wanted, and the results better than I had hoped for. A few days after I got my hair done, it started to get a little brassy in some places, which is to be expected from previously dyed hair. I normally would just wait it out and use purple shampoo, but I'm going to a wedding next weekend and need it looking perfect! I booked another appointment, and I was able to get one for the next day. Justine fixed up the little brassy spots (for FREE, by the way) and my hair is absolutely and perfectly how I envisioned it. I will undoubtedly be coming back to this salon for as long as I live here. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere is great, and the services are incredible. I wish I could give them zero stars. I decided to try this place out cause its close to my house and seemed nice. I am looking at my haircut (the day after) and I can't help but feel very upset. The cut is terrible! I have to iron and style it for a long time just to make it look decent. I can't wait for this mess to grow out so I can get a decent one. I could have cut my hair better myself. SOOOOO PISSED I requested a wash, cut and style for me and my daughter. The cut for both of us is terrible. I went home and called the manager and told her about my experience. How the girl used a razor to dry cut the front of my hair, that she did not give me a proper cut/style, how she didn't measure and cut anything. I went back the following day for a more "experienced" stylist to cut my hair. She also dry cut my hair and it looked okay after she had blow dried it but now that I've washed it (the following day) I can most definitely tell a bad haircut. Its blunt and has no definition. The ends look terrible! I paid for a terrible haircut ($63), tipped ($20), and tipped again ($20) after I went in for my "blending" with an "experienced" stylist. I wasted my time and money at this place. I'm writing this review because I HATE MY HAIR RIGHT NOW. THE CUT IS TERRIBLE. I cannot began describe how upset I am. The staff was amazing, but the hair color was not. I came in with dark brown hair wanting to transition to dirty blonde over time. They suggested I start with heavy highlights and come back in a month for more. I wasn't thrilled when I left, but the freak out started when I got home. I noticed a lot of it looked really grey :( I called the salon and they allowed me to come back in and they put a glaze over it for free which made it look a little better. I was happy with how accommodating the staff was, however, I will not be returning. I also went with a friend that day who went in for the same thing and her highlights turned out like chunky highlights from the 90's. She was very unhappy and ended up going home that day and putting a box of hair dye over it... Staff is great, but we weren't happy with the work done on our hair. read more

Horrible! The girl blow dried my hair first and then cut it at first it looked nice when she straightened it but when I washed out my hair was it was all over the place it had no style and there's long and short pieces. I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Today was my first time going to Reactions. I wanted to add color to my hair but I wasn't sure on what color and how much color. I walked in and got a consultation with AJ. He helped me decide what I wanted to do and what would look best. I then came back for my appointment and he colored and cut my hair. I love the results and will definitely be returning. All the staff are professional, friendly and very welcoming. Cost for services isn't cheap though. If you need your hair done every 6 weeks you might have to pick up a part time job to pay for it, haha. read more

I Had driven 35 mins and paid a toll just to get there I was 10 mins late and they had booked someone else for half an hour after me and said they couldn't take me. I just walked out. The stylist (Paige) has cut my hair several times now. First time she cut my hair, the cut was exactly what I had asked for and she did a great job. It went down hill after that. She didn't seem like she was interested in doing a good job the next two times she cut my hair and put little time or effort into it. Won't be going back to her. read more

Went in for a color service to cover my grey. The stylist was nice, thoughtful and made a good attempt at getting me the right color but the end result did not turn out good. She initially asked me if I would be okay with her taking a before and after picture and I said ok. However, it was obvious by the end of the appointment she was also not happy with the result because she didn't take the after picture and she left my hair wet so I didn't have the opportunity of seeing what my color looked like until I got home and dried it. Finding the right hair color can be tricky so it doesn't bother me that it didn't work out but it does bother me that she left my hair wet and didn't bother with making it right even though it was obvious she knew it was wrong. The client she did prior to me looked great so I know she is a good stylist. Sometimes the color just doesn't work out but the way it was handled wasn't right. Needless to say, she did not take the after picture for that reason! She said she didn't fully dry my hair because it would cause fly aways, however been getting my hair colored for over 10 years now and always walked out with dry hair and no fly aways. With that said, I still recommend giving this salon a try because everyone else's hair but mine looked great! read more
