There a few nice B&B places there and it's accessible to the lakeshore attractions. It was by chance that I wandered down her street and I stayed, talking to her and looking at everything she had painted in the two room studio. She is an abstract artist. I was struck by one of her large acrylics, she told me the story behind its creation and I finally bought it, my first original acrylic! Her work has changed over the years, as do the style or subject matter of most good painters, but I enjoy her eye for color and shape. Check it out, if only just to experience her world and meet a very cool woman.

I gather it's now popular for apple picking orchards to have roller coasters or petting zoos, and I have no idea why. They don't have those things here. They have a tractor that will take you in a circle around the property, and they sell hot, freshly-fried apple cider donuts that are really great -- they tasted more like apple cider than any cider donut I've eaten. By the time we got home, our son was asking when we could go back. We plan to make it a yearly tradition.

The property is expensive and the staff was welcoming and told us where to go for the best batch at that time. Not all berries ripen at the same time. I went the weekend of July 4th and it was rather tame around 9am when I arrived. (No queue). But after finishing the pick, it was quite long queue as they weigh. Credit card is extra 3% fee. If you bring your own container to bring home it'll be cheaper as you use their white buckets to pick and weigh, but you need a container to take home. They do sell 5lb and 10lb boxes to take home for a nominal fee (I think it was $1-2)
