No one could muster a "hello" or even any acknowledgment that I was there. While the selection was nice, it all comes down to service. I f I wanted to browse on my own, I could have looked at eBay or Amazon. Everybody is struggling these days, but treating a potential customer with such disregard will never work. Won't be back.

While visiting Damariscotta the first bookstore you may stumble upon will be Sherman's. While exploring the town afterwards we spotted signs mentioning a used bookstore that lead us to this spot. They have lots of parking available right by but also easy to walk to from Main Street too. Inside honestly feels very much like an old school library. The staff also made us feel welcome and the vibes were comfy. While we did not browse through every single book, the space is so large you could spend hours upon hours to find that hidden gem! They also had some sections where books appeared to be very cheap. I did overhear and saw online that everything is donated and all proceeds support the Skidompha Public Library located in town. What a fantastic way to support the library while also giving those visiting here a chance to get some good book deals! I would certainly call this one of the better used bookstores I have visited. We did not buy anything but love the fact it's all by volunteers and use it as a way to support the public library. Worth taking the small detour off the beaten path!

Yes,…read moreit's oh-so-small and maybe not the cleanest, but a) their playlist is genuinely amazing and varied (you'll find yourself singing along, thinking to yourself 'I haven't heard this in ages!', or maybe even discreetly pulling up Shazam [...you could just ask, y'know]) b) the vibes feel like an indie record store; you'll feel welcome here, like you could genuinely take your time looking through every vinyl available without being rushed or pressed to purchase something, c) the staff are cool (but not in the "cooler than you" way like at other Bull Mooses), they're helpful, they're patient, and they seem interested in talking music (from current day pop to 1970's soul and jazz to melodic techno).

Pro-tip though, whether for yourself or someone else, a gift certificate to this place is Ah-mazing. There are two ways to record shop: scour yard sales, antique stores, etc. with fervor, or go see the professionals that have already found great records in likely great condition and pay more for that service. Enterprise obviously falls into the latter category and 4 records, at least for what I usually find, can easily get to $60. Now, if you have a $40 GC and only need to drop $20? Awesome. Hell, maybe I'll just buy myself some $30 record because I can. Now, some people say the owner can be rude, and I'd probably use the word curt, but even that was probably 1 or 2 occasions (we're all allowed to have bad days) and I've never found him to be overtly rude. He's also pretty old school... like he's probably literally been in the record selling/collecting business for at least 30 years. He's very knowledgeable and has always been happy to assist me, but know that this is not Newbury Comics or Tower Records (do those even exist anymore?). More than that though, I think his collection is unrivaled in Portland. Visit the other guys too. The more records stores that exist the better and they'll certainly have things he doesn't, but if you can only visit a couple, make sure this is one of them. Hoping Enterprise lasts a lot longer in Portland.

Eclectic but sparse inventory for sale, and mostly overpriced. I pulled two LPs that said "ask for…read moreassistance" on the slip covers, so I did, and asked the owner to open them so I could inspect the vinyl's condition and ensure the inserts were included. He complied but also seemed annoyed, saying over and over that he always graded accurately. Sorry dude, but I don't know you, have never bought from you, and am not going to pay $$ for used vinyl without inspecting it first. Given all the alternatives available these days, I probably won't return.

You'll find this inside the Rock City Cafe in the back area, though mind you the cafe opens before the bookstore does. They had a good variety of genres as well as used and new books. Any book lover could definitely find a hidden gem here during their browsing. Prices seemed good including a rack outside marked as on sale books. A perfect idea to open this bookshop in the same building as the cafe. Browse and find that next book you want to read before enjoying a coffee and breakfast or lunch. Worth a visit!

They do have their own parking lot so you should be able to find a spot no issue. If you have visited any of the locations you know it's more than just books and they have lots of gifts and random assortment of items. Book wise you will find old classics as well as trending and new releases. As soon as you step in you are greeted with arguably the section worth your time browsing the most, which is the books on sale. You can find some great deals with many books being under $10. Also throughout the store you will find a bunch of staff recommended book selections. My wife loved browsing the books and could have spent a long while here! It's a well set up bookstore with a good amount of space so even if pretty busy shouldn't feel crowded.

I enjoy chatting with him and he is very cool about sharing knowledge and or assessing what you may have to sell. I think he has hired an employee to help, she is awesome. Firstly you will likely be greeted by the most adorable little greeter dog Stella (she loved scratches and attention). Even worth visiting just to meet her! Book wise and overall vibes wise though must be given credit as well. Overall small space but well decorated and well utilized despite the smaller size. Being an older building some spots the floors creek but just adds to the character of the store. They had a great variety on shelves of many genres and a table with many of the popular and trendy books of now. Books were well priced from what I saw. They do also have some goods that are non book related including less chemical based healthier versions of soap, body wash, laundry wash, etc. My wife snagged a book she has been wanting to read for quite awhile.
