We liked one fireplace in particular and discussed it's features. Next we had a representative stop by our home and measure the space. We were then told that the fire brick had to come out and an electric box had to be installed - and they don't do that work. We said we would like to proceed. They said ok. I talked with 3 different fireplace masons and 2 electricians. None would do this work because of the unknowns - so I did the firebox prepping myself. It took numerous texts and emails, (at least 20 as I got different answers every time,) to determine exactly what needed to be done. I finished the work in mid December. Since we were told that the equipment would be in to install in 6-8 weeks, in mid January I sent an email asking when we might see installation. I was told that they had not yet ordered it. They then told us that they need 1/2 down on it to proceed. There was no mention of this before then, in spite of a whole bunch of emails. So at that point I began looking for other fireplace services. We found a better service to use in DeGraff, OH that was cheaper, quicker, more responsive and had what we wanted. (And they would have done the fireplace prep work.) I don't recommend this place for redoing fireplaces. Communication is terrible.

I then was given a time when someone would stop by and inspect my chimney via drone. The time came and went and there was no contact from CCS. I then reached out again and was told everything looked fine and there were no issues. I asked if there were any pictures of the chimney they could share. I was told no they didn't take any. I then went back and looked on my outdoor camera and noticed that the truck arrived at my house at the day in question but no one ever left the truck. No drone ever exited the truck. Nothing was actually done and 5 mins after the truck arrived, the truck left. I then pointed this out to the owner/operator and all communication stopped. I would stay away from this company before investing thousands of dollars with them as you obviously cannot trust what they say. Beware.

A year ago, I had several companies come out to help…read morefix the extreme cold happening on the 1st floor of our 1929 built brick and concrete structure home. I was a bit frustrated because they were offering cookie cutter solutions/services without really identifying the issue(s) causing the extreme cold. I called Dr Energy Service (DES) and was fortunate to have the owner, Chris Shepard come out and provide an energy audit. As you can imagine with the age of our home, he discovered there is no insulation in the walls, ceilings of the 1st floor and to make matters worse, our furnace is located in the attic, which means the solution must push heat down to the lower level! This is a unique situation which called for unconventional solutions. Chris listened, educated , and offered budget friendly options, including those that did NOT use their services. He was a man of integrity, patience, and knowledge. We were very cold, and he could have taken advantage of the situation and sold us all kinds of services; but he didn't! That spoke volumes and this year I called him back and together we determined a plan of action to warm our home. On 12/31, the crew (Jordan, Tyler, Cameron, Brayden, and Jake) came out to perform the work. The guys were punctual (8:15am), professional, courteous, and worked non stop the get the work completed in a timely manner. They kept me in the loop of the work planned and a few minor changes to the plan, that often come with an older home. They cleaned up, actually left things cleaner than when they started (Don't judge me lol) I am extremely happy and I highly recommend DES and hopefully when you book your project(s), you will be lucky to have the awesome crew I had at your home.
