Dishonest & Unprofessional: From the beginning, Jackie has had a passive-aggressive & condescending attitude. To make things clear, I have always taken good care of the property. The house is a "reverse floor-plan" & it sat vacant for months before I moved in. I have the house professionally cleaned every two weeks, I don't have pets, I don't have anyone living in the house besides my child, I don't smoke, I haven't drilled into the walls & I have treated the property with respect. But I'm now realizing there seems to be no point. Through these two years of renting, there's been different instances where Jackie has been unprofessional. Before I signed my lease, Jackie made condescending comments about me having to rent a studio for legal reasons while I was in the middle of separating from my abusive child's father. My child's father is an attorney, & we were battling in court at the time while I was trying to move & find a new place for myself & my two-year-old. Jackie would also repeatedly ask me, in a condescending way, how it felt to "finally live in a house," & "not live in that little room" as if I had never lived in a house before. In reality, I have lived in brand new houses my entire life as a Vegas native & I had previously lived in a house with my child's father in QueensRidge. While I was signing the lease, Jackie also made comments about my "low credit score," even though both my credit score & income easily exceeded the rental requirements. After I moved in, the washer malfunctioned & flooded the downstairs. Jackie immediately accused me of leaving the house with the washer running. I had to send her a video showing that I had actually been upstairs when I heard the water & that I ran downstairs to unplug the washer. She then blamed me for an already-ripped green cover over an outdoor water pipe & questioned why I wouldn't "cut that ugly green bag," even though the bag came with the house & it's sole purpose was to protect the house's pipes. She has also repeatedly texted me pictures of my trash cans that she took from inside her car & complained about the cans being kept inside my private courtyard on the side of the house, even after I explained that the odor from my child's diapers is too strong to keep the cans inside the garage. I also told her my neighbors put their trash cans outside too. Jackie then claimed that the HOA had sent letters complaining about the trash cans. However, when I specifically asked her to send me pictures of these alleged HOA letters, she never provided them. Throughout these two years, I've complied with these specific situations and other situations. Just recently I had issues with the sewer pipe & the washer downstairs. The sewer pipe behind the washer had years worth of mold & damage, while the washer also had mold. The whole house was smelling like a sewer, even when the washer wasn't running. Jackie then sent out a technician & he offered to fix the sewer pipe & washer for $75. The technician also said twice on camera (I have cameras in the house) that he spoke to Jackie & that she was responsible for the $75. Next thing I know, Jackie said I owed her over $300 for the "damages" even though the technician said I was not responsible, due to the sewer itself being part of the home's structure. Now Jackie just sent me a notice to perform a lease condition for "damages" and pay $270 or I'll be evicted. It's clear that Jackie is being dishonest & is determined to nickel and dime tenants over any little thing. At this point, I'll exercise every legal right, and deadline available to me until my lease is over--just because I can. Decent tenants are hard to find, but apparently Jackie has yet to realize that. Instead of appreciating a tenant who pays rent, keeps the home professionally cleaned & takes care of the property, she seems determined to create unnecessary conflict. Based on this pattern & her past reviews, I wouldn't be surprised if Jackie finds something else to blame me for when it comes time to return my security deposit. Renters don't want to deal with a hostile property manager, & I'm sure homeowners don't want to hire someone who drives good tenants away. Message me if you're interested in screenshots. read more

It has been several years since we used this company, and it is still the worst property management experience we have ever had. Over the last 15 years, my family have been renters and landlords, so we have used several property managements companies throughout the western United States, and we will never patronize this company again. From 2009-2010, my family was temporarily relocated to Las Vegas. It was during this time that we rented a condo in Summerlin with Tony as our property manager. At first, things were fine. But then, about 6 months in, our water heater burst and flooded the garage. When we called to report it, we were intially blamed for the damage. When it became clear that sediment buildup was to blame, the issue was dropped, but we were still surprised that they had tried to blame us for it in the first place. Then, in the summer of 2010, our AC went out. We knew that it was likely the thermostat - which is an easy fix - but we were told to wait for a technician. 2 days later, in the hot Las Vegas heat, we still had not seen a technician. At this point, we called the owner and she gave us permission to go to Lowes and replace the theromostat ourselves. It took 5 minutes and it fixed the problem. When the technician finally arrived several days later, he took our thermostat off and replaced it with his own and declared that the problem was fixed. The next issue we had came a few months later, when our unit was being forclosed on. Tony tried to get us to come in and sign a new year long lease, which he would back date to make it look like we signed it before the property went into forclosure. This would block the forclosure, but it felt a little too much like fraud for me to feel comfortable. We told Tony we would be moving out at the end of our lease, which should have been in December. We later found out that the December ending date had been crossed out on the lease and a new date in January had been written in. Because of this, we lost our deposit. The final issue happened a few days after we moved out. Tony called me and asked if we had kept any keys to the propery. I reminded him that we had placed all keys and garage remotes on the counter as we were instructed and he said that he could not find his key to the unit and wondered if he had accidentally given it to us. He then said that he would need to hire a locksmith, since he could not get into the unit to do his final walk through. Later, we were sent a bill for the locksmith and for them to re-key the unit. I hired a lawyer to send them a letter informing them that we would not be paying for Tony losing his key, and we heard nothing more about the matter. Now, I am looking at properties in the Las Vegas area as potential investments, and I came across an ad for this company. Now that I see how many other innocent people they scammed, I am wishing I would have ignored my lawyer's advice and sued them. Do not use this company. read more

So far, so good! The property I'm renting has been transferred between property management companies twice and it's now being managed by Real Estate by Design. Heather has been very on top of things, getting back to us quickly when we email or call her with questions. My favorite part: rent is payable online AND tenants can make maintenance requests online as well. No more driving all over to drop rent off or having to call for maintenance issues. Yay! read more

Heather came and took pictures of my condo and got a nice looking ad together. She was sick and that caused some delays but worked hard to get my condo rented and kept up good communication with me. Also, she seems very knowledgeable about handing everything in way that complies with the law and protects me and gives me the best chance to get my place rented. Keep in mind when you hand over your deposit check that you will not be getting it back. Left the unit spotless, without a doubt cleaner than I found it and was charged a "cleaning fee" and "tile and grout fee" absolutely absurd. Not to mention the "key and lock fee" even though the locks weren't changed when I moved in. I thought by using a property management co I wouldn't have to deal with the bs you encounter when renting from apartment communities but in this circumstance I was wrong. My family and I visit Vegas frequently (a couples times a month) and we are looking to purchase a family vacation home and a condo for myself. Jackie has been amazing! We wanted to get a better idea of what the Vegas market was like and how much bang we can get for our buck. Coming from Hawaii, we are used to everything being so expensive that we wanted to buy the first house we saw because everything here is so cheap! But Jackie has been so helpful with the whole buying process. She showed us a bunch of places just to familiarize ourselves with the different communities and to see what we like and we don't. She has been patiently working with us and has gone above and beyond. They also manage properties and I actually know people that rent from them and I have heard only great reviews. I will never rent from this place again and I'm encouraging all of my family and friends to never step foot in the building! They take weeks for simple repairs. then they tell me they're coming and never came. i missed 2 full days of work for a simple repair because their handy man is so unreliable. they charge fees that were not mentioned during the signing of the lease and make you pay before you can cut your ties from these people. i would advise anyone to stay away from this place! there are plenty of other companies! read more

I would give zero stars. Do not expect your deposit back. I called and gave 30 days notice and asked if she needed anything in writing. She acted like we were besties and said to consider my phone call the notice. She also acted all excited for me that I was purchasing a home. When I called back 30 days later asking for the walk through she acted as if we had never had the conversations one month prior. She stated she had no memory of congratulating me on my home purchase or me giving notice. Don't trust them. They are crooks. They are very manipulative and I should have sued them. The home was spotless when i moved out. Much cleaner than when I moved in. When I first moved in they had to clean the carpet again because I found pet urine stains in one of the upstairs bedrooms. If you're already living in one of their properties take pictures and put EVERYTHING in writing. If your thinking about renting from them RUN the other direction. There are many fair, aboveboard, places who will not rip you off. read more
