Real life farm and nursery school has absolutely amazed me! They provide a fun environment while nurturing individual needs. It is refreshing to see from year to year the same staff. It shows that staff are well trained and want to be there and are happy to be there! My children come home each day content, excited to share their day and want to return each and every day. This facility provides amazing age appropriate activities that extend past real life farm to make it fun for the kids. I have paid triple at other facilities and wondered where the money goes. It is great to see that the money is invested into the clean facilities, the staff and the students. Thank you Real Life Farm and nursery school for your dedication! Our Daughter spent the week with you last week and on Friday when she came home she had a small rash on her arm.  Over the past 5 days her rash has grown in severity to a full blown reaction.  I called you on Monday to discuss this and my concerns were dismissed.  I want you to know that we have taken her to several doctors because she has gotten worse and worse every day.  You can see the pictures attached.  Finally, she was diagnosed with Poison Ivy or Poison Oak and she got it at your facility last week.  We hope no other children were exposed to this at your facility, but we expect that you inspect your grounds and eliminate all such poisonous vegetations. read more

We have been going for the fall weekends for 20 years. There is no better place to take the family! The kids get to feed the baby pigs and goats, ride a horse, have a family hayride and play in the barn with all of the animals. The barn is beautiful by itself--3 story with an elevator, basketball hoops and games on the top floor. Each campsite has it's own campfire to cook or just enjoy family and friends. My grand kids started going at 1 year and younger the the ones now in late 20's still want to go every year. What a fantastic family tradition. read more

While the idea is fantastic, to not have some sort of calm and order in the barn around real live animals during events really sits heavy. Pretty sure my son was holding an almost dead baby duck. (It was then I said that's enough, we're out of here.) It's uncomfortable to watch mayhem and children unsupervised with baby animals. The teenage birthday party going on, and the girls screaming next to restrained dairy cows - really? No one there to kick anyone out or put a stop. it was heartbreaking watching the animals in distress. We will not be back for any event, regardless of the organization we belong to putting it on. read more

Just went today with my daughter's preschool! It was awesome! We started our day riding horses with Farmer Ian. The little pony was so cute! My girl rode Blue, all the horses were friendly. We then got to play for a little while, they have a playground. Farmer Don then met us in the barn to play with and feed the animals. We held bunnies, kittens, chicks, baby goats (kids) and ducklings. Bottle fed baby goats and pigs. Hand fed grain to cows, goats and sheep. Then the kids all got to milk a cow. We finished up the day with a hayride. We left tired, happy and a little sunburned. Farmer Don was so good with the kids and very funny. I think I may have to check to see if they have any summer programs. I grew up on a small farm so this place brought back a lot of great memories! read more

My 5 year old daughter went with her class here on a field trip yesterday and I feel REALLY bad for her. They had the rabbits, goats, sheep, cows, etc. that you would expect. Even a charismatic "Farmer" that would talk to the kids. *The Pros: The animals looked healthy I only had to pay $9 *The Cons: They lectured for over an hour to 5 year olds that just wanted to play on the playground I thought it was irresponsible that "anyone" could handle the animals (ducklings, rabbits, pigs..) *The laughable: We went on a "hayride". There were no bails of hay to sit on, just scattered hay on the floor of the "wagon" (plywood). We went in circles for about 25 minutes viewing DEAD TREES, PILES OF ROCKS, A PILE OF OLD EQUIPMENT and the highlight of our ride... THE DEAD CAT! (the 2nd runner up was being pulled through the "toilet" area of the field) **THE DANGER** They had 8 horses, 6 big 2 small that the kids could ride in the circle, pretty normal.... Then, when cowgirl whatever her name is said "I NEED 10 ADULTS TO VOLUNTEER", I got nervous! She had 1 ADULT VOLUNTEER THAT WAS LIFTING CHILDREN ON AND OFF THE HORSES She had 8 ADULTS THAT WERE NOT TRAINED TO WALK THE HORSES WITH MY CHILD ON IT And 1 ADULT TO OPEN AND CLOSE THE GATE NO BELTS NO HELMETS NO INSTRUCTORS NO ORGANIZATION I ALMOST didn't let my daughter ride, and in fact, her horse was "stubborn" and the "Cowgirl" had to run over and help the parent leading her horse!! I was MORTIFIED! This place is a lawsuit waiting to happen! They're lucky nothing happened to MY child! read more

We wanted to like this camp and sent our kids there for a week or two for two summers. We called it "Lord of the Flies" camp because there is no structure, which has its benefits, but makes it hard to make friends and fit in. My son felt certain youth (probably due to lapsed supervision) mistreated the animals and that was the end of this camp. They refuse to go back and one of my kids even faked being sick to avoid going, which has never happened before or after. read more

Both of my youngest kids love Real Life! They've been attending summer day camps here since 2013. My 17 year old son wants to volunteer here now. My 10 year old daughter makes new friends each week and gets so much joy from caring for the animals. ‍‍They take the kids on the farm (6+ yrs old) swimming at the Summit in Canton 4 out of 5 days a week! ‍Every Thursday is field trip day. My daughter generally brings home a kitten for the evening and takes it back the next day. Best kind of pet highly recommend trying this place if you're looking... 'Real' Life does mean they're exposed to the weather elements most of the day, baby animals and all the issues that may come with them and they get dirty. Makes me want to be a kid again. read more

I came here for my sons preschool field trip. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more. The interaction you get with the animals is amazing. I held a baby goat and sheep and lead a horse. It was a wonderful day full of great memories. I can't wait to go back. read more

From the open house experience where my daughter got to ride horses (her dream come true) to having her attend one week of summer junior camp, the experience was amazing. This place is a secret gem. I'm 46 and only heard about it this year. Everyone who works here are so sweet and helpful. I can't think of 1 bad thing to comment. She wants to come back for another week of camp. Suggestion? How about over-nights for the kids in the barn. That would be great. read more

We just went to the Real Life farm for a field trip. Farmer Don had a fun filled day planned for all the kids and parents with activities like a hay ride, pony rides, milking a cow, feeding goats, holding baby animals, and playing on various playscapes with a lunch break in between. Despite the fact that there were multiple groups attending and it was very busy they kept it pretty organized. Everyone had a blast. I would have given it 5 stars except I was a bit nervous for the frightened baby ducks and kittens that the staff allowed to be held by small children in such a crowded and hectic setting. I didn't think that was too safe for the baby animals so they should probably reconsider allowing that. But otherwise it was a fun, exciting and educational field trip and we will definitely return soon! read more

Wonderful family owned farm with outstanding education. They are very nurturing to young kids. My son has had a wonderful experience there.

I am so disappointed in the care of the animals at Real Life Farm. I feel the animals are there just for entertaining kids and are handled by so many people. With rabbits and cats being very stressed out by excessive handling, this was so heartbreaking to see. I feel horrible that this is what they endure day after day. I also will not have my son return there because I do not want him to learn that animals are for us to use. I am all in favor of riding horses, etc, but I felt the horse rides were so unsafe. Parents were asked to volunteer with no instruction or guidelines. The poor cow that gets milked...day after day after day - spending all of her time just locked up for kids amusement. My son was distraught about the care of their animals. I felt so bad trying to explain to him that some people use animals as money makers and don't necessarily care about their well being as much. I will not be returning unless Farmer Don and his wife are able to educate about humane treatment and looking through the perspective of animals and their well being. So upsetting. read more

Real Life Farm and Day camp is a wonderful place! There is Farmer Don who gives a wonderful demonstration on how to milk a cow...feed goats...make butter and much more. This is all hands on fun! You can also hold the smaller farm animals. There are hand washing station right outside of the barn. You get to take a lovely hayride that takes you around the entire farm...even the creek! In the spring you see the sleeping trees start to blossom. In the summer there is a sea of green...gorgeous. You may see the true side of any real farm...an occasional animal the has passed away. You also get to join in on walking the extremely well trained horses! This is such a treat to the children and parents. There is also an awesome playground and shelters to eat in. My daughter went here for summer day camp. After the first day, she came home in tears, screaming that she never wanted to go back, because one of the teachers called her "rude". It is not acceptable for a teacher to call a four year old names. She went back one more day and was nearly as unhappy. She refused to go back again. This is a child who has gone to preschool and other camps and NEVER had a problem. Since this incident, I can't get her to go to any other camp- even the ones she had loved so much. She is terrified of teachers and "being bad". The director did not handle the situation well when I called to discuss it. She defended her teacher saying he would never have called her rude (I'm certain my four year old didn't make up a situation where she was called rude. She probably doesn't even know that word). Overall, the experience was terrible and my child hasn't acted the same since. She is terrified to do anything wrong for fear of getting in trouble and being called a name. Her once happy-go-lucky attitude is gone. I can't believe how scarred she is from this event. read more
