I couldn't agree more with the first post! Gary is a true artist and can create anything you can dream up, and more. He and his wife are the friendliest people. When he first started out over 10 years ago, they were located (as their private business) in a supermarket, but you would never know it from the serious professionals they are. The way we found out about them was because we were just shopping and decided to stop in. They have their own store now (practically across the street from where they started). Gary created my most prized possession, my engagement and wedding rings, just from a pic and my description of what I wanted. He went above and beyond the most beautiful, perfect ring. Gary also made my husband's wedding band and a ring for my wedding gift just from a description. You tell him what you like and Gary will make a "1 of a kind" work of art! Even after 10 years, I still get compliments on how amazing my rings are! We live over an hour away now, but always make a special trip just to say hi, check out the beautiful rings, necklaces, charms, bracelets, etc..., and to get our rings checked up on. Gary takes his time to make sure all the diamonds are securely set still, polishes the heck out of it, and will fix anything that's a little "off" from wear and tear for next to nothing (he, in fact, for years, would do this for free, but understandably, he has to charge a little now). My husband and I love this family, have enjoyed seeing their children grow up (and even attend the same high school I went to in the '90's), and really appreciate them providing more than just great jewelry. Star Jewelry is a family owned place with the heart of a family owned place. I went to Star Jewelry to have an engagement ring slightly altered and was not disappointed in the least. When I arrived, I was warmly greeted by Anna who took the time to listen to my engagement ring story, and whole-heartedly offered condolences and sincere concern for my well being. I felt like I was talking to an old friend almost immediately, and I knew quickly that Star Jewelry could be trusted. Anna's business partner is the craftsman behind all jewelry concerns, as he is a jeweler but also is a diamond expert. He had a few ideas on how to raise the stone of my ring, and each idea was very appealing. At the end of our convo, he went to work on my ring right away (while Anna and I continued to gab). I had anticipated leaving my ring for a few days, or even up to a few weeks for the necessary updates. My sister recommended Star Jewelry after she heard my wife's ring prongs had come apart and therefore lost the diamond. I was a bit skeptical upon pulling into a strip mall parking lot, but was pleasantly surprised upon walking in. The interior is not updated, but still nice. We were greeted with a smile by one of the owners (Anna) and treated with the utmost respect. Anna's knowledge and experience was terrific and was never pushy. Gary came out to answer a few questions and yet again, were were treated with respect. We were amazed at the experience, knowledge, advice and the passion they both have as Jewelers. My husband had just purchase a two piece ring wrap for my wedding solitaire. The wrap was a size 10. We decided to give Star Jewelry a shot based on reviews. We went and spoke with the lovely wife first and then with the well experienced owner and jeweler of 40 years. We explained we needed the wrap sized to a 6 and we wanted the two pieces combined to make a ring guard that I could simply slide the solitaire in and out of. Not only could they do this for us at a fair price but, same day in house as well! We left the rings in their very capable hands and went to a movie down the road. Upon returning, I was presented with a gorgeous new ring jacket that fit perfectly! We had called around to quite a few stores some very well known too. NOBODY I repeat NOBODY could do same day or in house sizing! Everyone needed to send the rings away for a week or more! No one has a jeweler right there on site ready and waiting but Star sure did! Great prices, knowledgeable staff, family operated small business... what's not to like about Star Jewelry. This literal "mom & pop" shop provide some of the best service in the area. They are honest and straight forward. They don't sell garbage or artificially inflate their prices. They do in house design by an old world craftsman and are happy to work with you to create original, one of a kind pieces. They are truthful about any repairs that they are asked to do and will tell you if it is worth fixing. Don't go to a mall where some 18 year old kid behind a generic jewelry counter tries to sell you something that it overprice and of low quality because he is trying to get a commission. Friendly, knowledgeable, experienced, and fair, they will take on any client with the same level of professionalism. They have old world experience and skills in gemology, design, and fabrication. I am still in shock after getting home from my first visit to Star Jewelry- I can't believe what a great experience I had! We had a bad taste after purchasing my ring from Kay Jewelers that when we needed to get it resized and have a diamond replaced, I just kept putting it off. After reading reviews for Star we decided to give it a shot. First thing after I walked in, I was greeted and taken to look at my ring by one of the owners immediately. When he told me the cost I was sure it was just for the resize, but it also included the replacement diamond! Not just that, he also was able to complete everything within 20 minutes. I loved this place. They are very nice and listened to what I wanted. We discussed the ring design and I had my new ring a week later. It was custom made with a stone I already had. They were honest and fair in every aspect of our business transaction. I also saw many repeat customers come in for assistance on different pieces of jewelry. Came to Star Jewelery to look for an engagement ring as I wanted something a little different for a center stone. After reading reviews on their custom jewelry I knew we needed to check this place out. Such an amazing selection of unique stones and settings! Both the owners personally helped us and made us feel so welcome. Very personable and not pushy at all! We absolutely loved them! I found the most amazing and unique colored peach sapphire and handmade setting and fell in love! Today was my first time at Star Jewelry and I was truly delighted to meet Anna and Gary. I love to support family business owners. I had 2 other estimates to have work done on my wedding ring and they were outrageously high. So I read some Yelp reviews called the store and went in. They were able to fix my prongs and channels and even dip my ring for a fraction of what the other stores estimated. I even bought a watch because I had extra money to use since their pricing was so awesome. I highly recommend them to all who are jewelry shopping or need work done. Diane was very patient in helping make a decision on what to have custom made for a Mother's ring, and offered solid advice I went in Thursday just before close, and beyond my wildest expectations, Gary delivered a true work of art by Saturday morning...all custom made to my finicky requirements. I found this wonderful store by divine intervention! The couple that own the store are both wonderful honest people, something hard to come by these days in a jeweler. I stopped in to Star Jewelry to have some links removed from a watch and to replace a stone in a family ring. My watch was taken care of while I waited and I left the ring over night. I expected to get a synthetic stone but was given a real stone as the jeweler felt it looked better and I was only charged the price of the synthetic stone. The ring looked amazing, attention to detail was taken with the prongs to make sure they were strong and my ring was cleaned. The ring was finished when promised and the prices were reasonable.
