I went with Real Time Relocation because they said they could give me a better rate due to already being in the area to move a military family to the area. I am very very sorry I used them. Nothing happens as they say it will. I caught the moving men in several outright lies. The boxes were only partially filled so collapsed when weight was put on top of them - hence arrived with quite a large number of breakages. Apparently I had more boxes than I thought but the cost was doubled and they said they would take all the items. They didn't. They left most of the additional items I paid for. I've been on Yelp for well over a dozen years with many reviews and my family goes back five generations in Daytona Beach and this is the worst company we've ever worked with not only in Florida, but in any state, I've lived over this half century on the planet. Be sure to look at their negative reviews on Better Business Bureau a.k.a. BBB plus their negative reviews on Google and on Reddit. They are terrifying. Despite the fact that I was only moving one hour, they did not bring the items to me that day and not until another day and there was hardly any furniture, it was mostly extremely expensive refrigerated items and medical creams for adults and children for our business that , since they didn't bring to us, even though we begged them and explained what happened, they went bad and we lost thousands of dollars, but we see this is a common story or a similar story of people having broken items and terrible experiences and many call them a straight out scam. I can't say what I'd like to call them as I'm already nervous for my safety commenting here about them. They screamed at us on the phone when we had asked them to bring the products and not keep them for a whole day and sounded straight out of the mob. We used Real Time Relocation to move from our oceanfront condo in Daytona/Ormond Beach, Florida, to our riverfront home in Fleming Island. It was supposed to be a straightforward local move with not much furniture--just a sauna, one chair, and mostly boxes of expensive organic perishable products for our company, including extremely costly medical creams for children and adults that must be refrigerated. It was an absolute nightmare. They basically held our belongings for ransom and almost doubled the price on the spot. They said the owner was not available, refused to bring our belongings that day as promised, and acted like they were straight out of the mob--screaming, swearing, hateful, and terrifying. The crew did not come prepared and couldn't even complete the move in one day. Because they refused to deliver as agreed and did not refrigerate the perishables, we lost thousands of dollars worth of products. We didn't dare ask for compensation because honestly, I was afraid of being taken out--and I don't mean to dinner. This is one of the worst companies we have ever dealt with, and my family goes back five generations in Volusia County. I would never recommend these monsters to even my worst enemy. There are many reviews just like mine if you look on the Better Business Bureau (they are not BBB accredited and have dozens of complaints). Some people claim they were contacted by the company after posting negative reviews, which makes me nervous to write this--but it's worth it to warn other people. After much discussion on the phone and via email and text, we entered into an agreement with real time relocation to move one item from Florida to California. In a written exchange (see attached photos of text exchange), the representative stated that all though they are brokers, they would be doing this move themselves. Exact dimensions and weight were shared by us and a representative of Real Time clarified the price with a bulky fee because of the inability to stack other items on top of ours (see attached photos of text exchanges). After receiving the deposit of $1,381.49 from us and the day before the item was to be picked up, they contacted us saying the cost of moving the item would be over double what our signed agreement stated. it went from about $3,000 to $6,529.61. They admitted in writing several times that the dimensions and weight had not changed and that we had not added anything to our shipment and there was no new requirement of additional services (in agreement with clause #9 of their document), but they said they miscalculated how it would go in the truck and ultimately we needed to pay for their error and they presented another agreement with the new price and expected us to sign it. We refused, and thus, they have refused to return our deposit claiming we cancelled the move. We carefully read clause #9 in their agreement prior to signing and discussed in writing the guaranteed price with the representative (see attached photos of text exchange). Again, they admit that we made no changes to the item to be shipped. I have copied the exact wording of clause #9 at the bottom of this complaint. Real Time would not uphold their agreement with clause #9: "binding not to exceed" nor the agreed upon price. This business practice is predatory and a bait and switch situation. Their script and dialogue is well rehearsed. They have provided no service to us, they changed the terms of the signed agreement and ultimately stole the deposit. They did not pick up or move the item. Additionally, as i research regulations for moving companies in Florida, i have learned that in an interstate move such as ours, the company is allowed a maximum of a 20% downpayment, so not only did they steal our downpayment, but it was over double what it should have been legally. We are seeking the return of our paid deposit. Here is the text copied from clause #9 in their agreement: #9: customer has elected a "binding to not exceed" rate, the total cost will not exceed the estimated amount; provided, however that customer provides real time relocation llc with an accurate description of the items to be moved and the services to be performed. customer has requested to have an estimate provided for his/her household goods relocation, in accordance with 49 cfr 371.113(c)(1), customer agrees to waive a physical survey of the household goods, and alternatively agrees to receive a binding to not exceed estimate based upon the shipper provided item list of property to be transported. if any additional pieces, packing services, cubic feet, volume, weight or labor services are added at the origin or destination to those quoted, the customer shall be charged for these services at the governing tariff rates. customer understands that real time relocation llc. has a 2000 lbs, 286 cubic foot minimum on all shipments. any shipment below 2000 lbs, 286 cubic feet. will be charged at the 2000 lbs, 286 cubic feet rate. the price includes all fuel surcharges, tolls, load and unload, basic disassembly and reassembly of standard furniture items, up to 75 feet of long carry at origin and destination and 1 flights of stairs (stair flights start at 7 steps). elaborate furniture items that need to be disassembled and/or reassembled may require 3rd party servicing or additional labor and should be disclosed to your estimator and included in your estimate. disconnecting and/or reconnecting of appliances is not included in the price. reassembly is subject to the availability of tools and/or all parties being available. the packing and unpacking of boxes is only included in the price if it is itemized in the packing and unpacking section of your estimate; all materials/labor for undisclosed items will be extra. read more

Since Google just removes pretty much all 1-star reviews for this company, (Ironic how all the "good" reviews are by accounts with 1 review, but what do I know? It's a conspiracy!) I'm gonna post the same review I did there, on here. I'm tired of bad companies scamming people out of their hard-earned money. Just gonna point anyone reading these reviews to refer to the article about this company, their owner has been involved in many scams in Florida. They're pretty bad, and we lost items during our move, a few were damaged, threw out all my canned goods, they lie about the pricing to hook you, and then charge near double later. Their employees also seem to be on some "substances", and wig out at any little inconvenience. Run fast. Google the name "John Campanella" and there's multiple articles about him. EDIT: The owner called from a spoofed number with a voice changer sending threats and claiming to know where I live, and bad things will happen if I don't remove the review. Dangerous group. Post the review on these pages... Facebook, VERIFIED MOVERS, HomeAdvisor , and google. These are all the pages they go by, post this story on all 4 places ...... We are moving across the United States and planning to ship our items while we fly to our end destination. We found this company and decided to do business with them. The company asked for a list of items to be given for a quote. An inventory list was provided and they quoted us around $2,000. All seemed smooth and they reassured us our items would fit and we were within weight. They never mentioned anything about cubic feet. We gave them our Deposit which was $772. On moving day one person came in, took one look, eyeballed our packaged items, and said it would be an additional $1,300 for extra cubic space. This was within about 2-3 minutes of being in my home. Based on previous negative reviews, we were strict with sticking exactly to what was provided to the company regarding our inventory. We did NOT add anything additional to our inventory list. When we asked why the price was significantly higher than what was quoted they said it was because of the extra space. At this point nothing was loaded and it was them just going off an eyeball estimation. By now, the company already lost our trust. How do you provide a quote and then immediately say there's an additional $1300 charged based on an eyeball estimation which is prone to human error? There was nothing we had that was significantly large, or any additional items from what was provided on the inventory list. I am confident I could have made the inventory fit in the allotted space. The company puts you in a dilemma: lose your $772 deposit, or pay the unplanned expense which was around $1300. I can see if it was a couple hundred dollars but they immediately said an additional $1300 without moving a box. Next, they said they can load up as much as they can, and what doesn't fit we can leave behind or we can pay the additional charges. The 2nd dilemma: they load all your belongings and if it does not fit you pay the hefty additional cost or get charged for them to unload your item. Or some of your items which were provided on the inventory list, gets left behind and now you have to figure out how to get those items to your end destination. Ultimately we turned them away. I did not feel comfortable doing business with a company who seemed to lack honesty. If the red flag started before our items were even loaded, how would they treat our inventory on the road, or what suprise cost would arise once it got to the end destination? I do want to note as well that once the movers/loaders left, they returned shortly after and offered us a different price with a different company, which we rejected as well. When I spoke with the "manager" she was unprofessional and imprudent about the whole situation. I explained everything to her. I explained how this money is putting us out for our move. She basically said nothing can be done and she did not care about the paying customer issues. In fact she told me customer service is not her goal and that she can't make everyone happy. If there is any review you read for RTR for your move PLEASE make it THIS ONE. To start, we had a conversation with Timothy, the service rep and LIAR of the company. We will now list the lies we were told followed by what actually happened: ONE: We were started with an attractive price quote in our range then sat on an hour long phone call where Timothy promised us we were NOT dealing with a broker situation but a family business that used their own trucks and own workers. Timothy assured us that we had MORE than enough space for our items listed and that we would be able to fill the remaining space with other items that we had as the only "un-stackable" items were golf carts and motorcycles which we did not have. We were told we could add on items during the quality assurance call that would come 3 days prior to the move. PLEASE NOTE - they would not accept credit cards only debit for the deposit and seem to only want to deal in cash or cashiers checks (we now know why) - After signing the contract and paying an $800 deposit that was rendered non-refundable before the quality assurance call, we got a call from Nick. Nick took a second inventory our items - we added a few items as we were told we had more than enough space Nick then re-quoted us at DOUBLE our original price for a few things even though Timothy told us we were paying for SPACE NOT ITEMS countless times. When I asked if I could make a call to talk over the new major price change with my partner, I was told that if this call ended or I hung up that I would only get the original quote and would be unable to add anything at all Nick tried to scare me into urgency to agree to the price change saying our move was way sooner than it actually was. We went with the original quote not trying deal with a BAIT AND SWITCH situation. When the movers did come WHO WERE NOT RTR movers but a completely different company that was BROKERED out to pick up our things, they were hours late from the agreed upon pick up time. After they looked at all our listed items accounted for on the original contract the movers with a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BUSINESS NAME AND SEPARATE CONTRACTS told us it would be an extra $600. We could have walked away but we would have lost the $800 we had already paid plus now getting a U-Haul. We decided to move forward with the move now pretty sure we were being scammed as when Nick quoted us it was double the price (and extra $1900) and when the movers came they said it was only $600 so I am sure we would have never known they planned on scamming us out of an extra $1300 on space alone. TWO: On this call we agreed on delivery dates being 3 days after pickup and we stated we were okay with up to a 5 day delivery at the latest as the majority of our needed items would be on the truck and we only had about a week of essentials with us. Timothy assured us that was more than enough time stating "this gives my guys plenty of time to get there including rest and stops." He said at the very most the DOT would allow 10 days to get there - I asked about this and clarified he promised that it NEVER takes that long and that we would have our things safely delivered ASAP. He told us he would be available at any time throughout this process and would "hold our hand" through the entirety of the move. Timothy said that the number he provided rang straight to his personal cellphone so he would be very reachable. -LIES, after signing the contract we have been unable to reach Timothy the "family man" who was allegedly caring for his sick wife and child at the time of our contract call. The location of our things was impossible to find out and rarely were we able to reach anyone at all regarding status updates after being told we would be getting tons of updates and contacts. Afull week after our promised LATEST delivery we were berated on a call stating that they had 21 business days to deliver our items (the contract says 10) the rep was so rude and I demanded to know a location of my items per my rights and they stated they would track them down and give me a call - which never came (shocker). The only person we could reach on occasion was the driver of the actual truck after he texted us it would be another 3-5 days (this was well after our latest delivery date) We were told numerous times that our things would be here on a certain day and it got pushed back and back and back for almost a full week. Overall this was one of the worst experiences I have had with any company - the extreme amount of lies, deception, lack of humanity and care this company showed prove they are nothing more that a cheap scam. I would not recommend any of these services or people to my worst enemy. Listen to my warning at STAY AWAY- I know they are in the habit of responding to these complaints and gaslighting their clients into thinking this is somehow their fault so I am prepared for that as well. I used real time Relocation back in October 24. I would NEVER use them again. I thought my price was locked in however days prior to my move I was contacted to go over my move. The same information I shared previously and then was advised I had to pay way more than the original quote that was offered. I reluctantly paid it even though I was pissed. Day of the move the van that picked up my belongings (a third party vendor) said my stuff had to fit a certain space or I needed to pay more. It took two week for my stuff to be delivered from FL to VA. (Anthor thirdnparty vendor) Some of my stuff was lost. Choose them at your own Risk because you are looking for a cheaper option when in the end it will cost you way more. Don't make the same mistake I made. Do your due diligence. They outsource to multiple carriers. Your stuff is not with the same company the entire time. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

WARNING- THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!!!! WILL LIE TO YOU THE ENTIRE TIME AND EXTREMELY DELAYED DELIVERIES. I hired Real Time Relocation to move my things from Chicago to Daytona Beach. I was told multiple times that they were not a broker and it would be their employees and trucks moving my things. I was also promised a delivery date of 4/24/24 which was discussed MULTIPLE times as I relayed to Shawn (sales rep) that I was starting my new job the following week. Even moving my pick up date to allow more time for the travel and delivery of my items. Come time for pick up, it isn't even their trucks, my inventory list and address was NOT updated. Then I was told from Jackson Movers (the company my move was BROKERED out to) that they have 14 days to deliver from my first available date which was relayed as 4/24/24. Every time I've called since Real Time Relocation has been dismissive that I signed this contract and there is nothing they can do. I've talked to over 5 plus people, now my things have been sitting in Chicago for a week while I'm in Daytona with NO FURNITURE. David specifically being the rudest person I've encountered, clearly does not care about his business' reputation. By seeing the other reviews, I'm sure my belongings will show up (if they show up at all) not only extremely late but extremely damaged. I hired them to move from FL to GA. I was lied to about being able to put more things on the truck if there was room. I spoke to Nick who assured me they would pack the TVs and the artwork. Well the movers came with no boxes for my tvs, no tools despite my mention of an L shaped desk that had to be taken apart. The delivery took place 3 days after I paid. Arriving 6 hours late, without so much as a phone call or a text, and as soon as they started unloading all the bo es were smashed...as we're both my 55" and 65" TVs. My artwork was all ruined..there were punctures in the canvas. The delivery guys didn't even have a box cutter. I understand some damages when you move but very few things were not damaged. Customer service Stephanie gave a generic reply, sent me a link and they washed there hands of the whole thing. She even had the nerve to tell me that all my items were intact when they left there...but I'm sure she had to be lying because everything was wrapped with cloth or boxes. Terrible overall experience Our initial quote (to move from FL to RI) was ~$3700, this was a little low in my opinion (which should have been the first red flag) but we decided to move forward with them. We gave them a rough idea (over the phone) of what we had and they said they would contact us prior to the move. They contact us again to send them a detailed list of items we have. The Wednesday before the move (we moved on Saturday) we get a call from them saying our quote is now ~$6700 as we underestimated what we had before. I had no problem with this as this sounded more reasonable and in line with what other companies had quoted us. The day of the move they gave us a 2 hour window of when they would be there (I believe 8-10am?). They were late. We did have 2 pickups (one in Orlando and one in Gainesville and my girlfriend (who was in Orlando) was not happy with the movers. She said they continuously stopped to take smoke breaks and were just generally not the most professional. When they got to me in Gainesville they were able to pickup my stuff and I personally had no problem with them (the movers). They did add on fees pretty continuously throughout the process. Their website says "flat fees," that's nonsense as they do charge extra for every flight of stairs (to them one flight = 7 stairs @ $75/flight). I believe they also charged extra for every 100ft or so they had to walk to their truck. Once everything was loaded they said we went over our allotted feet. Our quote of $6700 was for 1000 metric feet. We ended at 1300ft. Our quote now went from $6700 to about $9400 and change. At this point our initial quote has tripled and we understandably upset by this. We contact John (the owner) who just sent us back numbers that did add up to what we were being charged but when we questioned where these numbers came from it ended with radio silence and contact (essentially their HR). Unfortunately for us they already had our stuff and we were at their mercy. Fine, I sign the papers and we get to the part about insurance. There are 2 options, 1. they cover everything (lost/damaged goods) but of course, that's another added fee (a certain % of what we think its worth or something along those lines) or 2. 0.60 cents per pound of good. We went with option 2 as the mover said "its never an issue." Fine When the movers get to RI (about 7-10 days) one guy shows up with the truck and starts unpacking. There was other people stuff in the truck and he put their mattress right in a puddle. I was horrified for those people who weren't even there. And when he started taking boxes out of truck most were absolutely smushed, smashed, open, chewed on what ever you want to say they were not in the condition we gave them in. Many things were broken (suitcase was smashed) and worse was the peloton bike screen was smashed. The mover said "file a claim." Someone else showed up to help the moving guy about an hour after he got there. Ended up leaving at 11pm (got there at about 6pm). We filled a claim (remember that insurance I mentioned earlier), for $3k. After their 3rd party got back to us they offered us ~$132 total "based on weight of items broken (smashed)." The peloton screen alone is $500.... Apparently if you move long distance they offload your stuff in a ware house and just beat the living daylights out of it. Only reason they get 1 star is because customer service was friendly (I assume she deals with this type of situation often). Please do not make the same mistake we did and do NOT go with these guys. They didn't do what was promised, and their insurance company didn't give me anything for real property damage because I didn't realize needed to write what they broke after a verbal confirmation that they broke it on the contract. these guys did great. not sure why they're so highly downvoted here, but I moved from Wisconsin to Florida and had a great experience. they were very straightforward on how they provide pricing vs those that just told me it's guaranteed for $1,500. after numerous moving calls I could tell they were professionals and ignored the rest. I had $200 in overages which is no big deal considering i had more stuff, and my stuff got to its destination 2 days later moving from Illinois to florida.
