This was towards the beginning of quarantine so I didn't get a chance to work with him, but his professionalism in his communication is by far the most reliable compared to the many, many places I've received estimates for and that speaks volumes to me. This review is overdue, given that I contacted Mike a year ago, but better late than never, right? I asked Mike to come by to help me figure out how to install an electric bidet I recently purchased. He was prompt, super friendly, and (compared to another local plumbing company) way more knowledgeable. He knew how to install it and explained it all very clearly. Unfortunately, due to circumstances outside of his control (a broken plumbing fixture that requires shutting off water to the entire building in order to fix, which I couldn't ask him to do because I'm just a renter in the building), he wasn't able to install the bidet for me, but he gave me an action plan and best of all, he typed it all out in detail in a follow-up email so I could reference it later on and not have to scramble to jot down notes while he was explaining it to me. I tried hiring a Task Rabbit (which is what I used to always do in the past), but it seemed harder and harder to hire someone who wouldn't flake. So glad that I found Mike on Yelp. He has been to my house two times now. The first time was when the pipe under my kitchen sink sprung a leak. Although he was booked when I called him, he felt bad for me and so he squeezed me in between clients. Then I hired him to do other handyman tasks. Our home was built in 1942, so the light switch was not working--I now have light downstairs in the basement again! He replaced two light fixtures--bathroom and bedroom and then when I showed him that one of the drawers in the kitchen had fallen apart--he did his magic. He also fixed three of the kitchen cabinet doors that just wouldn't close completely. He is very pleasant and really cares about your home. We messaged him Friday afternoon and he responded right away. We exchanged emails over the weekend and he stopped by Monday. That is responsive. He gave us a very reasonable quote, and judging by my previous attempts at "simple" light replacement, key replacement or plumbing work, we decide that it's better to trust to an expert for a job to be done right the first time. We installed two motion sensor lights -- one at the front door and one at the garage. Once installed, we were excited to try them. Well they came on and... stayed on -- despite the promise in the instruction manual that they will automatically shut off. No worries. Rasonaby Honest Mike was also very patient. He made several adjustments, read and re read the manual, check and double check and waited to test the sensor. Decided to send Mike an email about it to see if he'd be willing to take a look. This was on a Saturday. I figured it's the weekend so I'll wait a bit for his reply. By Tuesday no response. The water heater is still leaking, but the leaking is getting worse. So on Tuesday afternoon I send him another email message. By Wednesday still no response, water is still dripping out of the heater. My plants are enjoying the extra water I've been collecting from the heater to water them with. I think to myself, "OK maybe he's super busy getting a lot of emails," so I call and leave a voicemail message on Wednesday. Again no response.
