Went in for an underboob/torso piece with Em. I had sent her a few inspo pics that were pretty, but not well done, and we discussed my hopes during our consult. Y'all, Em knocked it out of the damn park. She showed me the full colour finished pice and it was SO beautiful, way beyond what I had hoped. The day of was really laid back and chill: we chatted a bit about odd tattoos she's done and the worst places to get one. Well lucky me, I picked a pretty painful part but she was as gentle as she could possibly be. We took breaks, her for food and me for coffee, and get about 95% done in 1 full day session. She booked me for my touch up that same day and said there would be no charge for the time since she quoted what she quoted, but I'm happily going to pay her hourly rate plus top for her time. Em herself is very down to earth and chill, open to your feedback and tweaking things to get exactly what you want. Mike from the front desk is cool as hell, and the space is very well lit and exceptionally clean. Other artists popped by while we were working and loved her vision of what I wanted. Overall a 15/10 experience and I'm even finding more art that I want Em to do now. read more

I urge everyone to check around to get estimates from other tattoo artists to compare pricing before you make the same mistake I made. I came in with another person and we both wanted tattoos. We sat down with the artists to go over the designs and were placed on the schedule for full day sessions at $1500 each. We assumed that was just the cost of a tattoo so paid the deposits and left. We trusted them since we haven't gotten a tattoo in over 20 years. One of us was charged a $250 deposit and the other a $400 deposit. We didn't know there was a difference until we left and discussed it. After talking with several friends that have tattoo's, we were told that price was WAY too high for what we were getting done, one tattoo on the upper arm about 4-5 inches big. We decided to get some other quotes and we were told by other reputable shops that our tattoos would take 2-3 hours to complete and the price was $300. We were shocked that Rebel Muse was charging 5 times higher than others. This isn't just a little higher, it's a HUGE difference. We decided to go back and talk to them, 10 days before our scheduled appointments to discuss pricing and the deposit difference. They did not care and said that's the price and we would have to forfeit the deposits if we cancelled. I asked if they could at least refund me the difference in deposit amounts ($400 vs $250) and I was told they would check and get back to me. I never heard back from them. This was a very bad experience and the customer service here is non-existent. I get that prices can be different at different locations/different artists but this is ridiculous. I'm not doubting their work may be good but price gouging is where I draw the line! This was a huge and costly mistake on my end. I paid 150 dollars for a tattoo that's about an inch big, it went well until a couple weeks after I had gotten the tattoo I noticed the lines weren't even in thickness. I called to get a touch up which they offered free but even after the touch up i am very disappointed in the tattoo and cost of it. I've gotten other tattoos now that have cost way less and are way better quality. My artist was Miles. I am very upset with the result as the picture is a year later. Whole process was a dream. From the initial walk-in, to artist consultation, I felt confident when I met and set my appointment with Xavier last week. I emailed him samples, and he was very responsive and great about taking my ideas and transforming them into exactly what I wanted. On the day of my appt, I walked in and was wavering on tattoo location, and X did not give me any grief but instead kindly listened, spoke openly to me about pros and cons of different tattoo placements, and was very patient while I settled on the final design and location. He has a crazy gift for tattooing effectively but almost painlessly. Swear I could have fallen asleep in the chair; I was that comfortable. I want to start that I did NOT show up for my appt and chose to lose $100 deposit. I had a consult and paid my appt fee.. and was having two Tats custom made from internet ideas I had scraped. I discussed that I wanted to see the final before my appt.. and also discussed sharing example of my loved ones writing.. for the words that would be with the tat. I emailed my artist about 3-4 weeks prior to the appt.. wanting to know how the designs were going and how to get the writing samples to her. I never heard back anything.. completely ghosted. I read the fine print on the down payment receipt and it said no designs will be shared and I was beyond the cancel period. I finally stumbled upon Rebel Muse Tattoo driving by the Dallas location into work one day. I decided to stop in after reaching out via Instagram. Someone reached out promptly and said to come in for a consultation. Went in and met Joseph Arlin, he was warm and welcoming. We went over my ideas and I showed him a few images that I had liked artistically. I was open to him putting his own flare on it and he gave me his business card and told me to check his social media out and then we can book something I LOVED his work and his shading (not sure I'm using proper terms as I'm a tattoo virgin) Because of Covid I was never able to book my appointment. BUT shortly before tattoos parlors getting word they could reopen Joseph reached out to get something on the books just in case as he knew I was relocating out of the area. This touched me even more because he remembered this detail! I was his very first client back. Day of tattoo he had already had it drawn up and ready for my approval. He was super friendly knowing I was nervous for this being my first tattoo and then because I was worried it would hurt being on my foot. He put me at ease and began his magic. It hurt in spurts but no where near as bad as I thought it would or had been told it would. The tattoo took about 2 and a half hours if that. It's GORGEOUS!! He went over aftercare instructions and said to reach out if I had questions. Which I did....a lot. (Sorry Joesph!) He was a SAINT and so so patient with me as I was super nervous during my healing period. I was still REALLY nervous and kept sending pictures of it as it healed. He kept reassuring me that it was healing beautifully which now, I can agree and can say I was over dramatic. (Again, I'm sorry Joesph!) I am so thankful I had Joesph as my tattoo artist. I have been working on a sleeve with Joseph Valle for about 2 years now. We have been to several locations with Joseph but this establishment is by far the best! It is unlike any other tattoo studio my wife and I have attended. The whole place is very clean with new floors, walls, equipment etc. The whole establishment is just first class. The layout is one in which each tattoo artist has their own workspace and there are walls about 4 foot high surrounding them. So the whole place is private for you and your artist while at the same time feeling airy and open. Everyone here was welcoming, from the shop manager, Mike, to the other artists we spoke with. I went to Rebel Muse Tattoo on Saturday, November 23, 2019 for a scheduled consultation. I spoke with tattoo artist Robert Hornback. My goal was to get my tummy scar covered. Robert assured me he could do this and give me exactly what I wanted. I showed him a picture of what I wanted, and he took me for a consultation and to get a picture of my stomach. He informed me that that his cost was $250 an hour and the tattoo would take no more than 3-4 hours. I was told there would be an initial deposit of $200 that was due immediately and would be applied towards the final cost once the tattoo was complete. The earliest he could schedule me for the tattoo was on Tuesday, April 21,2020 at 10:30 AM. I paid the $200 deposit and scheduled my appointment for April 21, 2020. On April 1, 2020 I received an email from Robert informing me the shop was officially closed due to COVID 19 and I would have to reschedule my originally scheduled appointment to July or September. I rescheduled my appointed for Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 10:30 AM. I arrived at the tattoo shop at 10:20 AM for my scheduled appointment on Saturday September 5, at 10:30 AM. I was greeted by Robert who had no sketch drawn out of the tattoo as we discussed at the time of my initial consultation. I once again shared with Robert what I wanted and showed him the area on my stomach that was to be covered. He proceeded to the backroom to draw the tattoo and reappeared at 1 PM. He showed me something completely different from what I initially asked for, but I hesitantly agreed to it along with my color choices. At 1:36 PM we began the tattoo session. 2 hours into the session a female coworker comes up to Robert and invites him to lunch with her. He agrees to attend lunch with his coworker and stops the appointment. After 1.5hr lunch he returns and apologizes for his tardiness and continues the tattoo session. After hours pass, I begin to panic because I realize it will take a lot more time to complete. At this point, it is now after 5 PM. I ask Robert if he will be able to complete my tattoo with the coloring. He advises me he will try and then proceeds to rush to finish. After an hour the manager approaches Robert and asks him how much longer it will be before he finishes. Robert proceeds to tattooing. After a short period and with no color and incomplete outlining, he informed me that "we're done for the day." At 7:30 PM I proceed to the checkout counter. Robert then stated, "the cost for today is $2,000." I was flabbergasted! I said "$2,000? You started after 1:30 PM because you did not have the sketch completed when I arrived. Then you and your female coworker took a 1-and-a-half-hour lunch break. To top it off the tattoo is not even complete and there is no color. You told me the tattoo would take approximately 3-4 hours, so I was expecting to pay no less than $750.00, including the $200 deposit." The manager was next to the register with Robert while I was expressing my frustration on the cost and lack of professionalism. I looked to him to step in and he was quiet with his head down the entire time. Robert said, "I am sorry but the cost for today is $2,000." I contemplated not paying but I felt intimidated being a female in the presence of two males, alone. I asked him how many hours he would need to complete the tattoo; he stated no more than 3 hours total. He stated the cost would be at $250.00 an hour. I could not even breathe when I was told the cost but felt bullied into paying the $2000 surprise bill. I went ahead and paid it knowing that I would dispute this with my credit card company. I went to my car in tears because I felt I had been taken advantage of and lied to. $2200 later and I still have an unfinished tattoo with no color, I will have to spend more money out of pocket to get the tattoo completed and colored. My entire experience at Rebel Muse was awesome! Robert is such a talented artist, great attention to detail, very knowledgable and overall just a cool guy. The shop was kept super clean and the vibe was laid back and professional. Robert showed me what he designed for my tattoo on the morning of our appointment, he was flexible with me and made some adjustments so it would be exactly what I was looking for. We ended up having to do 2 sessions - I waited 7 weeks before I could get in with him to finish the second half. So, just an FYI if you want to book with him, do it waaaay in advance! On the healing side of things, I really liked that he covered my tattoo with Saniderm and gave me all the details so I could ensure my tattoo would heal properly and look its best. I have had most of my tattoos done in Vegas by my favorite artist, but when we moved back to Dallas I was really nervous about finding a new artist. After doing a lot of research online I came across Rebel Muse Tattoo. All of their artists have phenomenal work. Liz Cook and Danny Elliot's art is just killer and honestly I can't wait to be tattooed by either one of them. In my research I went to other shops and talked to other artists at tattoo conventions but it all kept coming back to a few artists at Rebel Muse. Then I kept running into people that had tattoos from them and told me how awesome their experience was. James Corgill is the artist that I chose for my first half sleeve after following him on Instagram for a year. Corgill is an amazing artist who has incredibly unique work and beautiful color variations to his tattoos that I just had to have one. He was so nice during our consultation that I decided to give him the basics of my idea and let him roll with the rest. When I came in for my linework I was taken aback. The drawing he made for me was PERFECT! He truly understood my vision and cared about all the things I did. We had to split my sessions into three because on the second session, my skin was getting too raised around my linework. I can't tell you how much I appreciate him caring so much about my tattoo and the healing process that he was willing to push out another session. It was the best idea and I am so glad I trusted his judgement. He was super considerate about taking breaks when needed. I absolutely love my tattoo and could not imagine a better outcome for the piece that I had vaguely designed in my head. It is so vibrant and beautiful. Side note: Corgill is also a really cool dude, full of fascinating facts and he loves good music. The owner and most artists are very friendly and helpful. The shop itself is immaculate. I was tattooed by Jessie Heart and it was not a good experience at all for me. She was rude and went way too deep. She gave me the attitude I usually get from your typical male tattoo artist. She took my design and added shading where I didn't want it. It's never fun having something permanently on your body that you didn't want. It didn't heal properly so I'll need to get it touched up (which could have been my fault). Not sure what her problem was with me but it was clear there may have been one. I tried to be kind and make small talk but she definitely wasn't having it.
