When we met the group at The Great Bridal Expo, we were impressed with their portfolio and with how many people were gathered around their booth. We mentioned where our wedding was, and Van grabbed one of their albums to show us exactly what we could look forward to since they had worked a wedding at our venue in the past. He quickly gained my trust with his knowledge of the area. Shortly after attending the Bridal Fair, I contacted Michael's Wedding Group to ask some more questions. Sue responded to my email within hours of sending it! She really is great at communicating with their clients. Although I do love to look at beautiful engagement photos, I didn't want our session to be by that one tree at that one park. I imagined something different and more fun. We originally chose to have our engagement session at The Color Factory, but we weren't able to get tickets to any of the slots. We did, however, manage to snag some tickets for the first week that The Museum of Ice Cream opened in San Francisco. Sue was very patient as we tried to coordinate all of our schedules while we tried to get the super coveted tickets to MOIC. Michael met us at the Museum of Ice Cream and we had the best engagement session I could imagine! It resulted in a lot of awesome pictures, delicious treats, and we felt really comfortable while having our pictures taken at a public place with lots of people watching. Van and Israel were our photographers on our wedding day. I sent them an extensive list of must-have photos before our big day, and they were able to capture everything and more! Van was very efficient and has a great eye. Israel was our second photographer and helped make sure the lighting was just right. My entire bridal party was comfortable with them as they captured special moments throughout the day. Something I really appreciate when it comes to vendors is how real they are. It's nice to talk to vendors who genuinely make a connection as someone who wants the best result for you, and not just someone you're hiring. All of our encounters with the group reflect this- both in person and online. You should be comfortable with everything regarding your wedding. Michael's Wedding Group is easy to talk to, they're very friendly, they know what they're doing, and they are definitely the way to go for your big day!

I approached Van asking…read morehim if they had done any hybrid Vietnamese and Filipino weddings and his respond was "of course!". He showed us some of the samples they had done through out the years and it looked awesome. We did not only wanted someone who can take good photos but also someone that knows the etiquette of our culture. We went with Michael's Wedding Group and requested that Van to be our main photographer on the wedding day. We took our engagement photos a couple months after hiring them and Michael and Sean was our photographer for the shoot. The pictures came out beautifully and we knew that our wedding day was going to be better. Our wedding day consisted of Van and Sean as our main photographers. They were with us the whole time from the early morning to the tea ceremony, the actual ceremony and at the reception. Van was too cool! We was speaking Vietnamese to my family since some of the older folks didn't understand English well. He knew the etiquette of the culture and executed it really well. Sean was also all over the place doing his thing and taking pictures. We received our final photos two months after our wedding day. Sean edited them and they turned out great. The price we paid was reasonable compared to other photographers that my wife and I met with. It's the quality of their work, service and price that makes this a 5 star review. "It was a pleasure working with you guys and thank you!"

While he was panicking on the phone trying to find someone who knew a videographer, I did a Yelp search and decided to call Bay Tiger. I explained our "emergency" to Ken when he answered the phone. He said he could probably help us so I handed the phone over to my husband. They quickly worked out the details and agreed on a budget, at which point Ken abandoned his Sunday workout, got in the car and made it to Menlo Park in time to shoot the film that was needed. He also did some quick turnaround editing-as in overnight. While I didn't interact with him beyond the initial phone contact, my husband said that he was extremely professional and very good at what he does. I was tremendously impressed that not only did he answer his phone on a Sunday, he was willing to turn his day upside down to accommodate our request.

This past June 8th, we finally had the opportunity to hire and work with Ken, as it was our company's 3 Year Anniversary Party at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Video is a huge part of our vibe, as people from around the world need to see what all this hype is about. Ken certainly captured our day in review perfectly. He put more time and effort into it than we could have imagined. He was well-underpaid for his work ethic, production, shooting capabilities and editing. What Ken is excellent at is reading our vibe...our feel...and making sure we, the customer, are very happy with the output. Video is our best source of marketing and Ken has put together our best marketing piece yet. I am safe and relieved to say, we have found our man!!!! I HIGHLY recommend Ken for any event you may have, as he will give you quality shots, great energy, excellent editing and a heart to make sure you are happy with the final piece. Thanks Ken!!! Until our next shoot!!! Matt

Sean created a beautiful, heartfelt video that showcased the transformation of our upper-grade classrooms while capturing the excitement and vision for our upcoming K-3 classroom redesign. He interviewed both students and teachers, highlighting what they love about their learning spaces and what they hope to see in the future. The finished video perfectly reflected our school's commitment to our children, our families, and our community. It was one of the most impactful moments of the evening and helped tell the story behind our fundraising efforts in a meaningful and inspiring way. Sean was creative, professional, and a pleasure to work with. He offered thoughtful recommendations while also listening carefully to our ideas, making sure the final product reflected our vision. His ability to capture the heart of our school and bring it to life on screen exceeded our expectations. We couldn't have been happier with the final product and highly recommend Kurtela Video Productions to anyone looking to tell their story with authenticity, creativity, and heart.

Under a tight deadline, Sean prepared a series of video montages for the event, filmed the live event (including multiple camera angles), and created a beautiful video of the event that will serve as a lasting way to remember our beloved family member. Not only was the video work of excellent quality, but Sean was fantastic to work with -- I had some very specific ideas around both the montages as well as the final video and Sean was incredibly collaborative, open to feedback, and easy to work with to make sure what was delivered was what we were looking for. Also, his rates were reasonable... I felt he was very fair in what he charged, especially given the very high quality. We're very, very happy with the final product and grateful for Sean for all the hard (and good) work he put into this. I highly recommend Kurtela Video Productions!

We had not planned to have a videographer,…read morebut one came with the wedding package for our venue and we debated seeing if we could get a discount to drop it from the package. But many of our friends had told us that a wedding video was a good idea because it helps you relive the day and see parts you would not be able to otherwise, and they were absolutely right! Mark did a wonderful job of capturing not just our ceremony, but some sweet moments during our pre-wedding photos, the cocktail hour, toasts and our first dances, and even a little bit of the open dancing before the end of his contracted time. The day passes by in a total blur of joy, so we are so glad to have this video which captures the beauty and joy of the day, and we get to see even more than we actually experienced. With COVID wedding pivoting compounding wedding expenses, we didn't say yes to some extra things Mark offered, but would encourage anyone in early planning stages to plan for the extra expenses of 1) videographer coverage of everything (our contracted time didn't cover our cake cutting and the open dancing, which seemed fine in theory ahead of time but now I wish I had footage of those things) 2) go for the assistant videographer! some of my favorite things about watching the video were all the things i wouldn't have been able to experience like what was happening while the guys were getting ready or seeing people connect at the cocktail hour. there could have been so much more of this if I'd said yes to an assistant for part of the time (and so appreciate Mark running around and working as hard as he did to give us what we did have!) 3) a highlight video. while i am so glad we have a full hour and twenty minute film of our special day, that's not what most family members will want to watch. so having a short highlight video to share with those who cannot come, especially these days, would have been a nice addition. I can of course only speak to Mark's work on our wedding video, but I would assume he would do an amazing job on any of the project types Legacy Films offers since he has a great eye and vision for storytelling.

My husband and I received countless compliments on how smooth, organized, and beautiful our wedding was. Thanks to the incredible TDE team, I was able to enjoy the most perfect wedding day. Jessica: Jessica was our main point of contact throughout the planning process, and she was truly amazing. Whether we had questions or requests for the decorators, MC, DJ, day-of coordinator, photographers, videographers, or HMUA, she was always there to help. She was patient, kind, incredibly organized, and never made me feel like my questions were too much. Our Service Instruction worksheet was so detailed that every vendor knew exactly what to expect, which made the entire day run seamlessly. Decoration Team: The décor for both our ceremony and reception was absolutely stunning. Just two weeks before the wedding, I made a major change to our reception backdrop, and the team worked hard to bring my new vision to life. Jessica even arranged for me to see digital mockups after we discussed how important they were to me. Because of that, I was able to completely refresh the design from the inspiration I had shared over a year earlier. My advice: be as specific as possible about what you like and don't like--it really helps the decorators create your vision. Everything was executed beautifully. MC Eric: Eric was phenomenal! We specifically wanted a bilingual English/Vietnamese MC, and he exceeded every expectation. Even our hard-to-impress Vietnamese aunties and uncles couldn't stop complimenting him. He was charismatic, organized, and handled last-minute changes effortlessly. We had to adjust our timeline during the reception, including pausing photos and adding speeches, and he kept everything flowing naturally without awkward downtime. He also perfectly coordinated our unique sequence of dances with the DJ, making every transition feel seamless. DJ Otis: We didn't know who our DJ would be until the wedding day, and we were thrilled it was Otis! He absolutely nailed the music all night. The dance floor stayed packed until 11 PM because he knew exactly how to read the crowd. He mixed current hits with 70s-90s favorites that kept both younger guests and the older Vietnamese crowd dancing. The glow sticks and light-up glasses were a huge hit, and the energy never dropped. Day-of Coordinator Carina: Carina was incredible. She was warm, personable, and unbelievably organized. I thought my planning documents were detailed, but hers were even more thorough! She made me feel completely at ease leading up to the wedding and even drove to Pleasanton to run our rehearsal (an add-on that was absolutely worth it). Multiple vendors and family members commented on how efficient and organized she was. Photography & Videography: Our package included an engagement shoot plus two photographers and two videographers. Sam photographed both our engagement session and wedding, and his work was beautiful. We chose his light and airy editing style, and our engagement photos turned out amazing. On the wedding day, Sam and Christine were fantastic. They captured every moment while making us feel comfortable. One thing I'll never forget was how Sam noticed we hadn't had a moment to ourselves because of nonstop photos. He quietly pulled us away under the guise of a private reception reveal so we could enjoy a few peaceful minutes together. It was such a thoughtful gesture. Overall, I couldn't be happier that we chose TDE. If you're looking for a wedding that's beautiful, organized, low-stress, and genuinely enjoyable, I HIGHLY recommend them. They truly made our dream wedding come to life.

Otis was kind with great attention to detail from the start. Ultimately, we decided with the glam package and our contract was very clear to understand with cost breakdown for removal of specific services / add-ons. I updated it many times with Jessica, our planner, as we made changes throughout the months, and she was always so patient and clear. Our MC Otis did a wonderful job with maintaining flow of the program. Otis was also working as DJ for a good portion of the evening, so props to him! We had closer to an hour compared to 1.5 hours of open dancing because we were behind schedule, but everybody was on the dance floor and he kept the party going seamlessly. Weddings are hectic and there are so many moving parts; we did get behind schedule but we were still able to do everything we wanted to do. Our photo & video services were set to end, but Otis was very professional in discussing with us if we wanted to extend our video services, communicative on additional cost, at the moment. Our photographer, Ben, along with the team Stanford and videographer, Christina, were so fun to work with. Ben was great at providing direction, which is especially helpful since we were not used to posing. I have not received photo & video yet as it has only been a week, but from an experience standpoint, they were attentive to detail, communicative, and glided effortlessly through the event. My makeup artist, Vivi, is the sweetest person. She was super attentive to detail and my particular skin type. I was worried about makeup because I don't wear heavy makeup often. I ended up paying for a make-up trial, and I was so happy working with Vivi that I had no worries for the wedding day. We also added-on make up for our mothers, which Vivi did the morning of. The reception decor turned out so pretty! Everything was set-up as scheduled. I was really happy with the welcome backdrop and name sign. It was also great to take pictures with guests with the backdrop since we had time during cocktail hour. We asked TDE to incorporate a large screen as the backdrop of our sweetheart table, so we found an example from a previous wedding they did, and it turned out exactly as expected. We added the photo-booth, which was so popular with the guests! There were so many cool props and our guests were having tons of fun with it. I also sent TDE a custom drawing that I wanted for the photo strips- and it turned out just like I imagined. We chose Grand Dynasty as our reception venue, and TDE communicated set-up details with our restaurant event manager, Esmond, in the days leading up to the event. I highly recommend TDE and the team that we worked with! Thank you for making it an unforgettable experience.
