The healing process, coupled with work and juggling a family plus physical therapy was unbelievably painful, difficult and trying. I knew that Joel would do whatever he could to help me and he did. My pain level was at times a 10 out of 10 and Joel and massage therapy were the only things that worked to relieve my pain that was not a narcotic. Fast forward to today... I came for an initial evaluation and all they did was take me back to the doctor's huge office to meet him but then he told his assistant to take me to another room which was basically the size of a walk in closet and had me wait. He didn't do X-rays or any other tests, after the assistant took my vitals I waited more while he saw other patients then he came in and did a few quick adjustments. I definitely expected more from an initial evaluation, he barely asked me what my issue was. Not the type of chiropractor I prefer.

I spoke with Dr. Shep to set up an appointment and he was able to get him in the next day! He was extremely helpful and kind when setting up the appointment and answered all the questions I had. After the appointment, he had come home and said he's never felt better. In the past he's seen multiple chiropractors but he's never had the experience like he did at Cornerstone after seeing Dr. Andrea. Not only did she address his pulled back but helped him get a plan to address all the other aches he had that catered his auto-immune disease. I left a voicemail telling her that I had excruciating shoulder pain and that I was hoping she could see me ASAP! Within the hour I got a phone call back from her saying come in and she would see me. Little did I know that it was during her lunch break. She graciously made me feel welcome, did a thorough comprehensive exam, was able to adjust me to alleviate me of my acute pain. She has taught me so many helpful tips that I can implement into my daily routine to help keep my body healthy. He…read moreovercharged my insurance company for my appointments without ever providing me any statement or receipts for the treatment sessions for over 2 years, after which he claimed that I owed him more money, even though he had already received over triple the amount of what my treatment was going to cost - according to himself! At the start of my treatment, he had said that $2K would cover my treatment, then he found out that my insurance would cover up to $5K - which he charged them and got paid for. Then he claimed that I still owed him over $1,700. All in all, he got paid $6,800 for the same treatment that he had quoted me for $2K. He made me pay for my initial visit, and later I found out that he had charged my insurance for the same exact first visit. When I asked him about it, he agreed that he would reimburse me for that visit. However, to this day, with many back-and-forth emails, I have not received any payment. He just uses different excuses and plays games to avoid paying what he himself had agreed to. I do not trust Dr. Ray any longer. I will no longer get treatments from him nor will I refer anyone to him.

Before my treatment, one small tweak would quickly spiral out of control and at times be severe and debilitating. I've been carried out of vehicles, crawled up stairs, spent countless sleepless nights laying flat on a hard wood floor because even breathing would hurt. A sneeze could make me cry. My entire life was controlled by pain - or stressing out about when the next bad episode would hit. After multiple doctors, numerous scripts for pain killers, 4 MRIS, nerve testing, a pricey meeting with a spine specialist at a very prestigious hospital, and a 15 year timeline -- I learned "nothing is wrong with you" or "it's in your head." And left feeling helpless and slightly crazy. I met Dr. Hall in November of 2017. On our first meeting and overview exam, we reviewed my xrays. I'll never forget the moment when he pointed to the image and said "yep, right here - there's the smoking gun." Wait... really? How could he have figured this out so quickly. He explained that my right hip was 1.5 inches out of line with my left. Then showed me the "timeline" of issues up my spine caused from years of misalignment. We talked about my stiff straight neck - what caused it what's making it worse - and the negative effects I'm experiencing from this. My "carpel tunnel" is most likely not carpel tunnel all. Most of my sinus headaches, he explained, were likely caused from the lack of curvature and neck compression. Everything he said to me in his diagnosis was backed up with simple, clear, facts and evidence. It all made so much sense to me. It was the first time I finished a conversation about my issues pain feeling hopeful, rather than frustrated. For the first time in over 15 years, I'm confident that my joint issues are solved and I feel completely in control of my body. I am again able to choose my level of activity and challenge myself, rather than letting my pain dictate what I am able to do and when. Im able to enjoy skiing three days in a row without fear of an episode that would ruin my day. I confidently enjoy hikes more challenging than i ever would have attempted before. I am proud to call myself a "runner" once again and enjoy frequent runs with my husky, Samson. Prior to meeting doctor hall I had decided my running days were over (despite it being my favorite and most mind-clearing activity). Yoga is once again a part of my life and I'm so grateful for how "right" my body feels. Today, if I ever trip hiking, slip on ice or fall skiing, I don't dread whats to come. Because even if I experience a minor fall or bump -- the after pain (if any at all) is so minimal. AND the best part is -- I'm now fully capable of making pain go away simply and quickly (with a set of exercises he gave me for on going maintenance). Armed with these tools, I get back on my feet and on with life comfortably -- all within the same day. I could never put into words how empowered that makes me feel. Yet, even saying he 'changed my life' is still too simple to fully capture the impact he's made. The new me enjoys an overall improved well being, which in turn, has also positively impacted those closest to me (some who have never known me without my main issues of back pain, carpel tunnel, and intense headaches.) But wait, there's more. Dr Halls impact, quality of care, and compassion stretches even further. I spoke to him about my father who lives in another state, but was someone I assumed could benefit from chiropractic. Dr Hall gave me detailed advice, and even called around my hometown area looking for a chiropractor that would be a good fit for my fathers very precise and sensitive needs.
