He said it would be fine. I asked him again - and he said it would be fine. Again. Well that's not what happened. The crack spread another 2 inches before I could get back to Texas and have it repaired correctly. The new repair stopped the crack and even made the crack invisible even though Tri Valley couldn't do that.

When we first arrived, one of the staff members named Brotty was very friendly and professional. He informed us that we were welcome to dock our boat, but that finding a parking space for our trailer might be difficult. We explained that we would work on finding parking and planned to dock the boat first. At no point were we told that trailer parking was prohibited on the property. The marina accepted our payment for docking, and after we docked our boat, we began discussing where we could park the trailer. At that point, the marina manager, Jeff, approached us in a manner that we found extremely hostile and confrontational. He immediately told us that we needed to leave and that we were not allowed to park our trailer on the property. When I politely asked if there was a pamphlet, brochure, or written information explaining the marina's parking procedures and rules, Luke angrily responded that everything was on the website and that their process was based on "respect." The situation escalated unnecessarily, and we were ultimately threatened with the possibility of the sheriff being called if we did not leave. This was especially frustrating because our cabin was only about a mile away. Had we simply been informed from the beginning that trailers could not be parked on the property, we would have gladly docked our boat and returned the trailer to our cabin. What should have been a relaxing day on the lake turned into a very uncomfortable and disappointing experience. We did not feel welcomed at all. In fact, one of the staff members who originally assisted us later apologized for the manager's behavior, which further confirmed that the interaction was not handled appropriately. We understand that businesses have rules and policies, and we fully respect that. Our disappointment is not with the marina having parking restrictions, but rather with the lack of communication and the hostile, unprofessional manner in which the situation was handled. We hope management takes this feedback seriously, as Fallen Leaf Lake is a beautiful place and visitors should feel welcomed and treated with professionalism and respect.

I called the Geico (US BOAT) insurance company for a tow and sat on hold for an hour - there I was drifting toward the rock cliffs - getting closer and closer - too deep to drop anchor, I was getting pretty nervous. (Oh! Geico Boat Insurance AIN'T Geico Auto - different culture - different everything - don't fall for it!) I called Captain John (Owner of The Lake Tahoe Boat Co.) - he answered his cell immediately and told me to drop anchor anyway to slow my drift toward the rocks. "I'll come and tow you in right now if you can't reach US Boat!" Well, Geico never answered so I called the number for emergency boat towing in the Tahoe keys and they came & towed me in. Here's a guy (Capt. John) who owns & operates several businesses - like all businesses, suffering labor shortages, and he personally offers to drive to the keys - get in his boat - and tow me home.... Very rare/exceptional customer focus - Daryl, Megan, and everyone at Lake Tahoe Boat Company are the best! Glad I met Capt John!

My boat stays safely stored on its trailer--protected from weather and never sitting in the water. When we're ready to head out, I simply send a text, meet them at the launch ramp, and my boat is waiting. At the end of the day, they meet us back at the ramp, retrieve the boat, cover it, and return it to secure storage. It doesn't get any more convenient. Brad and Nancy Johnson, along with their entire team, are incredibly responsive, professional, and genuinely care about their customers. Brad is the "boat whisperer"--his knowledge is second to none, and if your boat needs maintenance or repairs, there's nobody I'd trust more.
