This little clinic is the best kept secret in the metro for primary care!!!!! My family has…read morereceived nothing but phenomenal, compassionate, and deeply excellent medical care here - we've had wonderful experiences with Dr. Macdonald, Dr. Golden, and Dr. Nelson - and have switched several friends and family to receive care here. I really feel like the staff (everyone from reception to nurses to the docs) cares deeply for you as a patient and finding the best outcome that you feel comfortable with (not the kind of experience you'd have at a Fairview or a HealthPartners). They are super accessible and have urgent appointments if you need, there is always a doctor on call 24/7, and we've never had an issue getting in. This clinic is how primary care should be!!!

I had been with this clinic for 18 and it was a functiona, small, STABLE, clinic. They are awful…read morenow. They no longer have a billing person in house. They use some sketchy person from somewhere in her basement now. She never returns calls either. They use to have 5 very experienced doctors for the first 15 years I was there. Then Dr Nelson went part time to golf and play footsie with Fairview corporate. ALL the rest of the stable doctors all quit or retired. I was forced to change doctors 3 times the last 2 1/2 years. The facility now has 2 PAs, which isn't a huge thing but you now have 1.5 doctors running 2 PAs. And both PA quit after several months. And the one full time doctor slot changes every 18 months. So you have 1/2 a physician with more than 10 years experience. The nurses rock though and total angels. After 18 years it made it hard for me to switch clinics but I CANNOT bear their incompetence any longer. Avoid this clic and just find another Fairview Clinic because RMG is a Fairview offshoot anyway. AVOID at all costs.

I cannot recommend CCRM Minneapolis or Dr. Kohlmier based on my experience…read more After two IVF retrieval cycles, I was left feeling that my care was poorly managed from beginning to end. Throughout my treatment, I experienced repeated mismanagement, inconsistent communication, and recommendations that, in hindsight, should never have been made. On two separate occasions, I was encouraged to proceed with treatment despite test results that should have prompted a serious discussion about canceling the cycle rather than moving forward. Instead of providing thoughtful, individualized medical guidance, I felt pressured to continue treatment, resulting in significant emotional, physical, and financial costs with extremely poor outcomes. My first retrieval resulted in four mature eggs, but none developed beyond fertilization. After that disappointing outcome, I was told my treatment protocol would be revised to improve my chances during a second cycle. However, during my second retrieval cycle, my treatment plan was changed at the last minute from what had been discussed with my physician. The change appeared to be made to avoid delaying treatment another month, despite the fact that postponing the cycle would have been the more appropriate course of action. I was not given the opportunity to make a fully informed decision regarding the revised plan, and I believe that decision negatively impacted my outcome. Before my retrieval, I was repeatedly told to expect two eggs. When I was instructed to administer my trigger shot, the nurse assured me that I would have two eggs and explained that the trigger would slow the maturation of the larger follicle so it could still be retrieved. Instead, only one egg was retrieved, and it did not fertilize. I was later told that one follicle had become overmature and that the other egg was difficult to retrieve. This was especially upsetting because I had specifically relied on the guidance that proceeding with the trigger and retrieval would still result in two retrievable eggs. After investing so much hope, time, money, and trust into this process, it was devastating to experience another unsuccessful cycle under circumstances that I believe could have been handled differently. I wish the clinic had recommended canceling or postponing the cycle rather than encouraging me to proceed simply to avoid losing another month. Communication throughout my care was consistently inadequate. Information provided by nurses often conflicted with discussions I had with my physician, leaving me uncertain about my treatment plan and without confidence that my care team was aligned. As a patient navigating an already stressful process, clear and consistent communication is essential, and unfortunately, that was not my experience. Following my unsuccessful cycles, I submitted a formal complaint in hopes that my concerns would be taken seriously. Instead, my concerns were escalated to administration but ultimately ignored. My attempts to continue the conversation went unanswered, and I was even prevented from replying to one of their messages through the patient portal. Rather than acknowledging what had occurred, addressing my concerns, or making any meaningful effort to rectify the situation, they chose to end the conversation without accountability. Fertility treatment requires an extraordinary amount of trust. Patients deserve individualized medical judgment, transparent communication, and a clinic that is willing to take responsibility when concerns are raised. Unfortunately, my experience with CCRM Minneapolis fell far short of those expectations. Looking back, I wish I had sought care elsewhere much sooner.

Unfortunately, my experience with CCRM has felt no different. If you have the ear of a nurse, support exists but if you don't advocate for yourself, nobody will. Here's why I am so deeply disappointed and honestly heartbroken: Less than a week ago, I met with the Blue Team for my IVF consult. I had joined CCRM about three months earlier and chose to try IUI twice before moving into an IVF protocol. After that consult, the nurse told me to call on cycle day 1 to schedule my baseline ultrasound, bloodwork, and pre-op physical. She also reviewed my stim protocol and ordered our prescriptions. From that point on, our entire focus was on securing our medication for the upcoming cycle.. just days away. When I arrived at the office today, I was told I needed to pay the full outstanding balance for the egg retrieval cycle--nearly $20,000--immediately. My insurance does not cover IVF, so no, I was not shocked by the cost. What I was shocked by was learning that full payment was due at the first appointment. Had someone from the business office contacted me--via message (app), task (app), or phone call--between my consult and today's appointment, I would have been fully prepared. That single communication would have saved me a tremendous amount of time, stress, and heartbreak. Instead, I was offered my first-ever consult with the business office, where I was met with absolutely zero empathy. I was told that today's appointment was "irrelevant" and that a nurse would not be calling me with next steps unless I paid the remaining balance before their office closed, just two hours later. To make matters worse, before my appointment, the front desk staff told me that if I could put something down today, I could pay the remainder by my next visit. I immediately paid $1,500 and had no issue paying the rest, I just needed a few days to move funds between accounts. Instead, I spent three hours driving, undergoing unnecessary ultrasounds and bloodwork, only to be told: Read the fine print. You should have known. Today, CCRM showed me exactly who they are. I feel incredibly stuck because I have already spent over $4,000 on IVF medications. Starting over feels impossible. But for anyone else going through this, I'm so sorry. This process is already hard enough. Emotional enough. CCRM is not it. And honestly, CRM isn't either. These are the "leading" clinics in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, which makes this even more heartbreaking. CCRM describes themselves as offering "compassionate fertility care." What I experienced today was anything but compassionate.
