I was looking for something affordable because we were on a tight budget and Ruben was always willing to work with me to figure out what our best option was. I was worried about the whole thing and now that the wedding is over I can easily say they were the nicest and easiest vendors to work with. All the guests I talked to said the music selection was awesome, some people said they wanted to take a break but they couldn't because they wanted to dance to all the songs Tony was playing, all I can say is I danced for 3 straight hours so that should give you a good idea. The wedding was small but Tony did and awesome job and made sure we were having fun. I HIGHLY recommend hiring them if you're having a party and need a DJ! I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Update based on Gol's response:…read more - Your response to our review is inaccurate and shows the lack of communication we experienced. You told us how busy you were today having 2 other displays/events and it's obvious that we didn't get the best quality based on how busy you were. - We really just wanted to chat through this with you to figure out a reasonable updated price, but you avoided discussing it with us and never responded, so we made this review. - We did not say 6-7pm was fine for pickup. We mutually agreed on 4pm specifically bc our son goes to sleep between 6-7pm and we wanted everything from the party cleaned up before that. - The fact that it fell over again AFTER your employee supposedly fixed it, says it all. We had to go find bags of gravel to try to keep it standing during the middle of our party. - We did not leave her "equipment" in the street. We live in a nice neighborhood and we left your wooden boards near our front door, leaning safely against our house. - Gol was over 3 hours late to pickup her "equipment" so we actually thought we were doing her a favor, bringing everything to the front of our house. Super disappointed to be honest - these things happen. I'm disappointed at how poorly she handled the situation and how blatantly false her response was. ‍ --------------- Original post: Super disappointed bc they have so many 5 star reviews. - They showed up late to setup - The design was not what we asked for and confirmed prior to payment and the pictures she sent us confirming the design were not what she brought on the day of the party. - The display fell over numerous times, nearly falling on a few toddlers playing right next to it. - The balloons repeatedly came off and were popping - They were 3+ hours late in picking up the displays at the end of the day - We politely texted Gol stating why were weren't happy and she said she'd be there in person to address our issues. Instead of talking to us, she picked up her displays with out telling us she was here and stopped responding to us. Never using her services again. You're better off finding someone else!

She had a lot of planning going on so I decided to step in and lend her a helping hand. She asked if she could leave my number down so I can be the contact for confirmation and planning (delivery/pickup time, etc) to which I happily obliged. I thought with all the rave reviews that I wouldn't have to go out of my way to contact them to make sure they still had my order, but I was wrong. We chatted with a rep for the company named Amy R. And she was not pleasant at all. First she said we never confirmed the order so they canceled it. When we asked what form of communication the company used, she said email and phone which is a blatant lie because neither of us received any form of communication. I'm not sure if they had the wrong number down, or wrong email, or there was a glitch in the system, but in no way did they "try to" reach us. As the rep Amy was unprofessional and unhelpful, she wanted to charge us a $50 fee to UNcancel our order. We told her we'd leave a review due to the unfairness and unprofessionalism to which she responded with "good luck with that". We ended up having to desperately look for another company who was able to deliver the same day and pay a little extra, but they were friendlier and more professional. This is a little rant due to frustration, but it's more of a warning to those who are looking to rent from them. Beware of them not coming through on their end. I wouldn't order from this place again to avoid the stress they caused.

"Good Morning Antonia, Just wanted to apologize for the frustration this morning with your heater order, the last thing we want to do is be a headache with event rentals - I will briefly explain a couple of things while we refund your order. It's true that we do have a 100% cancellation policy in place for same-day orders, many places do, and that's simply because many of these are resource-heavy and yet we enjoy fulfilling last-minute needs where needed. Even though it takes a large number of resources and overhead to implement, we know offering same-day services are crucial to events at times. We stop warehouse production in any department necessary, we recall a driver to come gather the new order, and we re-route them back on the road, hopefully balancing other orders already on the schedule.....all in an effort accomodate events in this great city. Secondarily, and more importantly - this cancellation policy will be immediately looked at internally because we should have some flexibility with it. Preparing a rush order for heaters does not consume the same resources as preparing a new order for tents, tables, linen, or cooking equipment - I understand that, and Dorca was simply doing what is asked of her. But this situation brings a good point to mind - when/how/where should we implement some flexibility and can we communicate it better. We will learn. Antonia, Raphaels has been in business in San Diego since 1980, always locally owned, I have been here myself for 16 years now, so we have absolutely NO intention of providing a disservice to our community, we are not interested in nickel and diming our clients, we understand events are a luxury to have and we enjoy being the backbone of many around town. Our intention is not to squeeze every last dime out of anyone - it's simply to be the best partner in town. Please accept my apology for the lack of flexibility with today's order and cancellation policy. It's been five years since my wedding was canceled due to COVID. Like so many others at the time, I…read morewas facing financial uncertainty, but I initially understood why this business chose not to refund my deposit. We were all trying to stay afloat. What I don't understand is why--after all this time--not one person has reached out to me. My calls have gone unanswered. At this point, it's clear they've chosen to keep my money and hope I just go away. Well, they almost got away with it--but I won't stay silent. The least I can do is share my experience so others can make informed decisions. Times are tough again, and now more than ever, people deserve to work with empathetic, customer-focused companies. Out of all the vendors I worked with--some much smaller businesses, and even The Mission Inn in Riverside--every single one handled things with empathy and integrity. This company did the opposite. I never had a wedding due to COVID. That ship sailed years ago. Suggesting I use the deposit for another event is completely unrealistic. I'm not an event planner--what would I even need rentals for now? If the business chooses to respond here with a long, defensive comment instead of simply doing the right thing, don't be fooled. A polished reply from behind a keyboard doesn't change the fact that they've ignored me for five years. This experience has been deeply disappointing. If they're still holding onto deposits from people who never received a service, it says everything you need to know about how they operate.
