She talked me through the experience, showed me the different types of saunas, different temperature cold plunge tubs, where the towels were, lockers, water, etc. She then helped me work through some breathing techniques before and throughout the plunge, counting down the time for me (there's even a neat phone holder to record your plunge). She told me that this Groupon was from the owner in the past and not by them so it was a really confusing situation because she still redeemed it, but didn't want too at the same time. When I asked her what the Groupon entail because I didn't wanna pay anything more or anything less than what I was given and she told me it was just a 90 minute standard massage. The massage wasn't good and it wasn't great however I will say that when I woke up the next morning, my back was aching from being so sore so I'm not too sure what happened there In any case after the massage I was planning to tip the masseuse $10. She then put this bright blue paper in my face that basically said "thank you for your generosity. Here is a suggested tip for 90 minutes was a $35 tip." However, I don't think for my experience $35 could have been justified for at least the first 30-45 minutes she was massaging me with a sheet over my body so it was kind of rough and not the most relaxing thing in the world. When people would walk in the masseuse would leave the room and go attend to them so why would I justify $35 to you? She kept trying to argue with me. That 90 minutes was too much time and that I needed to tip her more but tipping culture has just got out of control because why do you think that you deserve $35 or why do you believe that I have $35 to give you? I'm just glad this was a gift because I definitely would not go back there again. They have like three or four different businesses running out of there, and when I walked in, my masseuse was actually sewing something such a weird atmosphere.

Now the bad: The price for a massage is reasonable, but you must pay an additional 39.00 if you want a to use their lockers or robe, take a shower or use the jacuzzi. This was unexpected and confusing. Before arriving, I had called for clarification of this policy and was only told that they would charge 39.00 for use of the jacuzzi. I had no idea that I wouldn't be given a robe or allowed to shower without paying the extra fee. I'm in a spa club and I have never run into this issue before. This confusion may have been due to a language barrier. The shower area has a sign saying that you must run the hot water for 10-15 minutes to obtain hot water (!). I did so and still had to take a cold shower because the water never got hot. The only towels available are very small and very thin. They are not large enough to wrap around your body. The jacuzzi area shows deferred maintenance with broken tile, missing robe hooks and mold/mildew on the ceiling between the jacuzzi and the showers (ick). I got a voicemail. 5:15 - called again, still voicemail, then I rang the doorbell like ten times, but still nothing. (It's a Ring bell--shouldn't someone be able to see that there's a customer at the door?) I waited until 5:20, but at this point, I was boiling hot because it was 85 degrees and they have no shade anywhere in their parking lot. I was worried I'd get a sunburn. I was also pretty upset by this point, as I had a feeling they'd forgotten about my appointment. I ended up making an appointment with a different spa down the street (shout-out to Harmony Massage & Spa for taking me on such short notice and helping get all those knots out, I highly recommend them!), and while I was in that appointment, Aracieli from Lotus called and said "I apologize, I had a mix-up with the time." In today's day and age of phone organization and calendar reminders, that just doesn't seem responsible to me. Not to mention, I received THREE reminders about the appointment in the days leading up to it. I guess they don't receive the same reminders that their customers do? I can't speak for the quality of service, as I received none, but if you book with these people, I HIGHLY recommend calling at least 1-2 days before your appointment and confirming with an actual person that someone will be there, because if you check their reviews, I am not the first person this has happened to.
