My family recently moved into the neighborhood. We saw a crane trimming a large tree one morning and drove around the neighborhood to look. When we realized it was through Patti's Swim School, we started talking about possibly enrolling our two young children. The gate was open. The wide driveway and parking area looked like the entrance to a business, and we didn't see anything at the entrance saying "Private Property," "No Trespassing," "Appointment Required" or "Enrolled Families Only." We stopped near the gate and began talking to the neighboring property owner. A man named Michael came outside, told us not to speak with her and ordered us to leave because we were trespassing. His tone and manner felt very aggressive and confrontational. The neighbor disagreed with him and said the area was a public or shared-access easement. We had no idea there was apparently some kind of dispute between them. I can't say who was legally right about the easement, and we weren't there to take sides. Michael told us to leave, so we left. I was very angry afterward, but our realtor told me Patti's a reasonable person and that I shouldn't judge the whole school based on one interaction with Michael. I thought that was fair. I waited a day to cool down and emailed Patti directly. I told her what happened and asked three basic questions: Who is Michael? Does he represent the school? Does she think the way he handled the situation was appropriate? She didn't answer any of them. Instead, Patti compared what we did to parking in someone's driveway and walking into their backyard. I don't think that's a fair comparison at all. We drove through the open gate of an operating business and stayed in what looked like its entrance and parking area. We didn't enter anyone's house or backyard. Of course Patti has the right to control access to her property. We left as soon as we were told to leave. But if nobody's able to enter without being enrolled or having an appointment, that should be clear at the entrance. Patti claimed there were signs around the property saying people couldn't enter unless enrolled. I later took photos from the road and still couldn't find that warning at the entrance. What I did see was a small "Welcome to Patti's Swim School" sign. Her email concluded, "I'm sorry if you took offense," and then informed us that the school had a waiting list and couldn't accommodate our children anyway. That doesn't seem like an apology to me. The waiting-list comment felt like an unnecessary, condescending jab. I made a point of not judging Patti's Swim School based only on Michael. I cooled down, contacted Patti privately and gave her a chance to address it. Her response is what ultimately made the decision for me. Again, I can't speak to the quality of the swimming lessons. I can only say that after this interaction and Patti's response, I wouldn't have the trust needed to leave my children in their care. In regard to Lap Swimming…read more Hours are pretty flexible. About twenty lanes with the first part of the pool set for those who water walk and about 16 to 17 lanes to lap swim. Depending on the time of the day, some lanes close, for water classes. Be weary, if you go first thing when they open at 6am, and also when they reopen at 4pm or 5pm. There are groups of people that call themselves "The Regulars". A few of them like to put kickboards on open lanes to save for people in line behind you. Sometimes, if there is a long line on a hot summer day. A "Regular" might show up and just cut to the front of the line outside with another "regular" who is there already. Some of these people can be rude and really like their specific lane. And will throw a fit if you happen to take their lane. Some of these "regulars" will even lie and come up with a sob story for you about their past injuries, just to get a specific lane. The staff have not really monitored/enforced certain rules in the past. Hopefully that changes. You have been warned. The "regulars" are nice, as long as you don't get their lane or get in line ahead of them. Some will even show up 1 to 3 hours before the pool opens in the morning and afternoon in order to get their lane. They mean business and can be cutthroat. The place has a lot of potential. Cosmetic wise, it's what you'd expect of a facility that's almost a 100 years old.

The toddler pool is great for toddlers to get used to the water and there is a depth gradient that will allow them to explore and eventually try to swim. There are also toys provided by the staff for the little ones to play with in the pool. The staff here have always been very nice to us and you can tell that the lifeguards on shift take their jobs seriously. Yes, the facility is almost 100 years old and does show its age, but for $5 total for a baby and an adult as well as the super flexible hours? You just can't beat that deal.

He's had several instructors before, but none have shown the level of patience, understanding, and care that she does. My son is on the autism spectrum and often stims by splashing, and instead of discouraging him, Jocelyn finds creative ways to keep him engaged so the behavior naturally reduces. Because of her approach, he's made phenomenal progress, and we're so proud of him. We first met Jocelyn when she subbed for his lesson, and we switched to her permanently after that day. We even joined her waitlist so he could see her twice a week. He loves his lessons now, and we are so grateful for her. Highly recommend!

She is unprofessional and no manner. The class was unstructured and was not teaching in a classroom setting. She just put the Lego and laptops on the floor so the kids will have to work independently. However, no scope of project or theme was given. It's all free build. My son has never taken any programming class so he doesn't know anything about it. So he keeps asking the teacher questions about how it works. After "too many" questions asked, she scream at him and told him to go back to his seat and do his own stuff. He got frustrated because the teacher was not helpful and not provide any guidance, so he play video games for 3 hours. He said the teacher said it's okay to play video games because it's summer time. After learning the situation on the first day, I talked to Kristy trying to find a solution and then I also went to talk to the teacher on the second day. She was showing me the program that they use on the laptop. After asked my second question trying to find out how the class was structured, she started to get mad and yell at me. She seems to get annoyed pretty easily and have no patience with kids or parents. She's already not teaching and when you ask "too many" question, she will yell at you. Please avoid at all times. Most of their classes in H.A.R.D were cancelled. Now I know why. So their class was just to provide the laptop, software and Legos. Then she gets angry if you ask question. Overall, great place for those with kids. The place is very family oriented and seems like everyone who's there knows everyone. Great spot for birthday parties and other holiday celebrations. It's too bad that the marketplace that was within walking distance had that terrible fire accident. People have said that it was a go-to spot whenever they came to the club.
