I am so proud to have Rec Tec represent Augusta, Ga so well. As an owner of a Big Green Egg, I added a Rec Tec Trailblazer to have something I could load up easily to take on trips. I also wanted to teach my five year old how to grill but knew a kamado grill would be too dangerous. The Rec Tec makes is simple for my daughter to start up and control the temperature. She is learning to grill and we have already created memories together. The first Trailblazer I bought had an issue with the controller. I have had the 680 for about 10 months and I absolutely love it. It makes great smoking much easier without sacrificing taste. I suggest the grill grate with any purchase. Just the other day I had my 680 up to 550 degrees. I went back and fourth for 5 months and finally decided on a Rec Tec. Their customer service and warranty can not be beat. I have talked a few friends into buying the 680, 700, and a Bullseye. All of them are just as happy as I am. Heck you get the owners cell numbers with the purchase. You'll never need it with their great customer service but still a cool thing to do. I also have the Matador which is super portable and great for breakfast, chili/stew, or deep frying. My next purchase will be the Bullseye and the comp cart for my 680 (discontinued). By-the-way my buddy got his Bullseye up to 900 degrees. Great company and great products. If I could give a 10 star rating I would. We've had our Rec Tec for 3 years. When we had an issue with the igniter and went to purchase a new one, they said it was on them. We recently moved to California and the movers taped the lid of our grill shut. When it arrived, the adhesive stuck to the lid. I contacted Rec Tec and they took care of us AGAIN! I have owned Traegers since 2003, from the Jr model to the Timberline Pro. This is my first Recteq. I have watched them build their business for years and have always been impressed. I needed a portable smoker/bbq I could fit in the basement of my 5th wheel and still be a good quality bbq. This is hands down the best! It was shipped from Georgia to Oregon and arrived in perfect condition. Thanks UPS! The build quality is far better than Traeger! So much thick, high quality stainless steel! And the Wifi is so easy to establish/connect. Even though Traegers wifire has a lot to offer on progammabilty, it usually doesn't work and its just complicated. I just received my RT340 grill and pellet bundle today. The box shows "made in China" in several places. I called because I thought the website said "made in USA" (go to RT340, details, scroll down to features), but was told that refers to the pellets. The actual grill is made in China, the computer and power coat is made in USA and it's assembled in Georgia. I'm sure it will be a great grill once we use it, but I feel Recteq could have done a better job with transparency on their website. I had two Traegers, which I did not care for, for many reasons. The Rec Tec Grill is far superior, there really is no comparison. However, what is even better than the grill is their level of customer service. Whenever I called with a small problem or question, Travis, Lloyd or one of the others immediately (and patiently) took care of it. If it was a needed or warranty part, they shipped it overnight. I can think of few (if any!) firms that do a better job after the sale. They are very helpful people. read more

By far the best grill I've ever owned. The RT-590 replaced a Pit Boss that failed pretty spectacularly. The build quality of the new grill itself is far superior to the one it replaced. It easily nailed all the staples I have been grilling for years such as steaks/burgers/brats, etc. Additionally, the rest of the infrastructure that Rec Tec has built is amazing. Easy to follow recipes in the app for just about every type of food you can think of, rubs and sauces, and even live streams of entertaining Chefs cooking on their products makes it pretty difficult to mess up on stuff that you are trying for the first time. read more

I've had my 680 now 2 years. (Newer version is the 700). I've been outdoor cooking for almost 50 years (yep, I'm old). This grill gets used a lot - a lot. Awesome doesn't due it justice. I've never had so much fun cooking on a grill 'cause it is idiotproof and omg cooks great. All the other stuff they do is nice (hit their web page) and a shout out to their chefs and their children. I bought my grill early December and wanted to wait to use it a while before doing a review. This review is about both the business as well as the product. I do not normally take the time to do reviews but thought the company has done something so well that it deserves the praise and recognition. The review is long, but has a lot of information that anyone thinking of buying from Rec Tec should think about. Nothing is ever perfect, but for me, the mark of a business is what it does when problems occur. My experience with Rec Tec impressed me both with their product as well as with their customer support and attitude to their customers. As I said, I ordered the grill December, wanting to have it for Xmas. When I checked on the shipping on the internet, the shipper's website made me worry. It included a reference that the product had been shipped to a hub on December 7, but that by December 12 they still could not locate it. What's with that? I sent Rec Tec an email querying what was happening and got a response within an hour to say that their records (more detailed than are available to us online) showed that UPS had found it and were proceeding with the shipping. The grill had mistakenly been loaded onto the wrong truck and sent in the wrong direction. All good - I thought.......... A couple of days later UPS phoned to arrange a delivery window. They gave me a delivery window of 1pm-5pm. Wide window, but I understood given the holiday season. On the day, I waited at home, after taking a day off work. By 5pm, no delivery and no contact from UPS. When I called them, they told me that the weather had caused problems and that the driver was just finishing a delivery but I would be next and that it would be delivered before 6:30 pm. I told them I was a little (actually a lot) disappointed that they hadn't bothered to phone me to say they were running late, and that I expected them to treat my time as if it was as valuable as their time. After apologies etc., they promised they would do better and I would get my grill that evening. You know what happens next............by 6:30pm, still no grill and still no word from UPS. When I called them again, they told me their driver was still at least 30 minutes away and that their lift gate had malfunctioned, so even if he did come, he probably would not be able to deliver the grill. Once again I had the discussion with them why they hadn't bothered to call me (they had my number) to let me know instead of making me sit at home waiting for something that was not coming. I told them I would not be home any longer that evening and that they could deliver the next day by 11am or I would cancel the purchase. I then sent Ben at Rec Tec an email describing the problem and my frustration, although I acknowledged that it was not their fault. Ben responded immediately, and they made sure that UPS delivered the next morning. After delivery was done, when I contacted Ben to confirm, he immediately told me that he was reimbursing my delivery charge as UPS had not delivered the service he expected and that I deserved. That is what I mean by taking care of the customer. I did not ask for any reimbursement, but he realized that UPS's messups called for something. So despite the problems, Rec Tec's customer service left me feeling good about the purchase and the company. SO, ON TO THE GRILL. A couple of my friends have the grill, so I knew how it worked etc., although I had not assembled one. Assembly was easy - even for one person. It took an hour, but the layout and explanations were simple. Once assembled, the product just works. GREAT. It makes BBQ easy and efficient and the food is fantastic. The smoke flavor comes through fantastically and the smoke ring and bark are phenomenal. It has broadened my repertoire. I have done ribs, brisket, chicken and even fish. Pretty decent construction and looks great on our deck. We live in a colder part of the country, which I was able to deal with on our old pellet grill (another brand). I wanted a new grill with the wifi features etc, but refuse to follow all the man buns buying their traegers at Walmart, so the reqteq seemed to fit the bill. After a successful summer of great grilling, we moved into cooler temps. Started noticing extensive preheating times with temps even as high as 40-50 degrees. I reached out to reqteq, asking about a blanket which is offered by many other grill mfg, and just got the standard pat on the head email reply, "oh you're doing it wrong, you're pellets are bad, nothing wrong with our stuff. Have a nice day". Not impressed, but since I can use their lame app somewhat reliably, I'll just burn the 50% more pellets to get to temp and roll w it. What am I gonna do, package it up and ship it back? Yeah right. read more

I purchased the RT 300 last July and have used it pretty much every weekend since. My family loves the tri-tip and said I have ruined eating out for them! I love this grill but that is just the beginning. 3 days ago we had a huge windstorm in the San Gabriel Valley where I live in California. The awning over my BBQ area was destroyed and knocked over my grill landing on the bull horn handles denting the lid and cracking the porcelain. I went to the RecTec website to look for a replacement lid but did not see one. I called customer service and explained what happened and asked if they sold replacement lids. I don't recall the gentleman's name but he stated he didn't think they had any of the red porcelain lids but then stopped and said he actually had one in his office and would ship it out that same day. When I asked what the cost would be he said there would be no charge! This is the second time I have called their customer service Dept and the service was phenomenal! I looked at many other pellet grills and none can compare in quality and craftsmanship but RecTecs customer service is by far the best! Thank you read more

I feel I need to publicly recognize the AMAZING customer service that the folks at Rec Tec provide. I bought a Rec Tec about a year ago, and loved every aspect of it, except one: I could not get my grill to 500 degrees. I called them and they helped walk me through possible solutions, but nothing worked. Over the course of the next 6 to 8 weeks, they overnighted me a series of parts to try and help. Unfortunately, none of them did the trick. I was able to cook terrific food, but just not at 500 degrees. I finally decided that I had explored all that could be done, and theorized that the issue was my high altitude in Colorado. Fast forward to a month ago, when my dad purchased a Rec Tec on my recommendation. Keep in mind he knew that my Rec Tec didn't get to 500. He was still so impressed with the food that came off of my grill, he ordered anyway. Once he got it put together, he showed me that he was reaching the illusive 500 degrees. I thought I'd call just to see if they had any new ideas, but didn't expect much after nearly a year without hearing from me. After a conversation with Ben, he offered to send me a brand new grill to replace my grill that cooked great, just couldn't get to 500. He even threw in some extra pellets for my trouble! I have never had such a positive experience working with any business. You can just set it and walk away for 12 hours and have the best tasting brisket money can buy or in 5 minutes have great tasting burger and or everything in between.
