I was so happy and glad that he put in effort to help me. I thanked him immensely and let him know how appreciated he is. I will from now on make sure to have my items correctly separated and properly sorted. ......On 07/12 I came to drop off a few items and mistakenly one item was taken. I went back to the facility to ask for my item back, but they refused. The manager refused to give me my item. I was very distraught. I had anxiety. I asked him why you wouldn't just give me my item that was mistakenly taken instead of making it so frustrating. I've gone to this facility for probably 10+ years and I've never had a problem until this time and I was just so surprised and take it back that they wouldn't help me. I called and left a message on the message line to see if there was anyone to help me but at this point I feel like it's a total loss. Overall, do visit this facility they care and they will help you if something goes wrong.

They didn't believe me and ask my DL and say they will check my id against known registered business. Happy to comply and Of course it retuned nothing because what I told them is the truth - precious house owner left me this junk. I had an urgent need to have wood construction debris removed from the side of my house. I had…read morescheduled appointments with two more well known residential companies then I saw Alameda Junk Collectors. I know these type of companies don't typically provide quotes until they actually see the load to haul away but I was looking for ballpark costs. I had told the first two companies I estimated what I had could probably fill their truck. I made appointments with both companies for the same appointment window - I figured I'd set the stage for some competitive bidding. In the meantime I called Alameda Junk Collectors and left a voicemail. Mark responded same day via text in the evening. Via text I indicated the debris was for an area of roughly 10' x 20'. Based off of that Mark provided a quote that was arguably HALF of what I was quoted by one of the other companies. We setup an appointment for 11am two days later and I canceled the other appointments. Mark and his helper Nat were at my house at 10:45 ready to go! Mark looked at the debris indicating the quote was still good. He and Nat meticulously loaded the haul so they could maximize the space for another job after mine. Once the truck was loaded they cleaned the area where the debris was piled up. The complete job from start to finish took just under two hours time. Jado Recycling took over the exact same spot rePlanet use to be at. Their setup was the same except they required you to remove all caps from your bottles. I remember rePlanet didn't make you do that. I went in the afternoon and the line was long. There were 2 people working so everything moved along a little bit quicker than I expected. One person checked if you had the right containers that was eligible to get your money back and the other person weighed your containers and payed you on the spot. There wasn't a lot of talking but some loud Mexican music blasting from a speaker. Make sure you separate all your cans, plastics bottles, glass bottles and everything else. The trash bins that they had you put your containers in weren't the cleanest. Some people wore gloves but I made sure to have some hand sanitizer ready in my car when I was done.

You first sort your bottles and cans into the garbage cans provided. Then, a staff member weighs your items and pays you in cash. The garbage cans provided are kind of grungy, so I always wear gloves. It's worth it for me to drive from Oakland to Alameda to recycling my cans and bottles. It's a win-win situation! Your discarded cans and bottles get recycled for other purposes and you get a little cash for your efforts.
