Came here with a friend the other day and we loved it! I haven't been to an orchard in years, so paying $30 for a half bushel seemed very expensive. But oh well! They have tons of different produce throughout the year, but we can during Apple season. They have a variety of apples, so that was a plus. A few petting animals are there so that was cute. The gift shop part was my favorite: they have certain foods they make with their apples! So I bought their hot apple salsa and ate it all the next day. So good!! read more

What makes this place stand out is the smells of bbq .I know what your saying bbq at an apple orchard, but I tell you the pulled pork was the best that I've ever had in my life! We went to the Red Apple farm last year after a tip from an elderly relative. (yes, not always a good bet, but we were willing to give it a shot) After a drive that our 2 year old deemed "too long", we were happy to arrive at the farm early on a Saturday morning. This place did not dissapoint! The workers were efficient & friendly, bathrooms clean, orchards packed with apples and farm animals a hit with the kids. The little wagon made out of an old apple crate was awesome to roll out little one around in- not to mention the super cute pictures it created! We picked lots of apples, took lots of pictures, petted way too many pigs and ate delicious BBQ food before packing it in and heading back home. Oh...did I mention we also bought two dozen cider donuts and loved each and every bite? read more

Oh! So nice! Want to get a taste of what New England was like, before the Industrial Revolution? Come here. It's an Agrarian Paradise. It's a real farm, not a petting zoo. They grow tons of varieties of apples. Well, I love that. It's an ecologicallly sound practice, and it extends their growing season. Which, also extends their picking season, and it also extends their financial viability. It's a real farm, not for show. You should see this great set-up. They do it right. And you should make sure this type of family farm doesn't die out. We need it. We need to keep agriculture alive in New England, because we surely can't afford to keep importing produce from halfway round the world. read more

I sadly haven't been here in years. However in a sleepy little area of Massachusetts where the closest grocery store is (was?) a few exits off the highway, this place is awesome. I had family that lived within waling distance of here and we could pick apples and pumpkins, enjoy hot cider and a tasty donut while amusing ourselves with the animals that call this place home. I've been visiting the Red apple Farm for nearly 10 years. The staff is composed largely of local H.S. students and are really pleasant and helpful. There are always plenty of apples, pumpkins, pears, etc. And the atmosphere is very relaxed and there are many acres to wander in search of the perfect apple variety (there are lots!). They recently built a large new food stand and served burgers, hotdogs, fries, etc. as well as great homemade fudge and hot cider and cider donuts in the shop. They have bunnies, a petting zoo and hayrides for the kids. I've been to other places and will happily drive the extra miles for the peace and quiet as well as the beautiful views. read more

Went on an outing with my grandkids. It was so much fun! We took a tractor pulled wagon ride to pick apples. The driver described all the different kinds of apples they grow and which was are available to pick. Next, we took another tractor pulled wagon to pick pumpkins. The apples were abundant but I am not the expert on which are the best tasting apples. As far as the pumpkins go, they also come in different varieties. I guess it is early in the season for pumpkins because they were on the smaller side. Back at the Barn, we sat for a snack. They have a variety of food; BBQ, cider donuts, fudge, nuts, etc. They also have a variety of gift items to purchase in the store. Besides apples and pumpkins to pick, they have a variety of berries, potatoes, peaches, pears and squash (in season). And what would a farm be without animals. My grandsons were chasing the chickens, waving to the goats and petting the bull. It was definitely a terrific time. read more

Do not pick apples here this year. They are horrible. There is a sign indicating there was a hail storm and that their apples were damaged, yet they are still selling the apples at full price. That is $30.00 for a half bushel of horribly horribly damaged apples. I have been coming here for several years, but won't be back for apples. Go for the cider donuts and to walk around the farm, but don't pick the apples. You will be very disappointed. I would like to emphasize their apple cider donuts are amazing. So while I was unhappy with their apples, the donuts were amazing. AGAIN the apples were so horribly damaged you may walk out with less than a bagful. I really just don't understand whey they were not selling the apples at a reduced price considering how badly damaged they were. read more

Red Apple Farm has many great things going for it - lovely location, great apples, delicious cider and a wonderful store to buy all kinds of goodies.They also have an event space out back you can rent for weddings, parties, etc. While we there on a recent Saturday a wedding party drove through to their party - fun! The whole place was clean and picturesque. A definite must -do for a fall weekend. Unfortunately, the BBQ let down the experience quite a bit for us. The line was long with only one person taking orders. Then the credit card system went down. Not their fault but it gummed everything up terribly. They should have sent out some folks with nibbles to keep us all happy but instead they just milled around trying to find someone to get it working. Now this is a BBQ set up and it is all open to see. So we're watching the kid at the fryer repeatedly drop the same batch of onion rings over and over into the oil to keep them warm. We WERE planning to get some OR's but not any longer (we were next in line and those grease laden bad boys would've been ours!). Not for $4.75! Then my husband's burger's bun literally shattered from being over toasted. sigh. Back up and another wait to get another burger. On the plus side my pulled pork sandwich was very tasty. They need to fine tune their food operations - especially when it's busy. We would definitely go back (seriously, the cider was AWESOME!), but would bring our own lunch next time! read more

If there were 100 stars, I would give all 100 to Red Apple Farm. We had just had a horrible experience at Hamilton Orchards (see the review I gave that horrible place) and by sheer last minute idea stuff decided to see Red Apple Farm on our way home to Rhode Island. We were instantly cheered up after being totally bummed by Hamiilton Orchards. Simply put, Red Apple Farm is to die for. So New England, so apple, so vintage, a leaf-peepers paradise. An apple picker's paradise. A wandering around New England paradise. The kids working there were just adorable and couldn't be friendlier. Lots of old stuff all over, the BBQ outside place, apple picking, animals to pet - wow. Too bad we were on our way home and it was raining, but you can be sure we'll be back many times when we want a true New England experience. Take my daughter here all the time because she loves to feed and pet the animals(goats, donkeys, and a bull who's scary looking but extremely gentle and calm). It has huge apple fields, pumpkin fields, blueberries. The store is Great, as are the staff. Food at the outdoor BBQ is really good. We had our wedding here and the staff couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating! It was a beautiful backdrop with the apple trees and pumpkin patch. The country store and petting farm were a big hit with our guests as well. I can't say enough good things about this place. We loved it so much we went back the day after our wedding just to hang out! Kelly was our event coordinator but sadly won't be in that position any longer but she was incredible and her calm demeanor kept this bride from losing it! We love red apple farm :) read more

Okay so disclaimer: I haven't actually BEEN here, but it's the only place I can find to review the UNREAL donuts that they sell in the Boston Public Market. If the apple cider donuts are unreal at the market I'm sure they're equally as outstanding or better at the farm. I also got an apple from the market at RAF's stand and it was delicious. But the cider donuts, if you are on a diet or anything stick with the one, because if you get a dozen YOU WILL EAT THEM ALL AT ONCE. Freshly fried too. read more

We had a chance to make it out to Red Apple Farm from the Boston area the other weekend and had a blast! The 1 hour, 20 minute drive was definitely worth it... the selection of apples was great, the farm felt authentic, the food was tasty, and the shop offered a nice selection of local treats and merchandise. After a quick stop to check out the farm animals (cows, rabbits, chickens, goats, sheep, etc.), we headed out to the orchards to pick some apples. Be prepared to do a lot of picking--the smallest bag you can buy is a half-bushel, so you're going to end up with a lot of apples! Overall, the orchards were lovely. They offer the most varieties of apples I've ever seen on one farm, as well as pears and pumpkins (and other fruits in the summer). The map was very helpful and the trees are mostly marked individually so you know what you're picking, although there were some missing labels here and there. If you want to have the chance to visit every orchard, be prepared for some walking (or mucking around, depending on the weather). Some of the orchards are more of a walk from the parking area, although there are also several close-by, including one that would be pretty easy to access with a wheel chair or stroller, if necessary. On weekends in the fall, Red Apple Farm offers a BBQ lunch: pulled pork, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, fries, and onion rings. The pulled pork was tasty, and it was nice to have the option of having a full lunch there, considering that the farm didn't seem to be located near many other lunch spots. Don't miss out on the bakery window! The cider donuts were fabulous, and they also offer a variety of other apple desserts, as well as a selection of ice creams. The shop was also lots of fun. There they sell a variety of apples, including some that were no longer available for picking in the orchard (but, like I said, there are plenty of varieties available to pick--this isn't one of those places where you can only pick Macs and Red Delicious apples). They also stock a variety of products made (and mostly grown) either locally or on the premises, including fruit butters and jams, apple cider, peanut butter, and maple syrup. Oh, and if you didn't fully sate your sweet tooth with the bakery window, you can also buy a full selection of fudges, candies, and pies in the shop. read more

Red Apple "farmers" were above and beyond I could ever expect when I lost my car keys at the farm last summer! (Yeah, as stupid as it could get!) Farm owner organized a group of 10 workers to help my boyfriend find the keys while I was given all resources to try to find our way out in case the keys couldn't be found. Meanwhile the girls in the kitchen gave me a warm fresh donuts and encouragement while I was calling and crying. My whole family loved this place.We arrived had lunch and set out to pick apples.There were so many kinds of apples to choose from and my 2 year year old granddaughter loved the farm animals. We've been here before and it was great. Not so much today however. So you go purchase your $30 bag for apples and there are signs indicating that there was a hailstorm and as a result the apples were marred. Every single apple we picked was blemished. I'm not buying the hailstorm excuse. Hail comes from the sky so how were the apples on the low branches damaged?? Furthermore the trees were practically stripped bare. The ones still on the trees were too high up to reach. Also the cider donut/ice cream window was slower than molasses, literally. Be sure to check weather.com to make sure there haven't been any recent hailstorms. read more

I enjoyed the Fall Festival, but it seemed unfortunate that females had to wait in line to use the bathroom while men entered and exited more frequently. The solution to this is to remove the urinal and have both bathrooms remodeled and made unisex ( as is done now on newly constructed aircraft carriers). The other "Family Bathroom" should be converted to handicap access with a ramp for wheelchairs.To do this, the sidewalk would need to be widened by moving the sidewalk back about three feet and the overhang extended to cover the new widened sidewalk. Never been apple picking before so I was not sure where to go until I read several Yelp reviews. So I decided to go to the Red Apple Farm. It was terrific and I recommend it highly. Reasonably price. I did not have to pay for admittance just for the apples. Great cider donuts and BBQ. Also decent selection of pumpkins. They also have a potato patch. They offer hayrides and petting zoo for kids. I will return next summer probably a little earlier for the opportunity to pick pears and berries. read more

With due respect to the first reviewer here , despite her downplaying of the "petting zoo" factor here--because for a long time, and unless things have changed, a main "feature"--for those who like that kind of thing--or are bringing along kids who'd be apt to find farm animals and the "chance" to feed them (at incredibly high prices for the grain you have toand not to be overly harsh on this, but if bringing kids, unless they're very well disciplined ones, plan to bring a bunch of extra money for cute animal feeding at this farm, because this farm has long featured a bunch of cute animals prominently featured (where its hard to avoid them) available for feeding at ASTRONOMICAL prices for the grain you are expected to buy. Also, frankly, when I helped bring a group of developmentally disabled adults to this place, and a humongous overcharging-for-puchase incident occurred --discount "drops" and "seconds" apples had been selected, but the (overly?) young sales clerk at first rang up "full price" for them--this happening to be a very high price--the clerk became defensive to the point of unpleasant. Yes mistakes can happen, but many if not most farms of this sort would, I think, if anything , in the first place favor the customer not the farm if there were any doubt in determining correct price--since most small orchards really aren't really all that out to make the big bucks or to be all that concerned about the money side--since for big profits and money there are probably other types of businesses promising more.And in the second place and even more so, in this setting for a clerk to become snide and defensive upon having a big price overcharging incident pointed out--and that no less than something tried upon a special, somewhat less than competent clientele-- says in my opinion, only too much, unfortunately about this farm, --or maybe I should say, this "business" . I surely hope this place, in the nice setting that , yes, it physically is in, will begin to climb back down--as to these mentioned aspects, and others I won't now get into--toward trying regaining simpler more down to earth qualities which a farm like this could, and maybe should, try to feature. read more

First time visiting red apple farm and came because of yelp reviews.parking was plentiful, beautiful grounds.started out having lunch and the food was great. Grilled sausage with peppers and onions,burgers and baked potato with bacon (real) and sour cream. Has an outdoor BBQ pit and grill.a lot of attention is payed to cleanliness.extremely clean. Wiping down picnic tables,staff picking up small trash in and around all of the grounds with sanitation pickers.staff is very friendly and helpful.other ammenities include farm stand with homemade condiments, dressings,chutneys etc. Hot cider donuts were the best I've had out of any farm and believe me i've had my share. Brick oven apple crisp al a mode and cotton candy for the kids. Now for the reason why we came here, the PYO apples and pumpkins. First the orchards are beautiful and very scenic. Apples are plentiful with different varieties to choose from. Pumpkin patch was huge. Lots of sizes and gourds. Also few animals to see and pet.
