WOW! This place is so cool! The rooms are big the bathroom is set up to were it's like two sections. The shower and toilet are in the back with a separate door. The sink is available for someone else to use while another showers. Immaculately clean. Highly recommend this place $130 for a double. That's awesome for the area. Don't forget to let your housekeeper know you appreciate their hard work by leaving a a note and tip thanking them. They need to know they're not forgotten. read more

What an awful experience our family has had here. We came in for a funeral and had reserved 6 rooms. Got charged for 7 and that extra room was charged for 3 nights, almost $400. Another couple in our group didn't stay, they had their own reservation, and their card was charged, refunded and charged again ($300). They never even stayed at the hotel. The got a couple confused with handicap rooms and then moved our families things out of the room even though they had a second night booked. read more

This is a place that is in need of remodel/upgrade. I would have gone somewhere else but it wasn't an option. This is just a place that gives you a feeling like you don't want to walk on the carpet barefoot, toe carpet had a huge stain and so did th a piece of furniture. The chair seat is shredding. My stay here ended up being a very disappointing experience due to repeated issues with communication and professionalism. At one point, maintenance entered my room while I was away without any notice beforehand. I was also required to switch rooms for a night because of plumbing problems and then move back again the next morning, which was extremely inconvenient after long workdays. What concerned me most was staff later attempting to open my room door without knocking while I was inside the room. As a paying guest, that felt completely inappropriate and invasive. After checkout, I was told my $50 deposit would be kept because the bathroom was "dirty," towels were "stained," and food had been left in the refrigerator. Considering I spent most of my time away working and was mainly only there to sleep, I did not feel those claims justified withholding my deposit. The room itself was not damaged in any way. Overall, the experience left me feeling uncomfortable and poorly treated as a guest. Better communication, professionalism, and respect for guest privacy would go a long way here. read more

I've worked literally every county and town in western CO and Montrose is the absolute worst for hotels. Do not stay here! This was one of the dirtiest motels I have ever stayed at. The room had a horrible smell, the shower had mold on ceiling and curtain. The walls had splash marks of who knows what all over. Behind the nightstand and bed there was so much lint, hair, garbage. The bed had crumbs in them and there were spiders. This is an older motor court that could use some updating. The staff was great, the rooms were spacious, and the rates were good. Lighting was very poor in the room, but great in the bathroom area. I was really excited to stay here. I took a week long road trip and stayed someplace new every night. Unfortunately the date was wrong on the reservation. I tried called multiple times and always got forwarded to voicemail. I left multiple messages and no one ever called me back. I finally found an email and they said I would have to cancel within 24 hours so they couldn't help me. I tried to explain that I called for days and never got a call back but they did not care. I also stated I didn't want to cancel but simply change my dates and I would pay any differences there was. We spent two nights here and I would not recommend tit to anyone. The carpet was filthy, bathroom tiles cracked. no closet and two hangers on a hook. The pool was empty and covered, furniture piled in a corner and the fitness room was locked. To get the free continental breakfast, you had to order at the front desk and wait 10 mins or so before they brought it to you. Do not let the online pictures fool you. The outside of this hotel is clean. But, the dead grass is full of weeds, ants, trash and stickers. Our room was a good size for our family. However, it was NOT the room we thought we were getting from the pictures. Our so called secluded sitting area.. well speaks for itself. The room was equipped with ac, but no heat. Yes it's the middle of June, but the evenings were very cold. The carpet was stained, dirty , outdated and smelt of urine. The walls were dirty. The bathroom has what looked like boogers smeared all over. The soaps were so old the would not sud up to wash hands. The tub area floor has caked up dirt in the corners, hair in the tub and walls with "boogers". The tv remote would only turn on n off tv. Our room was never cleaned, fresh linens or towels. We had to constantly go to the front desk for supplies. At check in, there was a "clean pens" and a "dirty pens" container and plexi glass separation.. so you would think the rooms would have been better cleaned. Only one person working front desk. So getting help was hard. For the size of our family, the room was good in size. But the cleanliness was disappointing. And extremely outdated! read more

I liked staying here! The room was much bigger than I expected and breakfast is hot and ready in the morning to grab n go. The front lady (Doris) even called us in the morning to tell us breakfast was ready and over at 9 (she called at 8:50). The beds, seem comfy, ice machines have ice, and it's only about 20 minutes from black canyon of the gunnison national park. I would be happy to stay here again. Downtown area is also super cute with lots of restaurants and shops a mile or so away. read more

This location is fantastic. Only a few minutes from the shops downtown, and very close to the Gold's gym. I stayed in the king mini suite, and was so pleasantly surprised with it. It was extremely clean, the bed was SO comfortable, and there was even a little heater (I'm always cold so I loved that!). The bathroom had really nice lighting (really rare in hotels), and a jetted tub. There's an indoor hot tj on the premises, and they have a delicious breakfast, I had a made to order omelette. One of the beds had not been changed from the previous guest because when I pulled back the covers there were short curly hairs on the sheet. I slept on the other bed which had been changed but was still uncomfortable with a mattress pad not able to cushion the springs. The carpet was gross and the floor creaked as I walked and I was on the ground floor. This place won't be on my list of places to stay the next time I am in the area. read more

Repeat visitor to this dog friendly establishment. The staff is nice and works very hard to keep this historic building clean and updated. The rooms are large (twice the size of most chain hotels), the bathrooms are updated to normal height showerheads & adult sized toilets, the wifi is solid, and the breakfast is warm (farm fresh eggs cooked however you want & more). It consists of 3 separate buildings, each serving a different purpose. The ground floor dog building rooms (and some others) have a front & rear door, the rear door opens up to your small patio with chairs and a large lush grass field. The lobby of the check-in building has cookies & coffee. Their rewards program is called Belly, you can download the app for it or pick up a keychain card at the front desk. Easy parking, and there's a Mexican restaurant a stone throw away. If you can appreciate a historic hotel that has been updated this is a nice safe place to stay. However if you have high class expectations and demand the new and latest everything you may want to check the 2 much more expensive hotels in the area. read more

When arrived the front desk staff had an attitude and were impatient then when we arrived to our room the "patio" door didn't open and the main door barley opened. Our carpet had stains and our beds had hair and dirt in them. The shower head only had one mode and had some green stuff on them. The bars on the a/c were broken. Our room hadn't been renovated since 80's or 90's and the maids don't clean they just cover stuff and they didnt replace our towels they just refolded them. Our whole room was dusty and showed signs that nobody had been in them for awhile and the bathroom was invested with earwigs. read more

While the husband was fishing, I made reservations at the Red Arrow so I would not have to worry about Montrose booking up during the last week of vacation. It was an AAA suggestion, our last night, and I just wanted a nice clean room and if possible "with a view". We checked in and told we were in the building behind the front desk. The husband and I pulled around to our building and walked up to our room. As the door opened, I let out a WOW!!!! The room was huge, we had a balcony overlooking a beautifully landscaped lawn, and the amenities were upscale. Breakfast was a bit above all the other continental breakfasts we had as they offered fresh fruit and fresh baked goods. The young couple running the place were the children of the owners so you could tell there was pride in this family business. We even had a note asking us if we would like to stay another night, if so the price dropped $30,00!!!! Maybe after the other places we stayed at this just seemed so much better but I will always stay at the Red Arrow when in Montrose. read more

Yes, I kid you not. Our personal belongings in our room where moved. They lie and say maintenance smelled pot by our room (standard line). We said, really, what time? She said 10am, when we had been gone since 7am. Aside from this the hotel (is it even a hotel?) is filthy, outdated badly, the last persons trash was left almost under the bed. Please save your money. You can stay at a nice place, or pay like you did by being accused of something you didn't do. Last. I was in fear in the parking lot as 2 (40's-50's) maintenance men where picking up trash around my vehicle. Hanging out there way too long. Gawking at me, licking their lips. Men, please watch out for your woman and children. These people are very creepy. The older lady we checked in with had a tattoo on her boob with major cleavage. Lets just put it that way. Same lady we made come to our room to show her how bad it smelled of cigarette smoke because we didn't want to be blamed, she claimed she would make note of that and that we would have no problems, yet she said nothing when we were accused of smoking pot in their room. Stayed here after refusing to stay at the Days Inn just down the street. That place was a complete dump. Called Red Arrow and spoke to Doris at the front desk, got a 2 night reservation. Due to Covid, the breakfast option is an order ahead breakfast sandwich. Order the night before by 7 and pick up at the front lobby in the morning. We didn't utilize it, but were surprised they even have the option. Red Arrow was clean, but old. The bed was comfy, the AC worked great albeit a little loud, and the fridge kept our beverages cold. Is it fancy? No. Is it clean, quiet and well maintained? Yes. read more

This hotel is one of the nicer ones if you are looking to be closer to town and have a quality service experience. The rooms have nice beds and it is easy to get to the monument or town for food. There is a good Mexican restaurant next door. A huge bonus is a HOT breakfast bar!! I have a lower review because there is an RV park behind the hotel and the fixtures and windows were outdated, and I didn't feel 100% safe traveling alone. read more

We stayed here for two nights and were very pleased. We were checked in by a very friendly & welcoming lady. I believe her name was Jerra. Our room was huge and very clean. The beds were comfy and our view was of a nice lawn area with huge tree. The only negative about our room was that the floor was very loud when you walked. Like old squeaky wood floors. I wonder if it's the same upstairs? Fortunately, there didn't appear to be anyone above us. There is always fresh coffee, fruit, and warm cookies available in the lobby. The breakfast is very good and you get farm fresh eggs cooked to order. I personally loved the fruit turnovers. This is not a chain hotel. I know that it used to be a Best Western, but it is now privately owned. They offer a nice clean & comfortable room at fair prices. Nothing fancy, but definitely welcoming and homey. We were told that they get their eggs and fruit from local farmers. I love that they are supporting their community. All staff members that we came in contact with were friendly, but Jerra was fantastic. We will definitely return and would not hesitate in recommending. read more

This place is family run and it shows - they are extremely warm, helpful and do everything they cant to make you feel comfortable. If the Four Seasons had a sibling that was uber low budget, this would be it. I staid here when a flight was cancelled out of Montrose. Their staff picked us up at the airport late at night, got us settled and then the next morning had our breakfast already bagged up to-go since we had to leave before they started serving. This place was pretty great for a older hotel. The breakfast is better than the average hotel bre 5akfast. Your eggs are made to order which is a very nice option. The rooms are quite large and ours had a backdoor which opened up allowing you to enjoy a giant yard area. The staff was very friendly they checked in on us about 10 mins after we got to our room to make sure all was well. The room was quiet. Other than the place being older I'd give it it a 5 star rating. * we stayed at the super 8 a couple weeks ago as it has a slightly higher rating. This place is HIT! or MISS! and this trip, they missed. We stayed here in March and were greeted warmly on the phone while making reservations. The stay continued to be pleasant with the staff always willing to help out, take care of anything we needed and ALWAYS had plenty of fresh coffee in the lobby as well as the breakfast area. Fast forward two months and wow, things are different. No coffee in the lobby 2 days in a row. Out of vanilla coffee at breakfast, asked if they had any more ready.... wouldn't ya think they'd be perking ahead during the breakfast hours? Curt answers and just not the same warm welcome feeling. Beds are OK, rooms are clean enough... just was missing something. I'd pick this one over MANY of the other hotels in the area, but would opt for Quality Inn first. read more
