Wonderful views, expert advice on hiking, fishing, off-roading, paddle boarding/kayaking, etc. the office/lobby is very clean, welcoming, natural wood and fabrics. The breakfast is fantastic and changes daily. The rooms are quaint, old-timey, but very clean and comfortable with a fridge in our room. Beds are nice, towels too! We met literally everybody else who was staying there. One night, one of the guests played guitar and sang around the fire pit for four hours. Robert and Ginny left us s'more fixings and we had a grand party. You'd do well to enjoy the hospitality, ambience, breakfast and views of this nice little gem. Yet, it combines art, farm-to-table restaurants, organic farms, vineyards, a local brewery and traditional farming.  I started looking for accommodations around Paonia where I could rest and relax and be surrounded by nature. I found it in this beautiful modern farm stay bed and breakfast that came highly recommended. Not only is every part of the farm well cared for, doing yoga in the forested area is plain invigorating. Walking around the property I was surrounded by wonderful views, beautiful flower and food gardens,  and felt exactly how I wanted to feel, reconnected with nature in a very well cared for and modern bed and breakfast farm stay.    The proprietress was fabulous. From the moment I called, she was attentive and asked if I had special dietary needs, worked with me on my arrival time, and provided great hiking information for the local mountains. The space is impeccable, rooms are clean and modern. The gluten free breakfast was absolutely delicious and was served on the patio overlooking the gardens.  The space and the attentiveness allowed me to unplug from the daily grind, reconnect wth nature, and recharge. I returned home looking forward to the next time I will visit. I highly recommend Agape Farm and Retreat.

Wake up to a beautiful mountain panorama and the smell of bacon, waffles, fruit and yogurt. You can spend a relaxed afternoon reading in one of the quiet, sunny common areas or go exploring the many outdoor adventures available in the area (we've been to the Black Canyon, Needle Rock area and snowmobiling to name a few). Her breakfasts were amazing although she offered to give us some vouchers for breakfast in town if we wanted to explore other places, but we loved the whole setup with the blue-white china and the amazing birdwatching from the breakfast nook, and the food was even better. Eggs as you liked it, fruit, yoghurt and gluten free pancakes( would've never guessed if she didn't tell me that the were her recepie w quinoa other healthful flours), and another morning, even got a unique treat of home made elk sausage gifted from a local friend. There are two rooms downstairs,high ceilings and period furniture , one with a huge bathroom with big jetted tub and great views of the mountains. She had a lot of her original artwork displayed everywhere, we saw more of it later displayed in the local rum barMontoyas( great cocktails!) We spent 4 nights there on New Years to ski Silverton, and there was so much snow that fell our first night she even offered to drive us up to Molas Pass and show us a nice hike for our puppy, since our two wheel drive rental wouldn't have been safe to drive. It was a real nice gesture and we had a blast. There are two other resident puppies, both poodle mixes so hypoallergenic like my dog was, who were adorable, but still Judy was very respectful and only let them out after we requested that our dog meet them. Obviously not every guest likes animals and she was very polite about keeping them out of the way until we asked to meet them. Apparently she is truly pet friendly as she said her B&B hosted a variety of different animals from llamas to a hawk ( for a movie shoot). Lovely ,cozy, comfortable, can't wait to return!

The bad: I know this is probably a personal preference but the mattress was as hard as a rock and my hip bones dug into it so much it caused an arthritis flareup. I had to remember to take two advils before I could get any sleep. The pillows were both extremely soft and both felt like a sack of socks that had been rolled up into donuts. You could stack all four together and your head would sink down to the mattress. By the time we checked out on day 3, I was absolutely exhausted. We went to our next hotel, an IHG about 3 hrs away, Pillowtopped mattress and a soft and firm pillow waited for me. I took a two hour nap there! Holy cow Hampton. I hope my next experience with you is better or it will be more last.
