Red Bamboo was where I tried Botox for the first time. Dr. T and his staff were kind and knowledgeable. They were not pushy and really listened to my apprehensions. After I emphasized I only wanted a minimal amount in forehead, Dr. T was happy to oblige. He gently injected 10 units of Botox. I had no side effects and was thrilled with the result, natural! I used Red Bamboo for the time I lived in Redington Shores. The IPL and other facials were performed by well qualified esthetician's, results were noticeable. Face Maimed During Facial The week before Thanksgiving I decided to treat myself to a facial. I had several important events coming up and wanted to look my best. So I went to Red Bamboo Medi Spa and had Robin as my aesthetician. I had only one blemish, which she attempted to extract. I remember the extraction felt quite harsh compared to others I've had in the past. Then, Robin used a "high frequency wand" on the area. She kept wanting to turn it up, but I declined as it felt painful. After, when I returned home I noticed a huge welt on my face. I figured it would go away, however, my face was throbbing in pain the entire night and when I woke it was MUCH worse. I had an ugly welt that was scabbing over. I called Red Bamboo and sent them photos. They refunded my facial and told me I could come in to be treated by the owner. I felt relived, thinking surely the owner could help. But then when I got there, they put me in a room with Robin, NOT the owner. I didn't trust that woman to touch my face again and left feeling very lied to. I now write this well into December and I can say that I have a very permanent scar on my face now. No one deserves to become disfigured from a simple facial so I hope that by sharing my experience I can save people from being harmed by this clearly incompetent woman and facility. Soo,, wow. I'm unsure where to even begin. I made an appointment about two weeks ago to get a botox treatment, a service I have received here 2 maybe 3 times prior to this visit. Today when I arrived for my appointment I waited in their "relaxation room" for the technician to come get me. About 10 minutes pass and she escorts me to my room. As I'm starting to seat myself and get adjusted she brings up the fact that she saw I left a review after one of my previous visits and how it was only a 4 star review. I explained that I gave a 4 star because I have only received one service there and I cannot vouche for the entire facility. She kind of just looked at me and went to get the doctor. When he came in I asked him if I could record the procedure, I have a few friends who are interested in botox and wanted to kind of see. He seemed hesitant and I explained I would not record him and it would be just my face. He then looked at me and said "only if you change your 4 star review to a 5 star". I kinda just looked at him and was waiting for a laugh or a "just kidding" but it never came. He then proceeded to try and man-splain how Google reviews work and that "we are a small business and if I you think a 4 star review is good it's not. It brought our average down". I really was unsure of what to say so I kind of just stared at him in disbelief. Then I explained I gave an honest review of my experience and only gave 4 stars because I had only received one service out of the dozens that they offer and I could not speak for the entire facility. His response was "Well that's not our fault." At this point I was very uncomfortable and frankly pissed off that the Dr. was basically trying to bully me into changing my review. It was super clear he was not happy about it or seeing me. So I left. I told him how unprofessional and not ok that entire situation was and I walked out without receiving my service. Not to mention from my first appointment I really didn't like him. He has an attitude and has big vibes of he's better than you. But I figured old man in cosmetics I'm sure he has money so I'm sure a certain level of attitude is assumed. But I'm shocked that he thought that his actions and words were appropriate in office. I do not recommend. I know my 50$ service won't even matter in the long run. But as he pointed out their "small business" should have been thankful for repeat clients and better than average reviews. read more

I went to Red Bamboo. The staff claims they gave me a price sheet. They didn't. I got chair and 1,450 dollars later... I couldn't afford it bc they lied about the price. The owner whos money hungry and has bad breath called the police on me. I ended up paying but they never gave me a receipt. I had to go back in and they jacked up the prices. I hope he goes to jail. I also think he scams people. He said one dude of my lip was bigger ( not true) and went ahead a injection it. Now I've got a permanent bump. He's a liar, scam artist and flat out Rude. Time for an update..... well it's been 4 years. And I STILL won't go anywhere else. I have moved up north permanently.. So I'm a nurse and I do physical work that, in my opinion, requires frequent rejuvenating and pampering in order to maintain sanity and career endurance. Because of this need, I buy a lot of groupon deals for massages, facials, mani-pedis, etc. Unfortunately, many of these groupon deals have turned into awkward, uncomfortable....sometimes painful spa experiences. No joke. So when I bought this last one to Red Bamboo Medi-Spa, my expectations were low and my fear of another weird massage was very high....very. Getting an appointment for my Groupon took about a month out from when I called, which annoyed me, but I took as a good sign. Luckily they called me the day before to remind me of my impending pampering. When I finally found the place (it's in a shopping center and kinda hard to spot if you aren't familiar with the area), I was immediately impressed with fresh and calming aroma in the lobby air. A stark contrast to my last groupon spa experience which smelled like feet and mildew. Anyway, after checking in, they have you dress out into a soft cozy robe and slippers and send you to this little indoor zen garden like area to wait for your "services". They also give you a fancy wine glass to drink orange infused ice water from as you wait. I felt pretty important, not gonna lie. My Groupon package included a massage and a facial. Both were fantastic. The massage therapist was very thorough and focused in on my requested areas of "need". She was also socially appropriate which is a really big deal to me. More often than not, I find the masseuse either talks waaaay too much (usually telling me about their weird medical problems when they realize I'm a nurse) or is uncomfortably quiet and refuses to answer my questions with any more than a meek "yes" or "no". The facial was also very refreshing and I was literally glowing when I left. Overall, I have nothing but warm fuzzy feelings for this place and the people that work there. This place was amazing! I went in for a mother-daughter massage and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I was never one for massage, the idea of a stranger touching me for an extended period of time has always weirded me out, but I humored my mom and went with her. After an hour I was more relaxed then I have ever been, I didn't even think it was possible to feel so...de-stressed. When I returned to have the procedure done the assistant Shelly was so rude to me and the other clients. It amazes me during this time how someone could be so rude when your paying a lot of money. I learned about Red Bamboo through an amazing Groupon deal and have been pleased with the customer services and the services in general. The laser hair removal was virtually painless and professional and it was great being able to talk about the options (and what to expect) with professionals who knew what they were doing. When there was a mix-up with appointments (in which I drove two hours to find out my appointment was canceled) they offered a gift certificate in good faith that my mother was able to use on a massage that she very much enjoyed. The spa is clean, has friendly helpful staff and is really pretty - even though its in a strip mall, once you get inside you feel transported to a serene Asian Tea House somewhere. The facialist was amazing - my skin is glowing ! I was expertly exfoliated , buffed and moisturized. I opted for the Paraffin foot wrap, it felt amazing. The whole place smelled heavenly - not overly scented as to give you a headache, just a gentle gingery lavender type of aroma. After my facial, which included a lovely hot towel treatment - I went to meet my masseuse. She was a bit too chatty , and the rub down wasn't has deep as I would have liked - the cranial & neck part of massage was PERFECT and i felt amazing when I left there. My whole service was over 2 1/2 hours. They were very generous with the time - I didn't feel rushed at all and afterwards I was encouraged to lounge around in my fluffy robe & slippers and have tea or infused water if I liked. It was lovely - when i was paying my bill the front desk gave me a sweet goodie bag too. I would definitely recommend this spa. read more

Me and my husband went in for a consultation, I absolutely LOVE the staff and the doctor was amazing! i was so nervous to get lip fillers, as it was my first time. and the doctor was so hilarious and funny the whole time, making me feel really comfortable. Having had a couple of relaxing services (massage and facial) at Red Bamboo, I decided to try the IPL treatment. I went in for my consultation with Dr. Toscano. He was very informative, explained everything I wanted to know about the procedure and expectations. I was hesitant, as this would be the first "cosmetic procedure," but Dr. Toscano was very reassuring. I returned about a week later for the procedure. I felt the staff and Dr. Toscano himself treated me very kindly. The procedure was a little painful,and I'll admit I likely have a lower pain tolerance than others, but I had expected that, and it was not anything I could not tolerate. I was told, accurately, that my face would burn for a bit after the procedure, and I have to say that it felt like the worst sunburn I had ever had. Upon arriving home I immediately took one Advil as they had suggested and within one hour I had no burning whatsoever, and never had any more pain of any kind at all. The dark spots on my face began to come to the surface and slough off, and even more impressive, after one week I compared my own before and after photos, and was shocked that my pores were smaller and fine lines significantly decreased. I had a great results! I am very happy with the results of a procedure with no down time, in fact, I have just booked my second IPL treatment. Thank you Dr. Toscano and staff! read more

I absolutely believe that this M.D. only cares about his bottom line and doesn't give one care about his patients. I had purchased Botox about a month and a half ago, and I very much regret doing so. I had purchased enough Botox to do the glabella region. I had purchased the Botox in advance and made the appointment for a later date after the holidays. When I went to my appointment, I asked Dr. Toscano about additional Botox for an eyebrow lift. He said that it would be a good idea for me, and he recommended the Botox for an eyebrow lift more than for the crows feet area. So I agreed to have him do some additional injections of Botox for the eyebrow lift. Unfortunately, the eyebrow lift never took. I went back to Dr. Toscano about 7 days after the procedure to have him look at the area. My eyelids were actually more droopy than before he performed the eyebrow lift injections, especially the right eye. He looked at my eyes very briefly, and simply said that it was too soon for the Botox to take affect and that I should give it another week. Well, I actually gave it another 2 weeks before returning to his office. My eyelids were exactly the same, still droopy and no visible lift at all. Dr. Toscano said, "Well, I will put a couple more injections above the eyebrows to try to induce the lift at no charge." When he said that, I thought to myself "well of course you shouldn't charge me since I have paid a fairly substantial amount of money for the eyebrow lift with not only no effects but opposite effects (the droopiness of both eyelids)." So, he injected 4 more units total above the eyebrow area. He said that if the additional 4 units did not help, then I am simply not a good candidate for the eyebrow lift. Unfortunately, the eyebrow lift still did not take place and the droopiness remains at the present time. I paid for a lift and received the opposite, so I basically spent good money for an "eyelid droop." Dr. Toscano did not bother to offer a discount on another service or to try to do anything further for me to offset the faulty eyebrow lift. It would have been nice if he would have disclosed at the beginning that some people are just not good candidates for the eyebrow lift procedure and that it may cause an opposite reaction. He just wanted the money, I am convinced of that. He offered no other type of compensation for my expense, and I have simply set my money on fire. Thank you Dr. Toscano!! read more

I was so excited to get my husband a gift certificate for a massage from a real spa for Valentine's Day. He hurt his back and went in for some much needed relief. Went here with my wife for laser hair removal. EXTREMELY dissatisfied with their service. First off it takes MONTHS to book an appointment. 45 days before an opening? Not only is it absurd, it's a flat out lie. They must think very little of the intelligence of their customers if they expect I would believe in 45 days they have no openings, and furthermore, have no cancellations( as they always offer to contact us if they have a cancellation.) Bought six sessions for my wife and I. In the end, We were only able to use three before we moved a year later. I would be able to squeeze in one more session for me and my wife but they want to charge us a 50 dollar fee for missing an appointment? Are you serious? I'm pretty sure they didn't cut me a check for 50 bucks when they canceled on my first appointment due to their laser breaking and then called back last minute to say "can you still make it? Because if not we'd be happy to schedule another appointment a month from now. Also, for my second appointment I showed up 30min late due to their error in informing me of the time of my appointment(10:30) instead of my wife's, which was first (10:00). They were not able to see my wife that day... huge disappointment. Ok, things happen... Upon coming to this place twice more I realized we always have to wait about 30 minutes to be seen? I guess the one day we were late was an exception. Too many things seem suspicious with this place to be coincidence.
