Today's espresso was roasted by Temple, it had nice crema, was full in body and no sour notes of light roasted coffee. the only sadness I experience: paying by cash for $16.01 charge, I received $3.99 in change because there was no cash in the drawer by 10a, and the pastries (which I assume are fresh daily) are wrapped in plastic upon deliver, which kink of ruins the texture of the product, even though they are kept in a closed display cabinet. overall I still like coming here - one of the few places in downtown that has character and is a pleasure experience. read more

Cute cafe in downtown Los Altos near so many businesses! Parking was aplenty over the holidays when I went, and Red Berry was bustling. Clientele included families, workers, and people young and old. Interior is very warm and cozy. I loved their holiday decorations too! It was hard to get a seat, it was so busy. I enjoyed an Iced Rose Latte and my friend enjoyed some tea. You also have to try the food--their breakfast options are absolutely amazing. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, too. Such a charming place but unfortunately our drinks and food were just okay. They were definitely not worth $60+. Our dulce de leche lattes tasted like regular iced lattes. There was no dulce de leche flavor whatsoever. Our egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches were good but we had asked them to add bacon which they did but the bacon itself tasted off. It has extensive indoor seating including an upstairs loft. You'll have to self carry up your drinks/food. The service is polite and helpful. I had a quinoa salad it was good. When you walk inside, you will find their menu on a chalkboard wall on the right side. I opted for an iced coffee since it was a hot day and I wanted something cool and refreshing. Met up for a friend here for coffee recently early a few weekends ago. Besides coffee and standard baked good items, they offer an extensive menu consisting of sandwiches, salads, acai bowls, panini's, and Belgium waffles. I tried their vanilla latte this last time and it was carefully crafted and brewed. The drink only took about 5 minutes to make from order to pickup. They have plenty of seating outdoor, a few tables downstairs, and a decently sized upstairs area with tables and some couch seating. Although the upstairs is a bit quieter and more comfortable than downstairs, with the heater on, it can get quite stuffy upstairs. This coffee bar is well-kept and clean. Friendly service. There's lots of free downtown street parking along Main St. or any of the adjacent streets. This is great place to meet up with friends for coffee! read more

The coffee was cold. When I asked for a new cup, I was asked how long ago I ordered it and if I wanted hot water to be added to the coffee. I also had ordered a croissant, which was completely forgotten about. This in of itself wouldn't be a big deal, but every single time I have gone to this cafe, they have made a mistake with my order and the food and coffee has been subpar. I got a soy milk matcha iced and boy it hit the spot, super cold and creamy with decadent green tea froth. Servie is quick and freidnlu, efficient. They have all kinds of sandwiches, quiche, pastries they make fresh plus a case showcasing their daily specials. Artwork on the walls, I think for purchase and patio seating as well as tables inside. A colorful spirited little place that if I lived near here, I'd go all the time. I had a subpar experience when coming here for breakfast with my family. We ordered some drinks, breakfast, and a pastry, after which the cashier gave me a number to put at our outdoor table, so I figured that the entire order would be brought out. The breakfast items were brought to the table, but we kept waiting for our drinks and pastry. When my wife finally went in to inquire, the person behind the counter curtly told her that they don't bring drinks to the table. Apparently, this also includes pastries (even though other food had been brought out), because the cinnamon roll I had ordered had been sitting on the counter for an unclear amount of time -- I had to ask them to heat it up again. When I told them we had been waiting outside for a while, and hadn't been informed about what we had to pick up at the counter and what would be brought out, the guy gave me a couple of reluctant "sorrys", but it didn't feel particularly genuine. The egg and cheese breakfast sandwich I got was big, but pretty bland -- essentially a big cheese omelette on a brioche bun with some avocado. Wife and daughter got acai bowls, which they thought were pretty good. My iced mocha was decent. Everything was pretty pricey -- total was $70. There's a lot of indoor and outdoor seating -- outdoor is very pleasant (but this was also part of the reason we had the service issue, since if were were indoors, I probably would've noticed our drinks and pastry on the counter earlier). We won't be coming here again. It wasn't a good value, and service was poor. I would prefer other breakfast spots in downtown Los Altos. read more
