Avocado smash with bacon and egg

Great outdoor seating, service was nice, mild wait but was expected. Food was delicious and will definitely go back! (If I ordered the same thing I'd definitely get 2 eggs instead of 1, it was a big piece of toast)

Here is always a great option to have a meeting, gathering or just stop by for a bite and sip. Outdoor patio is specially lovely to enjoy the breeze and sunshine.

Pricey but cute! We came to do inkind credits which unfortunately are defunct now. The berry smoothie was refreshing and the patio area is really cute, otherwise the drinks were just okay. There were huge rats on the patio tho which were scary but it was like a zoo. Service was nice, the staff tried to help me troubleshoot the inKind credits but no luck.

Good location in Los Altos downtown, good view, good selection of brunch. Food presentation is also decent. It's a nice place to hang out for morning birds however I expected a restaurant in such prime location could surprise me more than others. I feel the staff could be more proactive than hanging out. Also I felt the ordering process could be more straightforward, when we got there we were confused by the QR code on what we've ordered. Anyways, I'm sure it's just this one time thing, and I look forward to visit again to change my score here.

Their restrooms are more dirty than in a gas station. Can't imagine how their kitchen looks where guests can't access.... I'll try to avoid this place next time.

    Breakfast Bowl no feta
    Lily Z.

Stopped by for a quick bite as I had an appointment in the area. Food: I ordered the breakfast bowl sans feta and with spiced chicken and dressing on the side as I like to have less dressing with my salads. I have to say my biggest pet peeve is dry chicken so when I first saw the bowl I was a little underwhelmed...but after taking the first bite I was very surprised! The chicken was perfectly cooked and tender, lightly spiced. Lemon vinaigrette was not overpoweringly citrusy too even though I added most of the dressing!! Only thing is, I'm what one might call a certified big back and was pretty hungry and hoping for a hearty serving, but unfortunately wasn't completely satisfied after my meal. I wish their portion size was a bit bigger. Would definitely order again though! I also ordered a matcha latte with simple syrup. They definitely don't skimp on the matcha, the latte was STRONG with matcha flavor. Decent quality too as far as I can tell. Ambiance: stunning property with lots of flowers outside, cute blue ocean themed interior decor, outdoor seating available, though I opted to sit inside Service: you can scan and order yourself which was what I did and the service was friendly, fast and professional. Would come back again!

    BL burrito
    Emily S.

Came in on a reservation on Sunday afternoon and it wasn't too busy but it's definitely understaffed. The staff is very friendly but just too busy to be checking up on you. My friend and I both got the BL burrito but mine looked drastically different (granted they did forget her order so they made it look nice to make up for it). The pictures I took is exactly how it arrived. It was quite plain and nothing special especially considering the price point- would not order again. We also got the lemon ricotta pancakes which were pretty good but a bit too crispy. Overall, cute place but way too understaffed and food is just alright.

The Smash--Avocado toast with provolone cheese

The food here is very good. Our party was for 6 people and it was our second visit. I loved my avocado toast. It was customized with my favorite cheese. The bread was so fresh and healthy with a brown crust. I also ordered a Hibiscus Ice tea that was refreshing. Unfortunately the service was spotty and most of the time one of us had to get up and find our server. Also there were problems getting our reservation ( no one answers the phone) and putting up with a dirty unisex bathroom. So not sure if we will return.

This was my first time ever here and wow was it ever packed on a Wednesday around 10 AM!! Apparently nobody works! Lol Everything was incredibly clean and open seating area. I really like the nautical clean look!! Since everything was packed at all the tables, my friend and I decided to get some drinks to go. Sadly, I'm lactose intolerant, so I tried their mango Matcha! I was surprised it already came with an oat milk and not a cow milk, right off the bat!! The Matcha was really good with a kick of mango and I really enjoyed my drink!! I can't wait to come back and try the food!!

Cute coffee shop cafe. Free parking in small private lot. Service was quick and efficient. Menu had a wide assortment of drinks and lots of breakfast/brunch items. I had the BL big brekkie and split the ricotta pancakes. It was a lot of food. Delicious and beautiful presentation. .

    Turkey & Bacon Club Toastie
    Nancy L.

Actually 3.5 stars but rounded up. Food: - chicken avocado sandwich 4/5 - bacon, turkey club 5/5 - warm chicken bowl 3/5 chicken was not moist, everything else was good - brekkie meal 3/5 Service: They seemed to be short staff and chaotic. Water came pretty late. We need to keep flagging them down and forgetting our requests. Waiter says hot brew has free refills but it's not true. When you order hot brew, for the same price you can order 12 or 16 oz, just order 16 oz. No refills needed. 16 oz is plenty of coffee. Ambiance: We enjoyed sitting in the patio. It's low key environment and relaxing.

I love this place! Healthy assortment of choices and delicious! Breakfast and lunch and beverages (espresso options, matcha, health smoothies and fresh juices)

Stopped by Bluestone Lane for brunch, and the vibes were just as vibrant as the food. The avocado toast with smoked salmon was generously topped and paired beautifully with the herby green sauce--definitely one of the better avo toasts I've had lately. The pancakes were a fun contrast: fluffy, topped with fresh fruit and edible flowers, and served in a mini skillet that made it feel extra indulgent. Drinks were equally photo-worthy and refreshing, orange juice, berry smoothie, and a pot of earl grey tea that matched the coastal color palette of the tea cup (always a plus). Everything felt curated and relaxing, from the presentation to the friendly service. Great for: laid-back mornings, catching up with friends, or treating yourself to a pretty plate that actually delivers on taste.

So a few days after returning from an overseas trip, I made a lunch reservation with a friend. Apparently, reservations are required if you want a proper meal experience. At $35 per person for lunch, including tip but excluding drinks and additions, it still seemed like good value. Finding parking during lunch time in downtown Los Altos was surprisingly difficult. There were no spots available on the Main Street, so I had to park in the lot behind the buildings. As I walked inside, I admired the high ceilings, curved alcoves and glass-enclosed dining room by the entrance. The entire space seemed to be illuminated by a central skylight. Aaron is a co-owner of Tal Palo along with his partner, Chef Adriana. He greeted and complimented me on my Mikkeller Taipei t-shirt. Aaron told us he was once the co-owner of an Oakland bar specializing in Belgian ale called The Trappist and subsequently knew Mikkel's brother, Jeppe, who founded Evil Twin Brewery quite well. It was cool to meet a fellow artist and Renaissance man. Fittingly, the beautiful space was largely designed by Aaron. We had our choice of seating. It didn't seem as if there were any two tables and chairs that were alike. Each part of the dining room was unique. There's a really nice patio in the back with a cool huge mural on the wall that is undoubtedly popular during warmer months. We chose a nice broad two top table near the entrance, lit brightly by the skylight above it. Chef Adriana introduced herself and brought by what was essentially an elote muffin, and offered it as an optional appetizer. We took her up on it. It was delicious and buttery with the texture of corn kernels, not simply pureed into a batter. I also ordered a Cafe de Olla, which was pleasantly sweet and blended with cinnamon and spices. She then brought a plate with skillfully prepared green salad. It was then clear that each dish was meant to be shared family-style. The portion-size of each dish is about the size of an individual portion, but there were three dishes included in the lunch course. I could see how this might be an issue for those who eat larger portions, leaving them unsatisfied. Me and my friend don't generally eat a ton, so this was perfectly fine for us. Next up was the highlight of the meal, Chilaquiles Verde. The egg was perfectly fried atop tortilla chips that still had a bit of crispness to them. The tomatillo salsa was a perfect balance of flavor, tanginess, spice and temperature. It was a superb dish that outpaces any chilaquiles that I've been able to find locally, and I've certainly been trying out many for the past six months in search of the best one. I think Chef Adriana's version at Tal Palo may be the winner. There was one more interesting dish remaining: fried quesadillas served with a creamy red beet mole sauce. The quesadillas were light and fluffy, made from masa rather than flour. The beet mole sauce had pine nuts and sesame seeds and several other ingredients blended into it. Very unique and creative rendition unlike any mole I had ever tried. The overall experience at Tal Palo was very unique. There is no set menu, and you are served whatever Chef Adriana has prepared that day. So one needs to approach this restaurant with an open mind and leave preconceptions at the door. As I mentioned earlier, the shared portions might not be enough for people with a higher caloric intake. If these are showstoppers, this is probably not the right place for you. I personally really enjoyed the concept and experience. I look forward to trying their dinner course and going to their workshops for things like making tamales.

I've had the pleasure of dining at Tal Palo a handful of times, and each visit has been excellent…read more The food is incredible, the space warm and inviting, the service consistently on point. The communal setup encourages conversation among diners, creating a welcoming atmosphere that turns strangers into dinner companions. It's a family-owned and operated restaurant that makes you feel like part of the family. Their ever changing menu is always delicious and regular pop-up dinners showcase both emerging and established chefs while bringing cuisines to the neighborhood that aren't otherwise available. I can't recommend Tal Palo enough.
