I've been going here for a long time, and the seafood is very fresh with a fair price. I never had any issues with service, as matter of fact, I've always found the servers there very helpful and kind, and the ambience is more on the loud side(?). The music can sometimes be a little loud, but I think this restaurant is great for a large crowd. I would give this place five stars, but I find that inconsistency is really apparent, and I order the same thing every time. I always get my seafood boil extra hot, and on some days, the "extra hot" feels lukewarm, and on other days, "extra hot" will burn a hole down my throat (which I like!). Ate here again today. This time I tried the fried flounder which was very, very good. Hubby had the fried shrimp again. This time we started with their onion rings which were extremely light and well cooked. We liked that when you bite into one, the entire onion doesn't pull out. Good dipping sauce for them as well. This place has been here for a few years and I had never gone. A friend of mine suggested we go here because she comes here all the time.I was glad she suggested it because I was very pleased with the meal. I ordered some fish and cajun fries. They came in a little basket and the fish and fries were delicious. I also ordered a "green tea" . It was delicious as well. I will be trying other specialty cocktails on my next visit. We went a little after lunch, maybe around 3 or so. The dining room was empty.The bathroom was clean. The waitress was nice, and again the food was on point. I ate all my food but my friend ended up having enough to bring home. Always looking for a good meal which won't break the bank, I was fortunate to find the Red Crab House. Located in Snellville, Ga. My companion went just to see what the deal was. The menu was a complete run down of all things seafood prepared in numerous delicious manners. Prices were noticeably less than other cajun based seafood in a bag restaurants. The atmosphere was calm. Not many patrons at the 1 o'clock hour. We were alarmed. However, when our orders started to appear, our concerns were quickly forgotten. Our wonderful wait person asked if everything was alright and when I said the breading was a little heavy for me, she said I can ask for the breading to be lite next time. The fish was fresh, flakey, and moist. Our onion rings which we ordered as an appetiser, were out of this world, fed us both for about $5.00. Came with a slight peppery sauce for dipping. Yummy. The oysters were done to perfection as were the hush puppies. I had the fried catfish, fried oysters combo, reg fries, a soda and I paid for the onion rings.Total for all that food was $22.26 tax included.Can;t wait for a return visit. read more

Average seafood boil spot. We got this boil deal that was a variety of seafood along with a couple of appetizers to share for all of us. This was months ago so I think(?) we ordered onion rings, calamari, and cheese sticks. The batter was ok nothing special and didn't care for the sauce that came with them. The seafood boil sauce and seasoning were really good, only thing was I didn't care for the crab legs. It's been a minute since I have been here. Out of all the seafood boils I've had a various restaurants, theirs is probably the best. I love that they crack the legs for you so less work you have to do. PI got my usual king crab legs with garlic butter medium heat. It comes with one corn and one potato. I thought I remember it coming with two corns and two potato's. I also got some rice. Finally got to patronize this establishment, tonight! We went by there and were immediately, warmly greeted at the door. After being seated, our server came over promptly and was very efficient in taking and delivering our orders. He even suggested that we order in a way that would maximize the food we got for the minimal price. Always a tip grabber! It was a slower night, so the place was quiet and peaceful. I ordered the pound of shrimp mild. My guest ordered the Seafarer. After taking a few bites, we each looked at each other in amazement. These restaurants types are popular now and we have visited some others in the area. We both, immediately, agreed that this was the best seasoned seafood we had eaten in the area. Coming from to Florida Coastal residents, that was a huge for us. We had so much food that we wound up getting a to go box. In the mean time, the wait staff was extremely efficient and attentive to our table. This was a bit of a drive for us in relation to some of the other spots we frequent. Let me start by saying this is a neighborhood spot for me. I've been here dozens of times and brought loads of people here when they visit from out of town. Red Crab house never disappoints. I've sat down for meals as well as visited the bar with friends after work. The drinks are consistently solid. The Hennessy Sunset is a favorite. In terms of food they offer either boil or fried. I've had both and again they have always been consistent in quality and portions. I recommend the Red Crab special as a seasoning option for boiled seafood. It's a little spicy and not super salty- lots of flavor. The service is also always good. Everyone is friendly and on top of it. Never had to wait too long for a table or food. The vibe changes based on when you go, afternoons or early evenings has a more family feel, later nights has a date night or girls nite out vibe. There's usually music playing also. I been here several times always got a boiled bag .I've never tried their fried fish baskets until the weekend. I ordered the flounder basket and the food was cooked to perfection. I was really impressed with the hush puppies. They only give you 2 per basket. I wish they were listed as a side item on the menu. It would be great to be able to place a side order of 6 or more. The star of the night was the cold slaw, fresh chopped cabbage went down smoothly with the meal. I'm coming back for the fried fish basket. One of my favorite spots to eat and drink in Snellville. The wings are good and a decent size. Actually pretty big compared to what I'm used to seeing.The drinks are strong and inexpensive. The vibe in this place is definitely chill. Most people come in for the seafood bags and the crab leg specials. I come in for the hood cocktails and friendly atmosphere. This place has a good set of bartenders with pretty consistent service. Great after work happy hour spot . Only downfall is that they close at 11pm. I've been coming to this place for a few years, although it's been a while since my last visit. I had the strongest hankering for Snow Crab Legs and since I'm not in Florida, I decided to take the drive to Red Crab House here in town, I remembered how great the crabs are here as well as the attentive service. Today wasn't any different my server ROBERT was great. I seldom dine alone although I didn't feel alone today ROBERT was very attentive. I ordered the Seafarer Favorite which includes one snow crab cluster, 1/2 lb of shrimp and sausage, two eggs and two corn on the cob and two potatoes in mild red crab special sauce. i've been coming here since pre-covid, and the red crab house is still one of my favorite spots for a good seafood boil. first of all, it's affordable if you're comparing it to places in atlanta, and the seafood still tastes fresh. they have an amazing staff with very nice people (that doesn't justify going there with a stinky attitude though! if they give you an attitude, you probably deserved it). my only complaint is that they're a bit inconsistent with the spice levels because one day they'll spice it up until my booty hole is on fire, and then the next time i come, they'd only spice it up only a little bit (i always order extra hot). read more

My wife gets the fried shrimp which has also been very good each time we have gotten it. Approximately 2 hrs after eating, I asked, "babe, how does your stomach feel?" He replied, not good. I was up ALL NIGHT AND ALL MORNING... IN, ON AROUND AND OVER the toilet. This food made us violently ill. I googled their health score, it says a 92A. I guess we just happened to get it on the nasty Hepatitis A, E coli, salmonella night... In saying all of that, the food actually tasted fresh and good. While we were eating it, we talked about how we'd go back. NOT NOW, NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!! No fish plate is worth my health! This was a horrible experience. The fries were extremely overcooked as though it was cooked in dirty/old oil. The server brought out another basket which was equally disappointing. Because I am not from this area I just decided to order it anyway and get it delivered to me. Worst case scenario I was just going to give it a bad review and leave it as such. But contrary to belief something else amazing happened. My food was delivered in about an hour more or less, and I can't lie, it was still warm and still extremely delicious. I was actually shocked because the travel was from this restaurant to where I was staying in lithonia, So my biggest fear was that the food will be cold and probably poor quality because of the other reviews. However, I was definitely pleased with the seasoning put in the food and how well-maintained it was by the driver who drove down here to drop it off. I enjoy this place every time I go! They give you a TON of food and I always leave with leftovers. I typically order the mate which has crawfish crabs.. well the menu describes it lol. Everything in the bag is always fresh. The seasoning of choice is now the Cajun sauce because the house seasoning has become too salty for me. Now this meal is definitely a cheat meal because the amount of butter used could fill a bath tub but it's soooo worth it. I sometimes order the oysters but they don't come out as cold as I like so I opted to pass on those while there. Also their Cajun wings are a really good appetizer option for sharing. It's a dry rub but you won't even miss any sauce or need any ranch or blue cheese for that matter. I thoroughly enjoy myself when I go and I go quite often.
