Driving home after visiting nearby Fernbank Science Museum and this has been in my list to check out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Loved the authentic feel of the space. Very vibrant and cohesive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were offered chips, salsa AND refried black beans (a first for me ) appetizer to start things off after sitting quickly. My classic tacos were tasty but hubby thought the barrias dip was too bland to want to order again. The house marg was made fresh from the bar and our waitress Litzy keep thing flowing with frequent check ins and upwelling suggestions. Definitely will revisit to experience their daily specials and happy hour from 3-7pm! Thanks El Paso!

This place was poppin'! [[HIGHLIGHT]]First, the ambience was fun and VERY loud. You've got to be loud to have a conversation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There was music and a gal walking around singing and sharing her mic so we can join in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor was beautiful!!! I loved how colorful everything was.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Music choices were very diverse, from Selena, cumbias, Banda, La Macarena.. and Cupid shuffle.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were all very satisfied with our meals. We had chile rellenos, tacos, mojarra frita, carne asada and arrachera. For those wondering about the difference between the asada and arrachera, they are both tender and tasted the same, the only difference was that the asada was a thicker and slightly larger piece. I substituted my refried beans with charro beans. YUMMM. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful! I'll come back if I'm ever in the area again.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]El Paso Tacos and Tequila is a well lit, tastefully decorated gem among a slew of Mexican fair in town.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We arrived for dinner around d 7:30 on a Thursday night and were seated quickly. The wait staff was courteous and friendly. Our food came super quick. My friend had the carne asada and I had a beef enchilada and a tamale with rice and beans. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was a gentleman playing the sax along with some lively Spanish and R&B music that kept the night going.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The drinks were delicious and all in all we had a good night! We'll be back!

Not sure how this place is only 3.5 stars. My friends and I drink and eat regularly all over Georgia. The margaritas were delicious, well balanced and very tasty. The food was on point! Order the jalapeño salsa on the side, I could eat that with anything. Great spot, great pricing, hard to beat when looking for good Mexican food.

Lunch chicken chimichanga with rice & beans

We really enjoyed our lunch here today. We thought the food was good. I had the chicken chimichanga and my husband had the egg & chorizo burritos. We would both order them again. We liked the cheese dip they have. I do agree that the music was unnecessarily loud, especially at lunch. Our server was fairly attentive the whole time. One odd thing to note which I think they should rethink: the trash cans in the women's bathroom stalls are way too big. They actually touch the side of the toilet because the stalls are not very large. I had to make an effort not to touch the trash can when I used the toilet. All in all we had a good experience and we will definitely return. Lunch prices are valid every day of the week.

EL Paso is in a great location and parking is plentiful. Approaching the entrance it is very festive and well lit...I really appreciate the brightness. Entering we were greeted and offered to be seated at a table, booth, or outside we decided on a booth. We were brought menus and our waitress was awesome. They did get my order wrong I ordered the shrimp nachos they brought me nachos fully loaded with shrimp, chicken, and steak I don't really eat red meat which is why I didn't order that but they didn't charge me for their mishap so I was ok with it. I ordered a drink it was a blue margarita I didn't care for it at all it tasted watered down. We also ordered the sampler plate and it is definitely sample portions definitely not shareable. I did go back a second time and again was disappointed we sat down at 2:35pm our waitress gave us the lunch menu along with the regular menu she took our drink order and she gave us time to review the menu she finally came back and took our order 2:45...just to come back and say they were no longer taking lunch orders I'm like what?? What time is it ? It was 3:05 and on the menu it says lunch ends at 3pm...ummm ma'am what were you doing our order should've made it to that kitchen by 3 smh I was like find bring me back the menu and I ordered the shrimp nachos again. They got my order right this time but my drink was still watered down and I didn't like it at all...I ordered a Bahama Mama by the way. The ambiance is nice but I probably won't be back. Until next time SYOY!! Check out what I ordered!!

The quality of the food has taken a downturn, poor ingredients and lack of freshness throughout, from chips to entree and sides.

Ordered a chicken fajita nachos, that lacked flavor, spice and was served Luke warm. The server was made aware of the problem with the order. The resolution was to bring out more peppers since that was missing from the meal. An offer to remake the meal was never extended. Even the chips for the chips and salsa were dark and greasy. When the server was notified again of the dissatisfaction, she stated the manager would come over. Instead the manager sent the server back and instructed her to tell my gf that, "Next time, you should ask for remake." No courtesy extended to discount or remove the cost of the meal. It was further insulting because this has been a place she has frequented over the years and has ordered this dish numerous times. All she wanted, after an exhausting day, was a decent meal in familiar company. And the manager never personally acknowledged her. Will NEVER return!!!

Not at TLH, but PERIOD. It was that good. (I'll have to think about it a bit, but it's definitely in the top 5.) My single complaint: it wasn't hot. It was warm, but not hot. Didn't make it any less wonderful, but I would have liked it a little warmer. The meat was perfectly cooked and lean. The green sauce was extremely tasty. The rice was nice and buttery. The green beans with onions might actually have been the best thing on the plate, or maybe I was just in the mood for sautéed green beans. For my appetizer, I picked esquite, which is basically Mexican street corn (elote) cut off the cob. It came "separated," meaning that they didn't mix it together; I got a HEAP of corn, some mayo, some crumbled cheese, and chili powder, and mixed it to my own favorite ratio. I didn't get a picture because I was too busy eating it. Server was very attentive and I didn't have to wait at all for anything.

This is actually one of the few places that I actually felt improved in recent years which is the opposite of what you usually tend to see over time. One big plus is that their hours are longer and they are open for more days than they used to be (they used to be closed 2-3 days of the week for reference). If there is a downside compared to older years, I'd say the service has declined slightly and staff can be a little unattentive at times, but still wouldn't say that it's bad. Good amount of seating both indoors and outdoors. They will always bring you a basket of chips and salsa to start with. And unlike most other places, they are actually GOOD quality and they give you a sizeable portion to start so you're not constantly asking for chip refills. And they have no issues giving those to you as well. Menu is on the smaller side, but you can't go wrong with one of their tacos. Tried a few and have yet to have a bad experience. A few years back I occasionally had some issues with the tacos being burnt but haven't this happen again in recent visits. One thing I also really like is the rice and beans they give you with the tacos. While that may be a standard for any mexican joint, the rice has a bit of cheese mixed into it and is done very well. Perfect to add into any taco or enjoy on its own. The drinks are pretty on-point as well. Although the tacos may not look that big on initial glance they will definitely fill you up especially if you opt for their sour cream and guac, which were both done very well. Overall, this is probably my favorite spot for Mexican in the area, and I'll keep coming back every time I visit GA.
