Dropped in here Christmas Eve to get a quick bite before heading to my sister's place. This place has been here for awhile (late 90s) and originally was a Mexican Place, then a Joe's Crab Shack and now a Mexican place again. I was just happy they were open. I walked in ahead of 2 guys and sat at the bar. The 2 guys behind me got served first. I waited for a bit before I even got service and I think the hostess ended up getting my food and drink order. I was super thankful she stepped in to help. I ordered wings and a coronarita. The coronarita tasted off, and I'm positive it was whatever mix they used. Almost a slight chemical taste. My wings were underdone, although presentation was nice on them. Flavor on them was decent, though. I typically don't give bad reviews and being short staffed on Christmas Eve is understandable... however, y'all need to look into whatever you're putting in that Rita mix and address cook times for wings. They place was beautiful, good vibes and ambiance. The food was good. Me and my friend really didn't like the soft served margaritas they tasted terrible and we keep trying them at different restaurants and the. server let us know that's how theirs taste. It was terrible, I don't not recommend the soft serve but the regular margaritas are so good and strong and the food is delicious. They also have really good deals on different days. Me and my friends are going to run it back and see how are next experience will be without the soft serve margaritas and hopefully catch them on the day they are not training anyone because it did take our server a minute to come back and check up on us or give us items needed but still the experience was great it was just that one drink ! read more

Casual cool comfortable pad sitting near Stone Mountain. Extended full menu w wide variety. Been a few times- Gotta love their numerous seafood specialties. From the Seafood/Shrimp Soup to start. To the Camarones a La Brochetas or Mojo De Ajo, you got a shrimp variety ranging from spicy, simmered, tangy, to La Diabla. A whole fried fish, next time.. Only minor downside was the ever so slightly rubbery chili-relleno. (May have been overcooked.. idk) Let's not forget their many Nachos, Tacos, and Enchiladas. Driving home after visiting nearby Fernbank Science Museum and this has been in my list to check out. Loved the authentic feel of the space. Very vibrant and cohesive. We were offered chips, salsa AND refried black beans (a first for me ) appetizer to start things off after sitting quickly. My classic tacos were tasty but hubby thought the barrias dip was too bland to want to order again. The house marg was made fresh from the bar and our waitress Litzy keep thing flowing with frequent check ins and upwelling suggestions. This place was poppin'! First, the ambience was fun and VERY loud. You've got to be loud to have a conversation. There was music and a gal walking around singing and sharing her mic so we can join in. The decor was beautiful!!! I loved how colorful everything was. Music choices were very diverse, from Selena, cumbias, Banda, La Macarena.. and Cupid shuffle. We were all very satisfied with our meals. We had chile rellenos, tacos, mojarra frita, carne asada and arrachera. For those wondering about the difference between the asada and arrachera, they are both tender and tasted the same, the only difference was that the asada was a thicker and slightly larger piece. This review is more for Vegetarians & Plant Based diets. Total rip off. I don't say that outta anger but disappointment. First time I EVER asked for the menu to order more food at a Mexican restaurant! $13 for 2 Chalupas. NO SIDES INCLUDED. And get this right below in the ala carte section, SAME chalupa for $5 a single.... Do the math. My waitress didn't tell me the savings for the exact same food. $3 for a small tiny plate of rice. Guacamole Taco for $3.50. Restaurant is clean and decor is nice. I went for a late lunch. Waitress was friendly but distracted a lot in a near empty restaurant. She forgot items we asked for until we reminded her. So would I return? Nope. I liked what I got but didn't like it for the price per portions. The service probably would have been decent had I received it. I came in 1/1/26 around 3:15pm. I sat at the bar. The restaurant was empty, other than just two small families. I sat at the bar as two young female workers walked by me many times and no one said a word. I was not offered water nor was I offered a menu. After about 10 minutes, I left. The wait staff was courteous and friendly. Our food came super quick. My friend had the carne asada and I had a beef enchilada and a tamale with rice and beans. There was a gentleman playing the sax along with some lively Spanish and R&B music that kept the night going. The drinks were delicious and all in all we had a good night! We'll be back! read more

As a regular at El Paso Tacos and Tequila, I keep coming back for two things: the fantastic drinks and the consistently great customer service. The bartenders are friendly and quick, and the margarita menu is creative and always well-made. It's a great spot for a drink with friends. However, I have completely stopped ordering food, and it's a real shame. The portion sizes for the price are simply not excusable. We're talking three small bites for a premium taco plate that costs over $15. It feels less like a meal and more like an expensive appetizer. It's frustrating because the potential for a 5-star experience is clearly there. The atmosphere and service team have built a wonderful local spot. But the value proposition on the food is so out of whack that I, and others I know, now only show up for the excellent drinks and service. I really hope management reconsiders their portioning, because until then, it's hard to justify ordering anything but a beverage. read more

Not sure how this place is only 3.5 stars. My friends and I drink and eat regularly all over Georgia. The margaritas were delicious, well balanced and very tasty. The food was on point! I have visited this restaurant about 4 or 5 times now and can say they are consistently solid for quality food and service! What I love is that they have outside dining (when the weather is good) which is perfect for a date night dinner or lunch. Drinks are well priced and a good mix (meaning not too strong & not watered down either). We usually order a pitcher for 2-4 people and are good. Wish I could post a pic of their seafood burrito but it's so good it always gets eaten way before I remember to snap a pic (lol). Overall a great addition to the area for a date night, friends night or family meal. read more

We really enjoyed our lunch here today. We thought the food was good. I had the chicken chimichanga and my husband had the egg & chorizo burritos. We would both order them again. We liked the cheese dip they have. I do agree that the music was unnecessarily loud, especially at lunch. Our server was fairly attentive the whole time. One odd thing to note which I think they should rethink: the trash cans in the women's bathroom stalls are way too big. They actually touch the side of the toilet because the stalls are not very large. I had to make an effort not to touch the trash can when I used the toilet. Before I review, I just read through the reviews for this place and the reviews for the El Paso on Spartanburg highway are getting mixed in here. THIS restaurant opened about a week ago yet there are reviews from over a year ago. Service today was good. Staff was courteous. One of the owners stopped by our table and was eager to hear our comments. The food was just ok. We were seated in the back even though there was plenty of seating in the front. Server was quick to take our drink order, the chips with bean dip and salsa came quickly as did our food. The decor is bright and fun. We will give it another try. read more

EL Paso is in a great location and parking is plentiful. Approaching the entrance it is very festive and well lit...I really appreciate the brightness. Entering we were greeted and offered to be seated at a table, booth, or outside we decided on a booth. We were brought menus and our waitress was awesome. They did get my order wrong I ordered the shrimp nachos they brought me nachos fully loaded with shrimp, chicken, and steak I don't really eat red meat which is why I didn't order that but they didn't charge me for their mishap so I was ok with it. I ordered a drink it was a blue margarita I didn't care for it at all it tasted watered down. We also ordered the sampler plate and it is definitely sample portions definitely not shareable. I did go back a second time and again was disappointed we sat down at 2:35pm our waitress gave us the lunch menu along with the regular menu she took our drink order and she gave us time to review the menu she finally came back and took our order 2:45...just to come back and say they were no longer taking lunch orders I'm like what?? What time is it ? It was 3:05 and on the menu it says lunch ends at 3pm...ummm ma'am what were you doing our order should've made it to that kitchen by 3 smh I was like find bring me back the menu and I ordered the shrimp nachos again. They got my order right this time but my drink was still watered down and I didn't like it at all...I ordered a Bahama Mama by the way. The ambiance is nice but I probably won't be back. Stay away from the shrimp quesadillas unless you like the dried shrimp out of a package.

I was skeptical about trying this place because there were negative reviews but my husband & I went last weekend and surprised how nice the place is. Love the colorful tex mex decor adding to the ambiance. The staff were attentive and music in the background is nice and not loud contrary to some of the reviews. Our server was very friendly and our orders were made accurately. Unfortunately these were the only positives. I hadn't heard great things about El Paso, but some friends wanted to check it out. I had steak tacos, which were overcooked and room temperature at best. The charro beans had no flavor, and the rice could have tasted more authentic. The ambience is a bit uncomfortable as well. We have now been here twice now & it was worse the second time around! My husband & I went last week, but then our daughter and son in law wanted to check it out. What took me by surprise? Every day of the week Monday through Friday, there is a special going on, so with it being Monday, the special was $2.99 12 oz margaritas. It looks so beautiful inside a table booth in a bar for you to sit. The first thing that hit the table was a basket of chips and salsa with black beans. For appetizers, we ordered the queso dip, and chicken wings with buffalo sauce. It was delicious don't sleep on the chicken wings. They came out hot and crunchy. For our entrée, I ordered the chicken burrito with a fish and seafood taco. My family ordered steak fajitas, chicken nachos, and tacos. We ordered the large piña colada it was massive! The piña colada was bigger than my head And it was not watered down!! You tasted nothing but LIQUOR and we love it! Our food came out in less than 15 minutes every time. After we ate the team came to sing happy birthday to me and gave me a shot of tequila with a plate of dessert churros. Needless to say, I will be coming back here. read more

We decided to try El Paso for the first time last night and it will be the last. The place is well lit and nicely decorated but the food was subpar. Also our waitress was not very knowledgeable and somewhat nice. There were 4 of us, we all ordered our meals. 3 meals came but my husbands was about 10 min late( we think they forgot to put his order in), our friends order was wrong it had no cheese or beans in hers. I ordered the bean nachos, never again. There was hardly any cheese on them and this black bean dip was all over them. I asked our waitress if it was black beans whole and I ended up with a black bean dip smothered over the chips and a very tiny side of sour cream, quac, lettuce. It was not enough to cover. Our friend asked for cheese for her burrito and out came a very small cup( the small size like a cup for medicine) and the cheese dip was watery and charged a 1.99. The other two meals were okay nothing special. The worst part of it all we got charged two meals. Our friends got charged for their meals but we ended up getting charged twice. My wife and a tried this place anyway after hearing average reviews from our neighbors. We were excited to have a new Mexican restaurant closer to us. Unfortunately, there are a few shortcomings currently with El Paso. The service we received was actually good and the drink prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is nice but the music was turned up too loud which made all the patrons speak louder to compensate. The menu is fairly extensive as expected but the prices are a bit all over the place with some items priced a bit high. All of that could be forgiven if the food was good. Which it unfortunately wasn't. The food isn't bad and is presented fine. It just lacks flavor and is below average now since there are so many good Mexican places elsewhere in the area. My wife and I may return, but are more likely to just drive a bit further to go to a better place for now. read more

I loved the ambiance and the staff were friendly and efficient. Alas the food wasn't good. The red sauce tastes like plain tomatoes no chili garlic or cumin. The tamale wasn't even as good as cheap frozen ones, Taco meat, flavorless, salsa was also more or less plain tomatoes. The complementary bean dip was good. I think this food was kind of low on the Mexican scale even. If you were going out for drinks it would probably be fine but for dinner, it's the same price as other places with better food. read more
