This place is like an alternative to Big Easy, except they do not serve seafood. If you like American BBQ food, and if you like MEAT, this place is for you. Word of woe though, they have replaced my local fish and chippies :( They are currently doing 50% off the bill until this Weds (18/11/15) lunch and dinner. Takeaways are currently unavailable but you can doggy bag food from dining in. And you WILL need it as the portions are huge. My friends who have visited warned me off the pulled pork and I do not particularly fancy chicken, so I opted for the pork ribs and beef brisket with hot link (sausage) and burnt end pie (think potato mash with meat at the bottom). The pork ribs are sweetened with honey and is oh so delicious. Brisket is very tender (but just not at the melt in your mouth Zelman meats point) and is slightly too salty for my taste. Hot link is amazing tasting but once again, slightly too salty if you do not wash it down with plenty of drinks or fillers like mash. Your plate of food comes with some sort of honey mustard sauce. The burnt end pie initially came too cold (i.e. the outside metal container was warm but unfortunately the mash inside was not heated up properly). I mentioned this and the manager came over and offered to give me a fresh one. I told them I'm ok with them heating up my existing one but they insisted. Nice service overall. Yes, wording are a bit strange in the menu. I can only think that these are what our American parts call them, but in the UK, these weird and strange sounding word combinations just confuse me to no end. Also their drinks menu have milkshakes and alcohol but somehow they do not have soft drinks listed. Trial and error means that we have figured out 1) they do not have fanta 2) yes they have lemonade 3) yes they have coke 4) they will just check how much these are - oh yes, £2.95 each. The sauces on the table were interesting, they all have a slight vingarette twang and most are sweet sauces. Nice but not entirely necessary. Conclusion: Better than Big Easy. But bring an empty stomach to eat here. PS: They do super hot chicken wing challenges here, amongst other challenges.

If you want good food and drinks in a very relaxed place you should come here. The chicken wings as a starter is a must, best chicken wings I've ever had! I ordered the pulled pork which came with 2 side orders, i went for the mac & cheese and the onion rings. So good! Yet another place where you get alot of food for your money. Make sure to book a table because because the line out was long.

Brisket & ribs combo with okra fries & hot links

If you like meat and U.S. BBQ then this is the place for you. Portions are huge, I opted for a combo of brisket & ribs with a side of okra fries and hot links and struggled to consume even a third of the platter. The brisket was tender and ribs flavourful, the okra fries were too dry even dipped in some of the sauces it was challenging to eat more than a few pieces. Table service was attentive however the standard of cleanliness is questionable having heard of unpleasant discoveries in unused napkins that would put anyone off, there was also no toilet tissue in the single WC on the premises at a time when the restaurant was not even busy.

The food here is goooood, especially the brisket (my god!) but it is fairly pricey with some burgers at £15 and over. The drinks are good (margariiiiiitas) and price wise are standard for London (£8-10). The service was very friendly and food came within a reasonable time. The vibe inside is nice and chilled. Each table has 3 homemade sauces which are good and needed for some of the meats which are a bit dry (pulled pork). The place is good for what it is - I've had nicer but paid more for it, I've had worse but paid less. I would recommend if you're in to your American BBQ!

The food was great and the restaurant was very nicely decorated. The only problem was the toilet which was not very clean.

Was disappointed to find them out of any type of ribs and coleslaw by 8pm. Very strange for an American BBQ restaurant.

No complaints - wings are perfect and the burger was decent. All for a reasonable price. Ideal place to start an evening.

The vibes inside from the furnishings to the menu were all post WW2 celebration themed and set the tone. We had a few rounds of drinks that were WW2 and train themed. The drinks involved various people from that timeframe. Several of the drinks were to be shared by 2 people and all were pretty pricey. I can drink pretty much anything so I ordered the drinks based on the unique containers they were served in. Our server said all the drinks on the menu were served with the apparatus they showed in the menu. When my companions tried ordering the shareable "Is it a pot of Mustard" drink they were told the bar didn't have that container. Hmmmm... Later I ordered the "Operation: Top Up" so I could get it served in the Jerry Can pictured in the menu and the drink just came in a boring glass. When I asked where the Jerry Can part of the drink was, she said unfortunately prior patrons had stolen them so they didn't have the Jerry Cans anymore. HELLO? That is the reason I ordered the drink! Didn't she just tell me the drinks came as pictured? Why didn't she inform me that it would be served without the prop? I certainly would have changed my order if she had done so. Other than several of the drinks not having props available, the drinks were pretty well done and hit the spot of the themed bar. With the bill being higher than expected, I would recommend coming here for only one drink and make sure you ask if your drink will have the prop as pictured in the menu.

After downing a Carrie Bradshaw-style cocktail at the chill subterranean Friendly Society (review:…read morehttps://yelp.to/4zJuovAN4J), Jamie W. and I were way too intimidated to face the manly crowd in front of Compton's. We went in the opposite direction on Rupert Street and found this inviting courtyard bar. It's marketed as a gay bar but... The clientele was more mixed than gay. Hey, it wasn't a big deal to us. Especially as we sauntered to the bar bathed in pink and royal blue dayglow. Boys bellying up to the bar. Oh yeah, we home. The print was really small in their comprehensive cocktail menu, but that didn't stop us from ordering more libations. Stop judging us. Jamie went for the £12.50 Margarita, and I continued my Cosmopolitan streak with their £12 one (photo: https://yelp.to/RsyQWeRD5R). We went back into the courtyard to find a table. The leafy terrace and strings of white light were quite inviting, and we ended up hanging out in this sanctuary until they closed at 11PM. Cool.
