I am BLOWN AWAY by how well-designed the escape room was. My husband, our 2 year old and our friend did "The Gift". Not knowing the difficulty level, we managed to solve it with 1:08 left on the time. Yes, we used our hints, but more towards the end when we were like O_O This escape room had three decent sized rooms within it and all the puzzles were so well-crafted and thought out. I've done a few escape rooms prior to this and this one is my favorite from top to bottom. What made me enjoy this even more was that our 2 year old was allowed to participate (free of charge) and he had a blast running around with the flashlights we found. Last, but not least, thank you Claudia for guiding us through our experience! Relationships and patience will be tested, but you'll have fun while they are!

Brought my youth group here. The service was awesome and the staff were fun! Our students had a blast and we'll be doing more of our socials here in the future! Thanks Ted door team!

Great activity to do with friends! We did The Gift escape room, difficulty is 8/10 but honestly - with a group of 5 it felt like a 6/10! It was fun, creative, and exciting! Definitely want to come back next time and try out Confinement. Also remember that they have a grace period of 10 minutes after the reservation time, anything after will be deducted from your time in the room!

There were 7 of us playing the escape room, and everyone had such a great time. We worked together, solved the puzzles, and we won. It was so much fun and definitely worth it, highly recommend if you love challenges and teamwork.

7/14/25 , out first time here. Wonderful layout and fun. We did the Prison Break. We escaped with just 7 seconds left. Very nice Warden who helped us, Nick. Took the elevator down, an intro then off to the escape room. Several rooms you use.

So so fun!! We did the game show experience and had a blast! Our host Dakota made our work outing so much fun with his enthusiasm! Our producer, so sorry forgot her name, had the perfect playlist to go with our vibes as well. Whatever you do, DO NOT press the buttons that you see while walking down the hallways - a coworker pressed them and we didn't know they stopped the time for people in those rooms! We feel so bad. Would definitely come back again because they come up with different questions for each game!

Came here for a birthday party and it was super fun! Questions are good for adults and teenagers. Probably not a little kids party.

Ask the Community - Red Door Escape Room

Could this be appropriate for 6-7 year old?

Yes! All of our rooms are family-friendly! Children under the age of 16 would require an adult chaperone to accompany them but all of our escape rooms are appropriate for children!

I'd like to bring seven 12-13 year-old kids. Does an adult have to do the challenge with them?

Yes, we require anyone who is 16 years old or younger to have a chaperone inside of the episode while they are playing. We would be more than happy to assist you in that reservation, please give us a call at (619) 679-1690, thank you!

Walk ins or advanced booking only?

Walk-ins are always welcome! Depending on the number of bookings that day, you may be able to go right into the episode or there may be a delay. However, if you're on a more strict timeline, calling ahead is a good idea!

How long does the escape room last?

    1 hour

You can tell they genuinely want you to have a great time. The rooms themselves are incredibly creative and immersive, with puzzles that go far beyond the usual "open another lock" style. They're detailed, clever, and full of surprises. I've done 3 of the 5 rooms so far, and every single group I've gone with has had an absolute blast. Something that really matters to me is having a private room. It makes the entire experience so much more enjoyable and comfortable, whether you're going with family, friends, or coworkers. Some escape rooms try to maximize capacity by filling rooms with as many people as possible, and that often means I don't get a fair chance to participate in the puzzles (which can be frustrating). At Lara's Labyrinth, every room is completely private, so you're never paired with strangers, and your group can fully enjoy the experience together. Whether you're brand new to escape rooms or a seasoned pro, Lara's Labyrinth delivers a fun, memorable experience every time. Highly recommend!

We were a little confused with a couple of the puzzles, but appreciated the helpful clues from Nassir. Having seen the movie (Shawshank) was a bonus. Take you're reading glasses, you'll need them. The lighting in there played tricks on my eyes at times. It was just my husband and I in the room, but we made it out in time! :D Make sure to arrive ahead of time. Although there seemed to be a lot of street parking, we had to circle through a few times to find a spot (10:30ish on a Saturday). Then, when we were leaving, we got stuck in the elevator. Luckily, we made it to the 1st floor (they're on the 3rd) with the doors slightly opened. I pressed the alarm button to get someone's attention. A guy coming in the building pulled the door open for us to get out. :{ So, if you're physically able.......take the stairs.

I found it to be better than a haunted house, cuz I was so enveloped with figuring out the clues that I would forget about the scares and I never knew when the scares would come. It was a multi room escape room and I would consider it a medium to hard level. Our game master was super friendly and helpful when we needed hints. I think we did a total of two hint through out the game and we managed to beat the clock and got out in time! The parking wasn't the best, it was all street parking with meters. When you get to the location it is a bit hard to find the front door because it is on the back side of the building up some stairs. But there is some signage to help you find the door if you get lost.

However, the Japanese Thriller barely felt on theme with the serial killer storyline other than the introduction video we received. I prefer escape rooms where I actually feel like I'm part of the story. This was a very different escape room than I have done before. While you always have to split up for escape rooms, this time we were forced to separate between multiple rooms so you had no idea how the other group was doing (this isn't great when you're forced to solve the room with strangers because you have no idea if they know what they're doing). It was definitely more chaotic than other escape rooms I've done. The rooms were small and they use locks for a lot of the puzzles, which isn't innovative. They also forgot to put back one of the pieces we needed to get the final combination, so we almost didn't make it out because we had to keep guessing. HOWEVER, the worst part of the entire experience was how RUDE the man was that was helping us on the walkie talkie. He would give us attitude every time we asked for a clue. Why give clues if you're going to rude when people use them?

There is an option to book for a private party though, if you want to ensure you aren't paired with any randos.  We played a variety of games such as Survey Showdown, Wheel of Wonder, Tic Tac Trivia, Name That Price, and High-Lo. Our hosts were super fun and engaging! Loved the buzzers, the big wheel, and all the lights and music, it almost felt as if we were actually on a game show. Some hiccups with the plinko chips getting stuck or falling out, but not really a huge deal. Winning and losing teams got to pose for pictures with a large and small trophy, respectively.  Overall, this was a fun experience and highly recommend for anyone who has always wanted to experience being on a game show, without the pressure on actually being on one that will be aired on TV! The option to book private parties makes this a great option for team-building excursions as well.
