This rating is mostly due to inconsistency with takeout orders. When they get it right, the food is excellent, but too often careless mistakes are made. The buffalo chicken mac and cheese is great when the blue cheese crumbles are remembered, the chicken birria tacos can be flavorful but often missing the chipotle sauce or broth (or both!), and the southern fried chicken is frequently missing the gravy. The baja fish tacos can be soggy with inconsistent portions, and the honey mustard wrap is often more salad than chicken. Checking your order before leaving can help prevent some of these oversights. And again, when the kitchen gets these things right, you're in for a delicious meal. Some other items we love that haven't become takeout blunders yet include the burgers, the nashville hot chicken sandwich, the greek salad, and garlic parm fries. The southwest steak and avocado bowl, however, is overpriced for the small amount of steak, and the vegetable sides need much more seasoning. Overall, this place has a lot of potential and some truly great menu items, but the lack of consistency makes it hard to fully recommend. read more

This will be the first of many trips to Red Heat Tavern. I checked out one of their four locations for brunch and i was so impressed. The staff was making, the space was clean, chic and inviting. The prices were so reasonable for the quality and presentation you get. Everything was 10/10 for both how it tasted and how it came out looking. We loved that there were vegetarian options galore. And not just salads--beautiful dishes that stand unmatched! Almost everything in house can be made gluten free too. There take allergies and food preferences VERY seriously which is such a win! Good pub food. I love the skillet cornbread! Trivia on Thursdays and occasional Sundays - a little loud but fun!

Had a work event here. They were extremely accommodating. Gave us a whole section and provided buffet style food. Food was great!

The cornbread was delicious, I had the steak tips which I forgot to take a picture of they were cooked to my liking but the sauce wasn't really made for the steak tips maybe they should have it on the side my husband had the southern fried chicken the side of white bacon gravy was mouth watering the mashed potatoes were good as well our server was so adorable and very accommodating, loved her personality not sure what her name was but we came in on June 5th and we sat at the high top by the bar between 4p and 430pm I think but it was great over all the margaritas should have been a tad more stronger instead of sweeter this is coming from a bartender that specializes in margaritas no shade they were good but could have been better read more

I sat at the bar this evening for a beer and to listen to trivia night. Music was good and the crowd was lively. I definitely did not feel rushed. Bartenders were nice and attentive. I decided to stay for some food. Beers were great. Burger was super tasty. I ordered a side of Brussels sprouts which were just OK flavorwise. However, I had to send them back because they were definitely not hot when they came out. I'd definitely try this place again. read more

This was our first time eating here. We sat at the bar. Brian was our bartender. He greeted us immediately and was very friendly. He was an excellent server. We asked about the turkey tips. I have to say, sadly, I want impressed with The Red Heat Tavern in Milford, MA. Wifey and I were up in the area for the Army-Navy game and this is where we had dinner the night before the game. When we arrived we were told it would be about a 20 minute wait...which seemed curious to me since there were multiple tables all around the bar area. When we were FINALLY seated 32 minutes after getting there, we were given one of the same tables that had been open the entire time...in the bar area. Already annoyed, but in need of a drink so Wifey had the pear/cranberry sangria and I ordered a margarita (it was in the menu and looked enticing). We also ordered entrees at the same time and Wifey got a simple classic burger with fries and I got the BBQ burger with fries. Wifey's drink and burger were a hit. The drink was great and she like the burger so there's that. My drink however was the sweetest-I mean overly sweet- margarita I've ever had (I actually needed up not finishing it). My burger was also a bit of a disaster. The bun, which I initially thought was toasted was simply stale and the burger itself was way overcooked (why ask me how I want it if you're gonna bring me well-done?). The bacon and BBQ sauce in the burger were both tasty, though I would have like just a little more BBQ sauce. We bother DID love the fries though. Overall it wasn't a home run for me for my first time at this chain. Our waitress was certainly pleasant, but it seemed like she had way too many tables and was struggling...so I left her a good tip...no one likes nights like these if you're a waiter/waitress. read more

I got the chili and the big a$$ pretzel.. the pretzel wasn't warm and neither was the chili the chili did have a large dollop of sour cream and cheese which may have cooled it down but I was not impressed the cheese sauce for the pretzel was already solidifying. My guest got the baked haddock with potato chip crust and a roasted red pepper beurre blanc sauce.. she said it was good but did not like that the green beans still had the tips on them.. the waitress was very friendly knowledgeable and attentive.. Great small chain with much better quality food than Uno's, Applebee's, etc. Service was prompt and friendly (I forget our server's name, but she had glasses and a tattoo on her right forearm). Ordered the steak avocado bowl. Super tasty and high-quality ingredients. I didn't have anything from the bar but, so far as I could tell, they have a good draft selection. Maybe not the best place for a big night out but, if you're our shopping and want to do better than TGIF, or if you happen to be in the area, you could do a lot worse. We got here right before the rush on a Friday night. Our waiter was friendly & attentive. My toddler loved pointing out all the cows & pigs on the walls on of the restaurant. We liked that there were baby changing stations in both the men's & women's restrooms. For our appetizer, we got the jumbo tater tots which were delicious. There are 6 of them. We visit ready Tavern on a regular basis because they consistently serve a wonderful lunch, the price is a reasonable, and the service is extra extraordinary. We have also had the pleasure of being greeted by the executive chef, Heather Palmer. There was an allergy concern with one person in our party and she took it very seriously and came out and spent several minutes discussing it with us. She has even posted the specific concern in the kitchen in case we come in on a day that she's not working. The ease of checkout using the QR code is another really cool feature of dining at Red Heat . Our favorite dish is the Cobb salad. We add the grilled chicken which is consistently moist and cooked to perfection. Lastly, the bathrooms are also very clean, which is a big plus ! read more

Me and my mom went to Red Heat in Milford for a quick lunch. Victor was our server and he was fantastic. We were in a little rush to pick up one of our family members. The meal came out super quick thanks to Victor. He was super attentive, very nice, and overall had a great character. They charge $8.99 to add the tips onto to a salad and each time over the past year the size is smaller and smaller. What is going on? Where is the value and why is Turkey more expensive then chicken. Met an old friend and colleague for lunch. Staff was great - very friendly and accommodating with our staggered arrivals and corny jokes (his, not mine). The place has a fun feel to it, encouraging relaxation and frivolity. We indulged. The menu reflects this, with lots of great sounding items, including traditional bar fare, comfort food and some more original offerings. I couldn't resist the Nachos: House-fried corn tortillas, jalapeños, fresh diced tomatoes, corn and black bean salsa, cilantro, cheese, scallions and a queso drizzle. I added chicken and, of course, guacamole. They were served in the pan in which they'd been baked with a generous side of salsa. They were amazing and I was unable to finish. It was a challenge to scrape the leftovers from the pan, where the cheese had baked itself in, but well worth the effort for those crispy, crusty edges. I seldom order nachos out, preferring to make them myself, at home. But these were top notch, a cut above the usual pub menu offerings. My buddy ordered the TAVERN CHILI: diced sirloin, ground beef, red beans, scallions, cheese, sour cream and house made tortilla chips. He added the Skillet Cornbread with Honey butter. Not being a red meat fan, I declined a taste of chili, but it gained great reviews and disappeared quickly. But the corn bread was something else - also served in the cast iron pan in which it was prepared. The honey butter was a nice addition and more than we could eat. I had come here before and the service and food were exceptional. Today however I was completely disappointed. When I came in around 1230 there was a large group being seated. Okay no big deal. When I took a seat at the bar, the bartender essentially threw the menus at me and didn't even bother introducing himself. He proceeded to take the order of what looked like "regulars" to me who sat down after I did. Great. I ordered an IPA and the nachos. The only good thing about this place is their selection of local craft beers. Also want to point out it looks like they allow underage kids who barely look old enough to have a drivers license sit at the bar. I just have one question, how do you screw up nachos? I could have made better nachos at home. It looked like someone threw chips on a half sheet with minimal cheese and then plopped guacamole and jalapeños on top. Horrid. Only reason I attempted to finish them was because I didn't feel like wasting money. Not once did the bartender ask how my food was or check in. I get it, the world is short staffed. But he made a point to ask the "regulars" next to me how everything was. Awful food, awful service. Will never be coming back here again. And sorry not sorry I didn't bother leaving a tip for the bartender who clearly didn't care about providing quality customer service to a single person, more or less only focused on the parties of two or more. read more

Tried this place out for the first time and was thoroughly impressed. This spot sits in busy Milford shopping plaza on the end and I would highly recommend you make reservations due to this place having lines of waiting customers out the door on weekends. The inside of this place is very large and has tons of seating, odd setup in back near kitchen, they probably could of fit more seating back there, but its a big open gap. The hostess station here gets jammed with take out orders and with two hostesses it still looked a little messy. However the two managed and we got seated. The menu here is an array of various tavern food, burgers, sandwiches, appetizers and entrees of steak, chicken and fish. The cocktails are tasty, loved the Sangria and they had other creative drinks. The food is pretty decent, delicious barbecue grilled cheese, really good nachos and everything seemed to come out cooked to order. The service here is what really stood out, just impeccable, fast, friendly and absolute right on point. I was impressed at the amount of staff and how quick everyone was working. We found this place after doing some shopping in the area. Red Heat Tavern is a real steal! We came in 10 minutes before close, and they STILL took us with the stipulation we order in the next couple minutes. So, we quickly ordered Classic and Blue Cheese burgers with a plate of fried pickles to start. The food came quickly - first the huge plate of fried pickles and peppers, which could easily be shared by four people. Fried pickles are always good, but mix in a few fried, spicy peppers and add a dill dipping sauce? Sign me up! There was a definite kick to the batter itself, and the spicy bites of peppers made me realise why they call it Red Heat. The heat is mild, which allowed us to enjoy the other flavours (primarily dill) in the dish. After devouring the fried pickles, we hardly had room for our main course. We each took only a few bites before asking for a box, paying, and skedaddling out of there, so our server could do the same. I loved my Blue Cheese burger and 5 Cheese Mac and Cheese side (contained onions). The savoury blue cheese complemented the tangy peppers. I found the burger to be moist, but my husband and I both agree next time we'll order them medium. The flame grill chars them a little too much at medium well. My husband got the Classic burger with bacon, which tasted just like a classic burger should. The 5 Cheese Mac and Cheese contains onions and is topped with breading and more cheese. It's a heavy and savoury side, and I enjoyed the Alfredo-like cheese sauce. The onions were different, but could also be a bit strong. However, the Onion Straws were soft on the inside and the light batter made them crispy on the outside. Overall, I would definitely come back, and I'm glad they let us in just before close.
