Stopped into a small local breakfast spot this morning. No tables were available when we arrived, so we sat at the counter. The waitress quickly took drink orders, but that was about it, no small talk, not much personality. The manager was friendlier and chatted a little more. The interior is small, and the walls lined with local art for sale, seemingly by artists of all ages and disciplines Their menu had a decent breakfast, with the main staples like eggs, pancakes, waffles and French toast. I got an egg combo, the food and it came out quickly, but was very basic. The food lacked any real flavor or excitement, just eggs with a slice or two of American cheese melted over the top. Definitely not impressive, especially for the price, I'd probably try a different spot next time. read more

Server was nice but not very bubbly. My food came out cold probably because the server had to come back twice to ask how many pancakes for the other person I was with so my food was probably done and getting cold while those cooked. When my food came back it wasn't hot but tolerable. Food is not that great, the server sections were all over the place, and tables weren't wiped down before some people sat. read more

Waitress was extremely rude. When we came in they told us to sit anywhere but apparently the one place we did annoyed the other waitress. We ordered drinks, one of which came wrong so I told her and the response was "ok" then walked away while talking to her. We ended up just leaving because it was clear she didn't want my son and I to order anything. We sat an hour before they closed at 1pm so I have no idea why we would have been treated this way. I went this morning and it was less busy than it usually it and I found the service to be in the slower side. I received my drink quickly but then waited almost 15 minutes to order. The waitress seemed to have to many tables to manage everything and no one was helping her. The food was so so. Just ok breakfast food. You can cook the same at home. Perhaps if they used farm fresh eggs or something to freshen it up. The ambiance is no different than a messy dinning room in someone's home. All in all I spent 45 dollars with my husband including tip. Kind of expensive for an average breakfast of eggs, bacon. Toast and home fries. I used to live in the area years ago and went all the time. The son has taken it over from his dad and it's gone way downhill- enough that you should continue on to somewhere else too. read more

Since new ownership Galante's has gone downhill which is too bad. The new ownership is very unprofessional, disrespectful, and uneducated in the food service industry. Staff that has been there for 10+ years that bring in a large amount of their customers, are fired with no explanation. Please consider this when deciding to go for breakfast or lunch. read more

His son took over and is one of the rudest and most unprofessional people I've ever met in the service industry. Shitty to his staff. It's ashame what he did to his Dad's business. Really pains me to write this. I've been dining here since I was a kid and the staff have always been an invaluable part of the experience. The management shifted a couple years back and the new folks are abusive to the employees and rude to the guests. So sad that they've run a great little local spot into the gutter. We would dine at this establishment solely to support certain wait staff. Despite having hair in food we still would return just for the sole fact of two staff members. We will not support this business again since the two LONG TIME employees have been wrongfully terminated (illegally). I hope their regulars follow suit! Was looking forward to trying this place for a bit. But never have time til this day. I went in and it was very empty. There was 1 person at counter, 2 tables w people at them. Thought it would be a bit busier as it was still lunch time. There was a lot of take out. The decor seemed dated. I sat at counter waitress came right over. Asked if i would like something to drink. I got water and asked if there was a lunch menu. She gave me that and also said that they were serving breakfast and lunch. I said thank you. I got my water, checked out specials on menu and board. Seemed pricey. But for me that day it was a treat. I eventually decided on the grilled tuna melt and fries on rye. When it came the cheese was melted and tuna was still cold perfect. But the fries were hot like i like them but felt there wasn't enough. It was not worth the $ of $9.50. Felt it was very over priced. But everything was a bit high. Probably why it was so quiet. There were 3 servers and looked like 3 cooks in kitchen. It was clean but as said before dated looking. Might try again but not for awhile. read more

As someone who travels quite frequently and I'm only in your town for 2 weeks, I found the service to be hit and miss. 1st time was great! Today not so much! I didn't catch the waitresses name otherwise I'd post it. Attitude city! I'm not from the east coast and I actually wanted lunch at 10am due to working nights. The attitude started there. Acted like I was putting her out when I wanted more tea (which my glass had been empty for more than 10 minutes while she stood in the back talking to the other waitress and cook) and then slammed it down when she did bring it. Cannot go wrong here at all! Yummy food every time I have gone for breakfast! I mostly go here on weekends and I highly suggest getting there early or going on their off time [after 9 or 10 am] because it is always so busy here! The food is hot and fresh. Came to Galante's late one Sunday morning after reading the great reviews here on Yelp, and I'm so glad I did! The food was just wonderful, our waitress was very friendly and helpful, and the whole atmosphere of the place was just pleasant and great. There was a wait, yes, as with any great breakfast spot, but the wait was so worth it. I had a mushroom egg white omelet with hashbrowns and wheat toast, and even something as simple as the toast was delicious! The veggies in my omelet were pre-cooked so they weren't raw inside the egg (you'd be surprised how many times that happens!), the cheese was flavorful, and everything was seasoned just right. Even for a "greasy spoon", I didn't feel bloated or gross when I left, which is always a plus. Really good, honest food all around. I will definitely be back, and I can't wait! As a note, as another reviewer said, they do take credit and debit cards, but for the price of the bill only, not tip. Make sure you bring cash to tip the friendly waitresses! read more

Though I had to park down the street, it is usually a good sign that it's busy! I wonder the issues on a weekend though, because this was a Friday? Coffee was promptly served. Decor (or lack of) was expected. Food came out fast and hot. My omelet was great and hash browns good. Side of raisin bread was correct. Portions were good but not surprising. Was looking forward to trying this diner at a recent family reunion. Called from out of state to see if they took reservations and was able to make one for 18 of us. Called the day before to confirm, and was told (by a second person) we were all set. Arrived the next day only to have the manager tell us they did not TAKE reservations...he thought I must have called another restaurant. Not sure how many "Galante's" there would BE in Medway, but was easily able to verify the number I had been calling was indeed their's (I actually hit the redial button as we stood there and we heard it ring). Never figured out if some of the staff are just clueless or if a couple of them were playing some sort of stupid joke. Super frustrating. Can't comment on the food, unfortunately, but won't be going back to see if it's any good. read more

Decor was simple; nothing too romantic or instagramworthy (:p) The potato hash is very different -- akin to potato fries rather than a potato patty... interesting and delicious. My boyfriend and I just moved to Millis and to our delight, we found this place just down the street. It's an easy choice for breakfast (haven't tried lunch). We've even opted to be late for work to get breakfast at Galante's first. Leave your PJs on. Bacon is always super-crispy (YUM). I usually go with salty breakfast food. Boyfriend goes with sweet items. Both excellent. Wish they had local maple syrup instead of Smuckers packets, though. Staff is wicked nice. So nice one time my boyfriend turned to me and asked if our waitress was being sarcastic. No, she was just being REALLY nice. Cheap food. They take cards, but you can't put the tip on the card. Fantastic little greasy spoon, tucked just far enough off the beaten path that only some savvy weekend breakfaster's know about it. All breakfast items are tantalizing like Banana Pancakes, Texas French Toast and as many eggs in what ever manner you want. Delicious home fries, although a little on the mushy side still very tasty. We stopped in for breakfast after seeing the ratings on yelp. It wasn't horrible, but it certainly didn't wow us. I had a spinach, feta omelet and it was made with frozen spinach - would've been nice with fresh spinach. The hash browns were also a bit greasy and the coffee was weak. We also noticed syrup came in individual containers, similar to what a fast-food breakfast would serve which we thought was strange. Also, the wait staff, while very friendly, seemed to ignore a dirty cup lying on the floor, and also did not thoroughly clean a table next to us, especially the chair that had remnants of pancakes from the child that had just left with his family. Unfortunately, the next guest sat in the dirty seat. Overall, a so-so experience. I guess you get what you pay for as it is rated with one dollar sign. read more

My family has been regulars here for years and I recently revisited last weekend. Solid breakfast cafe but it is often crowded and there aren't too many tables - maybe 20- with seating at the breakfast bar as well. The prices are economical (e.g. $6.95 for an omelet) and the portion sizes are appropriate as well. I liked my omelet but would skip the side of ham next time. Friendly staff and service. Fast, efficient, and friendly service. Food was average but the portions were just right. The atmosphere was upbeat. The decor was basic. I ordered "Wendy's Omelet" with hash browns and a grilled English muffin and a side of corned-beef hash. The omelet looked and tasted fine. My only complaint was the mushrooms that were too large and not cooked quite enough. The hash browns and English muffins were perfect. The corned-beef hash wasn't as greasy as you'll find in other establishments - and it's strong, salty flavor was appreciated. My wife ordered the chocolate chip pancakes with a side of turkey sausage. The pancakes were perfectly average - although helped by the chocolate. The turkey sausage came in patty form and was disappointingly dry. The kids ordered waffles and pancakes with a side of sausage. The waffles were large and cooked perfectly. The pancakes were fine. The sausage was of the brown-and-serve variety and by all accounts tasted great. The only real complaint from the kids had to do with the Smucker's syrup that came in pre-packaged cups. Apparently, they've been spoiled by the "good stuff" we serve at home. :-) All in all, we found our trip to Galante Restaurant to be pleasant and satisfying. It will become part of our regular breakfast place rotation. read more
