Grilled cheese and tuna w fries
    Catherine S.

Was looking forward to trying this place for a bit. But never have time til this day. I went in and it was very empty. There was 1 person at counter, 2 tables w people at them. Thought it would be a bit busier as it was still lunch time. There was a lot of take out. The decor seemed dated. I sat at counter waitress came right over. Asked if i would like something to drink. I got water and asked if there was a lunch menu. She gave me that and also said that they were serving breakfast and lunch. I said thank you. I got my water, checked out specials on menu and board. Seemed pricey. But for me that day it was a treat. I eventually decided on the grilled tuna melt and fries on rye. When it came the cheese was melted and tuna was still cold perfect. But the fries were hot like i like them but felt there wasn't enough. It was not worth the $ of $9.50. Felt it was very over priced. But everything was a bit high. Probably why it was so quiet. There were 3 servers and looked like 3 cooks in kitchen. It was clean but as said before dated looking. Might try again but not for awhile.

We walked in and were immediately greeted by a couple of chipper teenage hostesses and we were even able to pick our table. Our server seemed a little off at first but he warmed up after a little banter; perhaps he was just feeling us out. Beer menu was great but did not necessarily contain anything rare. I had a foam ipa and a stout from dorchester brewing to follow. I had the smash burger. It seemed like a true smash as it was crispy on the outside and had the right amount of grease. The house made chips were a nice addition as I'm not a huge French fry fan. My wife had the fig and prosciutto flatbread and she liked it. The fig paste was tasty, arugula was fresh and there was even some cheese pull. Overall, it was a nice visit and I wouldn't hesitate to go back based on how this visit went.

The prosciutto and fig flatbread was decent but nothing to rave about. The hostess was bubbly and sweet, however the waiter seemed unimpressed himself. Wish we would have found something more hometown/ local spot.

This place happened to be exactly in the middle between where my friend and I live, so we decided to meet here for lunch. The street corn flatbread was tasty and cheesy, and my friend's fried chicken sandwich was also good. Service was friendly if a bit slow. After lunch, we went apple picking which was I think $34 for a peck which is pretty standard nowadays. They had macoun, macintosh, cortland, and some other varieties, but I prefer my macs. The apple orchard is very small compared to other places I've been, but served its purpose. Would have been nice to have a couple ladders in the orchard for easier access to apples on top. Would have also been nice if the bathrooms were not portapotties--my friend and I chose to hold it lol. They also have a pen with chickens, ducks, and goats that look fairly happy and well cared for. We came on a weekday so it was not crowded at all, but I would imagine it gets packed on weekends.

We made a quick stop at La Familia after spending the afternoon at Jane D'Amico Playground, and it was hands down the best decision we made. Everything about our visit was phenomenal: Food: I ordered the mussels in white wine sauce. My son got the chicken parm, and he hasn't stopped raving about it. It was, by far, the most comforting and delicious meal we've had in a long time. Hospitality: The staff here is unmatched. A special shout-out to the hostess, Noelle, who was absolute gold! She went above and beyond by bringing my son paper so he could draw while we waited. Speaking of waiting... the food came out super fast! Bonus: They do NOT play around with their bread portions. Big, fresh, WARM, and generous. You gotta love a place that knows the key to a happy heart is extra bread. We left feeling so grateful, full, and taken care of. My favorite thing to get is a "build your own bowl," which I load up with fix-ins and toppings to complement the raw fish kick. The staff here are very friendly - the young man and woman are always working hard, and it's really awesome that they can always greet customers with such enthusiasm. If you're timid about building your own poké, they have signature bowls you can choose from on their menu. The large bowl is extremely filling, and they don't skimp on the protein scoops. Generally, I mix tuna, salmon and shrimp on sushi rice. Cucumber, mango, jalapeños and edamame are a must in terms of adding color and more flavor to the bowl. Green onions, pickled ginger, masago and kani salad are awesome to top off the bowl, and avocado when I want to splurge. The chojang sauce is my favorite one to toss everything together, and wonton crisps and shredded nori will forever be my go-to crunchy toppings. So there you have my custom bowl - not to sound biased, but I think you'll love it if you try it. The service is excellent - I've never had a problem with my order. The team members take their time, and the hospitality is great. They're happy to explain menu items or offer new suggestions, which I really appreciate as an indecisive but particular person. I commend them for holding down the fort and serving clients - very impressive, and I can only imagine switching between making drinks and building bowls. Speaking of, I appreciate how they have Loose Leaf, the boba shop, inside Pokemoto as well to fuel the bubble tea cravings. Everything here (and there) is high quality (stay tuned for my Loose Leaf review), and I enjoy the matchacado smoothie with boba a lot. I'm a wee bit worried about cleanliness in the dining areas at times, but it's not the end of the world (a napkin would do), and the recent times I've grabbed something from Pokemoto, I've taken it to go. I understand the establishment is more fast casual, and it can be tough to keep up at times - this is more of a reflection on past patrons who may not see the line of crumbs or utensil sleeves they leave behind. Overall, I love this location - ample parking and seating. I think it would also be nice to have seats for solo visitors and couples (at times I feel bad occupying a booth that could fit at least six people) - it would be cool if the boba shop was set up cafe style for longer stays (will gladly order 3 matchacados in one "WFH" session).
