However, the experience as a whole has been disappointing, especially given the high cost (over $225,000) and how strict they are with insurance policies. What led me to leave a low rating is the post-op care -- or rather, the lack of it. I changed jobs, and with that, my insurance changed. During that transition, I received no notice or bill, but when I tried to schedule a much-needed post-op follow-up due to severe stomach pains, I was told I'd been sent to collections over a $250 bill I never received. Even worse, when I offered to pay the balance directly, I was refused and told I had to deal with the collection agency. No prior warning, no email, no phone call -- just sold off to collections. I found this incredibly harsh, especially for a post-surgical patient still in pain and trying to navigate life after a major procedure like this. It's hard enough adjusting to a new body and lifestyle without losing touch with the very team that promised continued support. I'm thankful for the weight loss, but to undergo such a serious surgery and then feel abandoned is deeply disappointing. Better communication and compassion for patients during follow-up -- especially when dealing with billing -- would go a long way.
