After getting quotes from four different contractors, we decided to go with Davis Home Services…read more There were several things that impressed me with Rob from the very start: he gave an excellent quote (and stayed within budget), he was always available via call or text and responded immediately, his work was similarly prompt, starting on the project within two days of my reaching out, he strikes me as a genuine, real person -- at no time did I feel like I was talking with just a contractor looking for cash; he was helpful and answered tons of questions, even ones unrelated to his project, and he did plenty of extra work to come up with quotes for various projects I was considering and was never annoyed if I didn't go with one. This was all just from the initial visit and follow-up messages. I hired his team to paint the interior of my house, replace three interior doors (one needing new framing), install one exterior door and frame, and handle a window project that needed sanding, scraping, sealing, and painting. Everything went extremely fast and the quality was excellent (even though I told him I wasn't looking for perfection). They said it would be no extra charge to move all the stuff around to complete the job -- and if you'd seen the disaster the kids' rooms were in, that was no small favor. His painter was kind, patient, and respectful, always asking permission to enter the master bedroom and doing various touch-ups free of charge. The entire job was completed in just three days. They kept the house looking clean even though they had to work in a messy space, and Rob had no problem with me putting sticky notes everywhere I wanted touch-ups done. After the technician left. I called and called and called and asked for someone to come back quickly to do the job. They offered a return visit 1-3 weeks out. That was too late- by that time the new Gutters would be attached to the house and would impossible to fix unless you remove the new gutter. I was charged with hanging a light fixture they never hung and repairing wood rot that they never repaired. I asked for a refund and I think they were refunded about $30 because they said there was a minimum trip charge of $500! no one mentioned that before, but they enforced it even though it was never disclosed, and even though they never did a repair correctly This is a horrible company run as fast as you can away I attest that these facts are true and accurate with no embellishment.

They listened to direction well, and corrected any issues that arose (they put back a light fixture in the wrong place and moved it after we pointed it out). I feel they knew what they were doing and the best products to use. They covered our flooring and elements that were not getting painted to prevent damage and I can't find any paint spills or smudges anywhere. Our project also involved a lot of wallpaper removal. I was nervous about this because if the wallpaper is not removed correctly the wall can be damaged or leftover wallpaper glue can cause the new paint not to adhere correctly. But it seems they did a great job with that part too. They communicated well with us via text. We weren't able to check on the project in person every day so they sent photos and details on progress.
