    Mariners Boil
    Laura H.

Don't let the recent 1 star ratings keep you for trying it again to form your own opinion! I told the host Red Lobster is all over our social media and he said "Oh, I know!", so we had high expectations. We had a great experience! Our server Shenequa took excellent care of us! We had the Coconut Shrimp appetizer and it was the right amount of breading to shrimp ratio. My husband had the Mariners Boil and it was good, but he did say it was expensive for what you get - a baby lobster tail and one small crab leg cluster. I had the Shrimp Trio and it was great but I was really there for the cheddar bay biscuits! They were hot and fresh right out the oven.

First time having Red Lobster in years and I was disappointed in this location. I tried the new salt and vinegar shrimp and was disappointed in the quantity. If I counted correctly, I may have received 5 pieces. The flavor was different, I probably would not order it again. The shrimp scampi was flavor. I did appreciate it being packaged separately. Compared to the shrimp, the caesar salad and cheddar bay biscuits did not disappoint. The salad was fresh, decent size for takeout and came with extra dressing.

The hostess and our waitress were both very welcoming, friendly, and attentive throughout the visit. Our appetizers and drinks came out pretty quickly, which definitely started the meal off on a positive note. However, the entrees were a little underwhelming. We ordered the "award-winning" prime rib, but unfortunately it arrived lukewarm. We also tried the shrimp and flounder platter. The shrimp were actually really good, but the flounder lacked seasoning, and the overall plate temperature was lukewarm as well. While the food didn't completely wow us this visit, the service and atmosphere were pleasant enough that I'd still come back to try different menu items in the future. Overall, I'd say it was an okay, decent experience.

As we perused the menu, we waited sometime for our server, whom was also tending to the patrons at the bar along with tables. I'm assuming because it was just before noon they were not yet fully staffed. We proceeded with our orders. I opted for the blackened chicken Alfredo with a caesar salad and a sweet tea. To be honest I was not impressed by the service or the food. While the salad was fresh and the warm honey butter croissants were well received. The blackened chicken Alfredo was bland and required me to add a great deal of black pepper, hot sauce and parmesan cheese to make it palatable. Additionally at the table there was an order of a 1/2 rack of ribs and a 14oz prime rib both with loaded mash. The rib recipient was as equally unimpressed as I was. However, the prime rib seemed to be enjoyed. Unfortunately, this was such an unmemorable dining experience for me that I didn't take any photos of the food. Just A Note: The warm honey butter croissants and the sweet tea were the high points of the meal.

I visited the Gyromania Grill at 2558 Main Street in Elgin…read morefor lunch today (First Time) and I was totally enthralled & impressed with the restaurant, the food, and the staff. Having moved down to South Carolina six years ago, & given the hyper local establishments nearby my home that offer something I can only say somewhat passes for a gyro sandwich, Gyromania Grill far exceeded my expectations, and passion for an Authentic gyro, the kind I recall from up in New York yonder. From the moment I walked into the restaurant, and was greeted by Sheila, to receiving my Hummus appetizer with pita bread triangles, to receiving my Gyro pita sandwich, I couldn't believe how authentically tasty & delicious the food was. The food is prepared fresh on the spot, nothing laying around in heating hampers, from the french fries that are cut fresh daily, and fried when ordered, to the veggies that garnish the Gyro, to the freshly prepared tzatziki, my taste buds exploded with excitement at how delicious everything tasted. Honestly, I never expected to have that sensation of a well prepared Gyro the likes of what I recalled from NY, down here in S.C. but alas, I found *THE* spot for authentic, Great tasting Greek food. The restaurant itself is bright, open, VERY CLEAN! (I mean, Extreme Clean!) You can tell the employees take pride in presenting the establishment and the food they serve in the spotlight. Watching the staff behind the counter prepare the food, I noted how friendly and happy everyone was, no "fanny frowner /why am I here" faces, and compared to oh so many other food establishments I've been to, that impressed me a lot. I originally was going to order the lemon potatoes with my gyro, but they weren't prepared when I ordered, yet once they were, Sheila and her assistant surprised me by bringing by a little sample for me to taste, so next time I come in, I will absolutely enjoy them with my order, but the greek seasoned fries that came with my Gyro were trey`delicious just the same! The restaurant atmosphere is nice, I got there right before the lunch crowd, so it wasn't too crowded, I'm told sometimes the place can get really packed (no doubt, people enjoy eating delicious & tasty food, & Gyromania Grill delivers that!) The portions are decent, the prices very reasonable, the staff is friendly, and even if you have to drive a little out of the way to get there (as I did) it's well worth the effort. I Absolutely WILL BE Returning again in the very near future, and look forward to sharing the Gyromania Grill experience with folks I know will appreciate how authentic and well prepared this food is. ***** 5-STARS ***** For Cleanliness, Quality, Service & Value! Put Gyromania on your bucket list of places to visit for a great meal! You won't regret it. `JT

We were wanting to order a side of Saganaki cheese but the owner said he had to stop selling it as nobody ordered it. We were shocked. Apparently most people don't know what it is. Being from the Chicago area that was a key thing at all the Greek restaurants and we've never found anyone in town that made it. The first two times we went here we had it and it was very good. The Gyros we had were huge...really packed with lamb and all the fixings. The only thing we found wrong was the tzatziki sauce was put at the bottom of the pita. With all the fixings and everything that went on top of it you really only tasted the Tzatziki when you took a bite of the bottom. The meat and everything else is really piled on, so if you eat from the top there's no sauce. It would be nice if they would put a schmear of sauce along the whole pita and possibly some halfway in the gyro...or else give you a side of tsatziki to dip it in. They do sell it if you want to order extra. I'll do that next time. Nice place....good food. Their pricing for meals (salmon, etc) is about like the pricing you'd expect at a nice restaurant. Hopefully business will keep going well for them as there's really not much out in the northeast side as far as Greek food.

Their commitment to fresh ingredients and a simple menu has garnered a loyal following. But does Five Guys live up to the hype? Well here is my opinion based off the Five guys in Sandhills and comparing it to other locations I've been to: Food Quality and Taste (5/5) Burgers: The star of the show. Five Guys uses fresh, never-frozen beef, and it makes a noticeable difference. The patties are juicy, flavorful, and cooked to order. You can customize your burger with a wide array of free toppings, allowing for endless combinations. Fries: Hand-cut and cooked in peanut oil, these fries are a standout. They have a perfect balance of crispiness and fluffiness, and the portions are generous! Hot Dogs: Grilled perfectly, Five Guys' hot dogs are a solid choice, especially when loaded with toppings. Customization and Options (4.5/5) Five Guys offers an impressive level of customization. With 15 free toppings to choose from, you can create a burger that perfectly suits your taste. This level of personalization is a major draw for many customers. However, the menu itself is relatively limited, focusing primarily on burgers, hot dogs, and fries. Atmosphere and Service (3.5/5) The atmosphere is classic fast-casual: clean, bright, and functional. The open kitchen allows you to see your food being prepared. Service is generally friendly and efficient, although it can be a bit inconsistent depending on the location and time of day. Value (4/5) Five Guys is pricier than your average fast-food chain, but the quality of the ingredients and the generous portions justify the cost for many. The ability to customize your burger with free toppings adds to the value proposition. Overall Experience (4.5/5) Five Guys delivers a consistently satisfying burger experience. Their commitment to fresh ingredients, customizable options, and delicious fries sets them apart from the competition. While the atmosphere is basic and the prices are a bit higher, the quality of the food makes it a worthwhile indulgence. Highlights: * Fresh, juicy burgers * Perfectly cooked, hand-cut fries * Extensive customization options * Generous portions Areas for Improvement: * Limited menu beyond burgers and fries * Atmosphere could be more inviting * Prices may be prohibitive for some Final Verdict: If you're looking for a delicious, high-quality burger, Five Guys is a great option. Just be prepared to pay a bit more than you would at a typical fast-food joint.

Almost everyone ordered some sort of the burger special for $9.99 which includes the bottomless fries and a soft drink. Reviews were mixed...some didn't care for their hamburger, saying it was overly done and hard. I ordered the Haystack which didn't have the Red Robin sauce but had the fried onions on it. The burger was tasty and done right but there was a sort of smoked taste...possibly from the onions. Fries are good. I had ordered a regular coke and I think she brought out a diet coke. She said she would take it back and get a regular coke but I told her just to bring a half and half tea. She came back with a regular coke. My order was the last one and when she came to the table she said it wasn't correct...so went back and re-ordered another burger. While I was waiting she brought me out my fries. Finally the burger did come out after half the group was almost finished. Then it came time to pay. Everytime we go here we have to deal with the Kiosks on the table. We usually have anywhere from 5-11 guys at lunch ant it's always a hassle trying to figure out what kiosk has what order. It's really not that hard as the receipt has the table # and order # on it....but today all of our orders were mostly put on one kiosk. I was the first to use the machine and logged in with my rewards number. Found my receipt, added my tip, scanned my card and then the machine said it was analyzing my credit card, then popped up and said your check wasn't ready yet...wait a few minutes. I tried this four times. Finally passed it to someone else and they tried it several times. It finally worked for him. I got it back, tried it three more times and got the same message. Finally i just gave my credit card to the waitress and paid with my bill. Last time I'll use it. Our overall rating was a 3.0.

The fries tasted good but were not exactly piping hot. I am not surprised to see other reviews here are mediocre at best.
