I lived in Cayce in 2004 and Carolina Wings &Rib House was my favorite place to eat. 21 years later and possibly in a new location than the strip mall on Hwy 1, this visit made it a 5-star experience for me. A 3.2 rating...really? No, it's better especially if you love wings. First of all, the building is big and seems to be relatively new and loaded with TVs everywhere. They also have daily specials. What I came for was the wings. There are at least 30 flavors with lots of them taking on a BBQ flair. Here's the one feather I would raise about Carolina Wings and Rib House and that is how am I suppose to try all these flavors when you have to order at least 18 Wings to get 2 choices? I usually have a work around for that by ordering my wings with no sauce and ordering as much sauce on the side. My waitress was fantastic though as she went the extra mile by asking me if I would like to sample sauces. I asked her about 5 sauces and she came back with a few fries to sample a few. After sampling a few, I decided I had to go with Cajun Honey as I have never been anywhere else with that flavor. I knew I had to go Carolina Gold being in South Carolina. My Wings were hot and fresh! The Carolina Gold was thick and had a rich mustard flavor. The Cajun Honey was truly special with its contrast of spicy Cajun spices and sweetness from Honey. It actually tasted well with blue cheese, which is hard to do in my opinion. My waitress also gave me a side of both sauces since I told her I love them extra wet. My sweet tea was refreshingly sweet! Perfect atmosphere fir gameday with big time Wings and it is rated way too low on Yelp. Sunday afternoon the place is more than 3/4 full. Service was good not great. Longer wait to be seated, our server was decent. Food - Wings were perfectly cooked and sauced. The house chips were a mess, some over cooked and clumped with,undercooked chips. What I find disappointing and why only 3 stars, is that the cook, expo or even the server could look at the plate and see that the chips were not ready for the table, but the group decision was to push it out. read more

Okay, so I walked over here because I really really wanted hot wings these past couple days, and of course I was hungry. It's a cool little place. They have a main bar in dining room, and they have a bar and dining area, in an enclosure in the back! That's where I chose to sit, because I basically hate people. My bartender was super good, super nice and super attentive. I don't know her name, but she was really good. Sports bar type vibe (I'm sorry, I hate using that word), TVs throughout the entire establishment, and they're playing college football on all of them from what I could tell. I don't really care about TV or woke sports for that matter. So we can go ahead and get to the food. If you guys see my profile, you guys can see that I do a lot of cooking. I smoke a lot of meat, and I cook a lot of high-end stuff, so I'm always reluctant to order barbecue anywhere I go, just because I know it's not up to my standard. I ordered 18 wings, I'll get to that in a second, and then I realized they had a rib/wings combo, and my bartender suggested that I just get the "Rib Bites". They were 10 bucks, so I was like "ahhh wth. Why not." Yeaahhhh, HARD no. Although they came out really hot, (most likely from a steamer tray) these ribs were fall off the bone ribs. All these people out here that don't know the first thing about barbecue, RAVING about "fall of the bone ribs) and think that once (and STILL is in MY book) "smashing" meat (burgers, sausage, etc.) is now all of a sudden a widespread practice, instead of taboo, just go with the trend and don't actually know food. As I digress, if I ever saw an employee of mine smashing ANY meat, for ANY reason, they would be terminated immediately. Anywho, the flavor of the sauce was good. But fall off the bone ribs, require zero effort. These ribs were most likely steamed for about 6 or 7 hours, and then maybe baked, possibly electric smoked, but fall off the bone ribs will get you disqualified in a competition. I kind of wish I stuck with my gut feeling it didn't order them, because they basically sucked. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend coming here for ribs, but if you're a ignorant eater that 'follows whats trending' you probably won't know the difference. Now we'll get to my wings. Man, WERE THEY EVER FRESH AND PIPING HOT! I ordered hot (which I think was supposed to be Buffalo) and lemon pepper dry rub. The hot wings, I asked for extra sauce which I got, the sauce was okay, they weren't spicy hot AT ALL (2 out of 5 spiciness level according to the menu) but pretty good flavor. My lemon pepper, I could tell that these were seasoned before being fried, I really think they should have seasoned them afterwards also, and they would have been perfect. Bartender kept my drink full which was nice. Favorite place for good food. Catfish plate is great and comes with slaw and a side. Ribs are always good as are the wings. Haven't had anything yet that I wouldn't order again. The servers are usually right on with the service. read more

This place is locate 3 minutes from SC United FC fields. My Brother-in-law picked this place out and what a find it was! Located in a smaller strip mall. I could have drive right past it. For any college FB fan this place has many TVs for watching games. I read a Yelp review that recommended the catfish fingers so we got them as a starter. For meals my wing loving son split an 18 wing with my Brother-in-law and got half lemon pepper and half garlic Parm. Not sure it was an even split but they houses their wings. My sister ordered fired shrimp and tots and I ordered the BBQ ribs and garlic parm wing combo. Every joined the clean plate club and was complete satisfied with the large portion sizes. The cost for this meal was significantly less than what I expected. Everything we ate we enjoyed. This place will be a frequent spot when we are in town for soccer games. I highly recommend this welcoming and inviting place for large portions of tasty food at a great price. read more

Took well over an hour to get our food the family that sat down after us was done eating before we ever had our food.

Went to see the Dixie Youth Baseball Tournament and this was the closest spot to the field. I'll get it out the way whoever made the sweet tea should get an award For our app we ordered the catfish tenders that came out piping hot and were fresh and tasty .. The tarter sauce complimented them very well even the house hot sauce was good and I'm very loyal to my Texaspete... for my entree I I ordered the 12 pc Cajun buffalo ranch . These were bomb .. I could taste all 3 flavors in the sauce. I also ordered wing should ... It's a must you cover them in vinegar and add a little salt and then dip them in the ranch. Our waitress as very good and friendly made great recommendations .... Overall I like this spot because the quantity of food was great for the price.. if you order wing chips it's a serving that can feed more than a few ... also the restaurant gives the best sports vibe read more

Ordered today, which is a Sunday, online. Was given the ready time to be 1:20. I went in the restaurant at that time and was told they're running behind. Which I understood as they were busier than I've ever seen them. I was told ten more minutes. No problem. I can back in ten minutes later. Still not ready. I waited until it was 30 minutes after the "be ready time" and asked for a refund. Not hostile in any way. So who I assume is a manager comes over and angrily starts pushing buttons. Put our name in for 9 people was told they would have to put two tables together and its going to be a 45 wait we said ok. One table got done now waiting for 2nd table. Came in at 2 pm with my two children. Waited 10 minutes no one even came to see if we wanted drinks. When we got up one girl was cleaning tables and the one girl who came to our table came by accident then went to give the check to another table. When we got up there was only three tables in the section actively eating and section next to the bar had one table. Each table with two people each. The food was AWESOME! My husband and I both got the wings and tenders with wing chips. The wings were flavored perfectly, the tenders were juicy, and the wing chips, well, those are the best handmade chips we have ever had. They were just the right amount of crispy and chewy. Definitely not the best experience any time we tried the food. We have tried them three times over a period of time just to give the place a fair shake. Three times First time the food was barely warm and the service less than inviting but the food wasn't bad. Could have been better portions but it was good not great though. Felt like we were imposing on the server for being there so we decided on ordering again. Second time we ordered take out and it was a better so we assumed it was just an off night first time. The final and last time the food was wrongly prepared and not good. It tasted old and it was heavily covered and I mean heavily covered in spicy salt. It was not even edible to be quite honest. Very poor service. Servers acted like they were annoyed by our presence and we had to ask for plates and utensils after our food arrived. We had to ask for our drinks to be refreshed. We would thank servers for bringing what we asked for and most times we didn't get a "your welcome" or any acknowledgement back. Food was good, but I will not go back and have serve like that. I went to diner with my family and that was my FAVORITE place to go. This time I had a terrible experience. We waited for over 1 HOUR and they never took our order. The 3 ladies that were at the front didn't even care at all. The 2 Hostess's were on their phones and not caring. Catfish fingers are the biggest and best I've ever had. Beer was cold and the wing chips were average to say the least. Service was average at best. Not bad. Not great. Bathroom needs a bit of attention. Floor was covered in water;etc. No excuses. Now...onto the wings....consider the name?? You would think that was the star of the show. NOT!! They were decent size, decent freshness. The main issue was little to almost no seasoning. That's a big turn off. We got these wings to go. So by the time we got home it was too late. Had a really bad experience at another location years ago. Food poisoning...no response from corporate then. So we figured what's the point in complaining now. Surely they don't care. They certainly didn't care about our experience several years ago so whats to say they would give a crap now?? Too bad. I was actually almost happy till I got into the wings when we got home. Also the blue cheese and ranch are not made in house. I'd probably go back for other items on the menu. Just severely disappointed in their wings. From what I remember it was always a hit or miss. I don't remember the bbq sandwich being very good either. Never tried their ribs. I don't think I'm that adventurous considering the previous experiences so far. Wings and ribs in West Columbia. I was in the area for a work conference and was looking for a decent lunch place when I stumbled across Carolina wings. When I walked in it reminded me of Buffalo Wild Wings just half the size. Multiple tv's and a large bar quickly drew my eye. They do happen to have a lunch buffet which was nice. For $8.99 there were two styles of wings (buffalo, and bbq) full salad offering, soup, and fresh chips. The wings were done well and the salad was fresh. For the price it was actually a pretty decent value. Staff was friendly and attentive. I'm sure to be back in the area and given the amount of choices in this particular part of town I'll also be stopping back in to Carolina wings and ribs. read more
