This Red Lobster has been around for years and it used to be the go-to spot. However, things have drastically changed over the years and unfortunately it's a hit or miss here. The service has always been well and I have not had any issues with staffing, everyone is friendly and helpful. That said, during my last few visits it seemed like they may have been short-staffed because quite a few tables weren't cleaned off in a timely manner, trash was left behind on the floors while we were trying to enjoy our meal. The food is good, but it can be too salty at times or not seasoned enough. Again, hit or miss. The drinks are also hit or miss, but this time it was a hit. I tried the margarita flight and it was delicious, worth every penny! I was expecting small glasses, but they were full-size. I'd recommend sharing them if you're a lightweight. They have remodeled the interior but it's nothing special. Still, it's a solid place for seafood. I usually get the same thing every time, and of course the cheddar bay biscuits are always on point. We visited Red Lobster and although the drinks sometime miss the mark, we know how to mix and make it right - to our liking anyway. But it IS callled Red Lobster. So let's eat. I love, Love, LOVE the Brussels sprouts and I get them every time. I get the lobster, crab, shrimp, salmon and I have had it many ways and it's always good. Place was not busy. I waited to be seated 5 minutes. No one was at the desk 3 waiters walked by said nothing finally was seated 10 minutes no waiter. I could go on and on with the things that went wrong. Everything took so long which I understand if they're understaffed but it just seems liked everyone was playing around. The busboy immediately started harassing my group of friends but wasn't cleaning the multiple dirty ass tables around us. The waitress barley came around to communicate or check on us. we had to ask for refills after our drinks sat empty for a while and Didnt get bread for at least 30 mins of being there. When our food finally came parts of the meal were missing and it wasn't even worth asking to fix it. All the employees seemed disorganized and the restaurant wasn't well kept. Orzo Rice (Thank goodness, no more Quinoa!) and perfectly cooked Broccoli. I forgot to take picture, so what you're seeing is half the order as my leftover. Sis had Ultimate Feast (leftovers, too.) All new decor and crew. Greeted at the door by at least 2. Super special server, Katrina, went out of her way to make sure our late lunch was completely enjoyable. Let's start from the beginning, me & my boyfriend came here 08/06/2025. We sat at the table for 10 minutes before the waitress even came to the table. She didn't introduce herself just " what can I get you guys to drink" her attitude was horrible. To make matters worse she told us we couldn't add chicken to a side salad so the manager came over and after explaining to him he definitely had no problem adding the chicken we wanted.Everything was fine until the food came out and my boyfriend didn't like his pasta. The waitress had an attitude of course and called the manager over who then acted very nonchalant, the bill came and he told us " the pasta was made right so I won't be taking it off the bill " very rudely and nonchalantly. I hate that for the waitress and him because I work in the service industry and I'm a very good tipper but I didn't leave them anything . I would not recommend coming here , and I hope the manager and waitress can get better training or go get another job because they are in the wrong place. Took about 10 minutes before we were even greeted or asked for the number in our party. The 30 minute wait we were advised of turned into 40 plus the initial 10 so almost an hour wait on a Monday night. Things turned around with the server. He was friendly and informative. I went for the unlimited shrimp and they were out of the Dragon Shrimp so that was a disappointment. The coconut shrimp was the best of the three I had. The tequila lime was pretty good and the popcorn shrimp was what you'd expect in popcorn shrimp. My with had the Lobster Tail and Shrimp and the Lobster tail tastes like freezer burn so that was a major bummer. I ordered the parmesan crusted chicken with the lemon sauce and my boyfriend ordered the southwest shrimp bowl and we were both disappointed. My chicken did not taste like it had an ounce of parmesan in the breading, it tasted like basic bread crumbs that were over cooked with no seasoning. The lemon sauce did not taste like lemon either it tasted like a bland cream sauce if you can even call it that because it was way too thick. I had the side of mashed potatos and they were lacking seasoning as well, simply bland. For paying 18 dollars for a dish you would think they would but some seasoning on it. The only item I ordered that was slightly appetizing was the clam chowder though I don't think it was good enough for the price and portion. This place used to be a lot better but now its just a sad reminder of the past, its a shell of a resturant I used to like. Now on to my partners dish. The shrimp still had there tails on which is surprising for a bowl that you are supposed to mix together and eat with topping. At a tex-mex restaurant the tails would be removed. So it's surprising they tried to do tex-mex without meeting that standard. The look of the dish was disappointing as well. There was no appeal just thrown together lettuce, shredded cheese and a few crushed chips you would find at the bottom of a bag, a few shrimp with the tails on with a scoop of rice. Stopped for the summerfwst and ended up getting lunch off the regular menu. Endless soup , salad and biscuits..... was disappointed in the Clan Chowder, do not remember the cheese being such a distinct flavor in it. Not a fan! Also got Australian grilled shrimp appetizer and that was more than enough for lunch. Husband had the waygu Bacon Cheeseburger and it was even cooked as requested. The food as always is relatively good. The service at the bar while we waited for are take out order were great as usual. The problem that my friend and I had on the evening of 3/1/24 as we tried to place an order at take out. This was around 4:30pm. The entire take out/kitchen crew were beyond rude with the exception of one young lady whose name I didn't get but by trying to defend herself to the customers, she escalated the situation. There was one person waiting for services i that area when we arrived. That very quickly became 7. & customers whose orders were called in! It is too horrendous to go into detail in this review. I was there for my aunt birthday, sept 25 at around 6pm and received a dissatisfied service from sever. Her name was Nae. I ended up giving her a tip only because she told us that it was required due to the large party, but honestly I did not want to tip her at at all !! I felt like she was not attentive, courteous , polite and had no etiquette for waiting tables . When dinner arrived she passed out plates from the other end of the table and did not take the time to bring plates to the other end of table, she handed plates to my family and had us pass them down . Someone could have gotten burned! Also I had no refill on my water and had to keep reminding her to bring napkins . My salad I had was not tossed in dressing, it was as if someone soaked it in dressing and poured dressing on top ( I sent that back and got my dressing .on the side) . I ordered a loaded bake potato and it was not loaded( this was not her fault). Also at 2 different times she reached over my food to pass someone something but never said excuse me or anything. ( very rude). During this visit she did receive help from supervisor Antonio and he was a Awsome, very attentive and polite ! Thanks Antonio ! I can go on and on with the multiple mistakes made at dinner but bottom line, this young lady needs more training because receiving service like this can cost the business to lose customers. This place has been renovated and reopened. Back in the day, I would have said this was the best Red Lobster in Metro Detroit area. Today is the first time I have visited since their reopening. I visited with one other person, and we were seated pretty quick! We were excited about that, because most restaurants have a long wait time. Our waitress greeted us within 5 minutes, took our drink orders...then shortly after took our food orders. Waitress was not that friendly, and didn't have great customer service skills...but she was rude. So I guess an A for effort. Food took almost 40 minutes to come out, once arrived both of our entrees were cold. We told the waitress, she was not very empathetic...but did say "So, y'all want more scampi?" Lol! Well, the other person I was with asked for the manager, to make management aware of the cold food. We were able to speak with management, not a huge deal. My takeaway for establishments...PLEASE send your employees through customer service training if they are interacting with your customers. I order curbside pick up. When I arrived I waited in my car for about 5 minute no one came outside to help. So I go inside the TO GO area and I rang the bell about 3-4 times. I ended up waiting for another 2-3 minutes. No one came to help. I finally got fed up and decided to go around to the front. I let the lady (she had locked 2 toned hair)at the front know that I was here for my order, and I had been waiting and ringing the bell for a while now. She asked me what my name was and rolled her eyes then headed to the back to get my food. So my family and I tried the newly renovated Red Lobster near our home for my daughter's 23rd birthday. It appeared to be relatively busy, but we were seated within 8 minutes. Upon sitting down I wound up placing my forearm in a sticky spot of partially dried soda. About 15 minutes later, our server asked for our drink order. Unfortunately when she showed up with the drinks I couldn't help but notice the glasses were dirty. I wound up feeling the outside of my sons soda and felt the same crusty debris on his glass as well. Upon mentioning this to my family, my wife also said that her glass was crusty. We wound up mentioning it to a server who brought two glasses of water to our table, that no one ordered. She promptly took my wife's glass, but left my sons and mine. When our server returned, she asked about the condition of our glasses now, not realizing that only my wife's had been replaced. She quickly brought out two new diets for us. But after 54 minutes, without our orders being taken, we had enough. We left, vowing to never return to this particular establishment. Went in last night for my moms bday(Wednesday night). It was pretty much empty. We were a party of 9 and maybe 5 more tables dinning in. After sitting down at 7 we immediately gave our drink order. It took literally and hour and 15 min for our whole table to get drinks. Even in the time we waited for drinks we never got biscuits. The glasses were dirty. Our server never came with refills for water or to ask if we wanted more drinks. We decided to just go up to the bar to get our drinks. The restaurant was pretty much empty. The bartender herself was had zero sense of what she was doing behind the bar. This was the worst experience I've had ever had. I've gotten better service at McDonald's. This has by far been the most nasty, unpleasant and unsanitary service I've ever received! We were sat at our table to wait for our server. While waiting, i casually noticed a server talking to his supervisor at the table right behind us. Not eavesdropping just paying attention to my surroundings i noticed they were having a personal conversation. After waiting at least 5 minutes or more, we were finally greeted by our server. I was surprised to find out it was the same server that was just talking to his supervisor at the table behind us. Bad start to begin with. However, we still accepted him as our server. For some reason, he was very rude and impolite. He made us feel like HE was waiting on US. After ordering drinks, we were served in the nastiest glasses I've ever encountered. When i mentioned the glasses, he snatched them off the table and set them to the side without the slightest apology. Strike 2 at this point. I enjoy this restaurant so much i was still willing to try to overlook everything. We then got our bread and salads. EVERY LAST DISH was covered in filth where you could see it and feel the dirt on the dishes which also included the utensils. By the time i realized it, my lady was already eating. I've never been so angrier than watching her eat that food from these dishes. After i asked for a manager, ofcourse the one the server was originally talking to behind us came over to the table. When i asked him to run his fingers over the dishes, he immediately could confirm what i was saying. His resolution was not to apologize but to just say they would re make it. When i told him we went interested in eating there, we got up leave. He then asked us to wait. He came back with a gift card, dropped it on the table and kept going. Again, he neglected to apologize about anything that happened. I have never been so disappointed in @redlobster. I feel we were treated horribly and will most likely never visit this location again.
