It is a hit or on will get fresh product. You have to check it before you leave the location. I believe they need better quality control, and more adult supervision. If you in the store itself, they always have younger workers. I have spent thousands of dollars in this location and will never do it again. It really is outrageous that you would put out a stale product when I asked you in advance is it fresh and you the worker says yes. Thank goodness I hadn't gotten too far away before I checked to bring back their brick of a product. Deeply disappointing do better. read more

Oh My Gosh! I don't know why I haven't reviewed them before They made an amazing wedding cake in 2015. Oh so good! This summer we purchased two dessert trays a 50 piece and a 25 piece tray for a birthday party. The variety of desserts was incredible. Each piece was a work of art and so delicious. I feel like this place has been here awhile but I never knew. Driving into the parking lot, I was a little concerned. The strip mall is kind of desolate and run down. I wasnt expecting much. Walking in though, I saw a beautiful bakery with TONS of baked treats galore! Gosh it was overwhelming how many options they had. I made my way to their gluten free section and was pleasantly surprised to see a nice variety. They are all bite sized treats so I got literally one of everything they had. Bite size....don't judge me! I will say that the raspberry cheesecake and cheesecake duet were both very good. Both fresh, moist and very flavorful. You'd never know they were gluten free. The key lime I was not a fan of, the consistency was a bit off for me. I did not like the brownie, it seemed too hard and not very moist. If I could leave negative or no stars I would. This was the worst cake ever. It was my Son's wedding cake. Very disappointed. This cake was not suppose to have fondant on it and was suppose to have 3 layer with different mousse for each layer, and was to be chiffon not white cake. It was a white cake with all rasberry cream filling it didnt even taste like a mousse with whole cake was fondant. I was referred by someone else to them that had a wedding before him. We used to buy cakes here for all of our family's occasions, because the cakes were delicious. Our favorite was the venetian delight. They were a little bit pricey but we were always sure the cake we bought will be so good. Then we moved houses. so its been a while since we last bought a cake from them. Then last week for my son's 17th birthday, i decided to buy a sweet dreams cake even though it's a little bit of a drive. When I got there i saw the prices went up. The small cakes were $38 and the big cake was $55. It took me a while to decide but eventually i decided to buy 2 small cakes. A venetian delight (our favorite) and neapolitan (something new to try). My family was so eager to eat the cakes but we were so disappointed. When we sliced the cakes it caved in. The cake layer (for both cakes) was too spongey. Like they used too much egg whites or something. Then the icing for the venetian tasted like it was just whipped butter. The venetian didn't taste like it used to before. I know the pandemic probably affected the prices, but the quality shouldn't have deteriorated if they increased their prices. I guess next time its better to just buy a costco cake. read more

Cakes are hit or miss! My sons first birthday and we went all out getting him 3 huge cakes! One was amazing the other two were mediocre not worth the $160 price tag for each! It had fruit tarts, with a super flaky shell and a light cream middle! Best Gluten Free Brownie...Period! I was in town visiting family and whenever I come home, I always look for unique gluten free treats to bring my fiancée who has a strict allergy. I called around the area and found Sweet Dreams and spoke with Sam, who I believe to be the owner, or at the very least the manager. He told me of all the options they had so I came by immediately. Visually I was blown away. They already had 4 great flavors ready, but I was also informed that they could make just about every cake in the store gluten free with a bit of notice. I took home all 4 flavors (key lime, raspberry, brownie and cheesecake brownie). Each were INCREDIBLE. The standout was overwhelmingly the brownie. The perfect mix of flavor, moistness and texture. I ordered a coconut cake for my birthday. The presentation was good but the cake itself was dry and it didn't have any flavor and the icing wasn't sweet. The representative on the phone said that the bakery usually doesn't do coconut cakes but will substitute coconut instead of chocolate pieces, but that shouldn't have affected the cake batter taste. We ordered the cake from them for my friend's daughter's wedding. We wanted the cake to be delivered at 2pm so we have time to decorate it before we go to the wedding ceremony (which was an hour away). There were originally 4 of us to do it so we can finish it faster and we had plenty of time to travel. The cake didn't arrive until 3pm. When we received it, we noticed that it was slanted/tilted. We told the lady who delivered it, she tried to straighten it, but because she didn't succeed, she said, "well, I didn't make it; I'm just here to deliver it." (such an attitude, I might say). Plus, it took us more time to do it since 2 of our friends left to attend the ceremony; yes, my friend and I missed it because of this. When we complained about it, they only said, "well, we normally deliver our cakes 2 hours before guests arrive." Two points for you ~ first, you DID NOT mention that when we ordered the cake. Second, if we wanted it at 2pm, you should be there at 2pm. The customer is always right. Also, they didn't believe me that it was tilted/slanted. They asked me to send them a picture so they can see it for themselves. I'd say, ask your delivery lady because she knew that it was slanted to start with; she tried to fix it, remember? As for the cake, it was dry and tasteless. The only saving grace is the chocolate mousse. IMHO, don't be trapped here. We LOVE this place! Their petit fours convinced us to have them provide our wedding cake, and they did an incredible job. Our first encounter with Sweet Dreams was at a wedding expo, where my (now) wife and I were swept away with their petit fours. These cakes come in either white or chocolate, and have a variety of fruit, chocolate, caramel, etc flavored cream fillings. Sweet Dreams stole the show, so we decided to visit their store. We had more of the petit fours (which are on the regular menu), and got to tour their displays of cake models in the back. The models of the cakes were truly amazing, to a point where it would be hard to eat something so beautiful! The execution on wedding day was flawless, where they delivered from Warren to downtown Detroit without any hitches. We wound up going with a three tier cake, paired with two sheet cakes (to reduce the cost, per the bakery's advice). Different tiers had either white chocolate or caramel filling, which my wife, her parents, and I all agreed were our favorites. Our wonderful experience with our wedding cake, and the fun process of selecting it, has made Sweet Dreams one of our favorite places! read more
