I wasn't feeling well and wanted something easy on my stomach. I got the opened faced turkey sandwich with gravy. It was what I needed and very bland. The turkey was served on a piece of white bread and topped with gravy. It also came with boiled carrots and pasta salad. Nothing was seasoned. While this is what I needed in the moment, I wouldn't likely go back on a normal day because I prefer flavorful and seasoned foods. On the phone, they said they had some in house made pies, but when we got there they were all out of the hand made and suggested a cinnamon roll that they claimed everyone loved. I would give this place five stars every single time. I have been going there since before. It was even called Andarys. They really have changed the reputation over the years from what it was. I've seen at least four remodelings with the decor on the walls and the colors on the booths. The service is always great. The owner is there a lot and his wife and they walk around and ask everybody how things are. The food doesn't sit there long in the window. They refill your coffee and water and pop. The Gratiot Hash with eggs the way you like 'em and includes broccoli, mushrooms, greek cheese sitting on a bed of shredded potatoes. Good home cooked meals at good prices. Plenty of seating in booths & a small counter. A little challenging getting a wheelchair thru the main entrance, but doable. Private parking in lot to the south of building & on street too nearby. This place is a classic diner type restaurant with homemade comfort foods that are served up hot and tasty. "Look for the crowd/ lines" they say to find out where the locals go, the streets were full of cars and their parking lot had a few spaces left. The joint was jumping but all of the employees were lending a hand wherever it was needed and in very personable and professional manner. Definitely a hometown feel as staff were addressing customers by name while diners were greeting each other as they were walking in and out, steady flow of carry out orders the whole time we were there. Crystal was our server and excellent customer service with a smile. Daily Specials and soup choices, and a wide variety of choices: starters, salads, sandwiches and wraps, main entrees and each category had 8-9 options; breakfast lunch and dinner. I had the fish and chips- 3 nice sized pieces of cod and steak fries, homemade tartar sauce was perfect! My sister has Chicken Cordon Bleu which was made from scratch, as were the mashed potatoes + greens beans that were steaming. We both had homemade chicken noodle soup which hit the spot along with the loveliest slices of bread / butter. Ranch salad dressing also homemade. Seating was all booths in both sections and even the counter seats were near full capacity. Prices were very affordable for the amount and high quality food they serve: my F&C $12.99 and our bill was $28.00 and change. We had water to drink. I would say it's mobility accessible even with the 2 thresholds about 2-3" high to enter. It was definitely another 5 star experience for us and highly recommended you stop in. This is my favorite place to eat! I always get the spaghetti and meatballs, the meatballs are so delicious my mouth is watering right now!! The whole staff is very kind and helpful,! The decorations are all so sweet too, very nice sit down restaurant if you are ever wanting to go somewhere that isn't a huge chain! Their chicken noodle soup is to die for! My meal comes with a soup and salad, but instead I always get the coleslaw which is equally as delicious as everything else. The service is really great so are the people their wonderful!!! they do have some good dishes but unfortunately I've had quite a few dishes that were not good. They always on it though, so that's why I gave it at three because they're decent and the people are, but unfortunately not all their food is. read more

I cannot say enough nice things about the family I grew up with their kids in Eastpointe and it's a family-owned Diner / restaurant where you can tell everything is made with love right down to the service when you dine in... all the way to the take out when you pick up, the waitresses are so sweet and remember always to tip even if you're getting your food to go the waitresses really appreciate it and these people are are so sweet they deserve nothing but the best and respect! their chicken noodle soup is amazing for a cold winter night and so is their bread basket. You really can't go wrong with them hear it's pretty traditional I've had it all over the past 20 years of my dining here and for breakfast lunch or dinner this is a very great restaurant to go to that is low price and great quality I'd advise you take your family here and start making memories as well :-) read more
