This place used to be top notch. I've been coming here for the last 6+ years. Unfortunately, this time around there were many problems. Two of the fruit were old, they looked and smelled spoiled, the employee took care of it right away when I mentioned it. The place was also not clean, the area where the yogurt is, was not cleaned in a while, there's sticky old food on the counters, sides of fridge, chairs, tables. This place needs a good clean. Went here with a friend and her kids. I was hoping they would have at least 1 non dairy option (another local fro yo place down the street regularly has 2). I cannot consume dairy, so I was pretty disappointed to find out that when we got there, they only had one and the machine was empty. OK. My friend discovered there was another empty machine. I asked if the 1 could be refilled and she said it would take 30 minutes. So... Only 6 flavor options left. As someone who has grown up in the area it's sad to see this location going downhill. It was very dirty, even the windows and front door were filthy and covered in fingerprints. Very limited froyo flavor options, a lot of the dispensers were empty. There was no mochi. Frozen yogurt isn't too bad but ingredients to add are difficult to add without spilling. The ingredients were stale and the customer service was cold and unfriendly. They freaked out when my 5 year old walked away with his cup, grabbing at him like he was trying to steal when he just didn't understand he had to put it on the scale. As soon as I called him over he put his cup on the scale no problem and the ladies working there started gathering all of their sprinkles and moving them far away from the table. (Late post) came in on New Year's Eve since my family and I were spending the night at home and wanted to pick up a treat for us to enjoy. Got two froyos for us to share with some fruit, chocolate chips and mochi. When I got home, we all took a bite of the froyo and the mochi was hard as a rock. Almost cracked my teeth trying to eat one (mochi is chewy like a gummy). These ingredients were obviously very old and stale and the owner proceeded to sell them to me anyway. Red mango is the best frozen yogurt place I've been to. They always have super yum flavors and tons of great toppings. Besides frozen yogurt they also have smoothies and açaí bowls and different options. Super fun for a date night or hangout with friends or a place to take your kids! They have a rewards program that gets you five dollars off after a certain amount of points and you earn them quick! This location in in a fun place with the danada square fountain and fireplace and a little shopping center around. I've had a small addiction lately for these froyo places...I guess I'm determined to hit up every one during the summer months. We all have to have goals in life, right?! I suggested this place as we were headed to Wheaton to go bowling this past weekend. The Town Square area gets a little busy when everything is open but later on a Saturday night it was just perfect - we found a spot right in front and brought our creations across the street to enjoy by the fountain. Compared to other frozen yogurt place with the same set up, they have less options in flavors and toppings as Forever Yogurt but we were happy with what they had to offer. I also like that there are two size cups to fill, and tasting cups as that is a plus - you don't have to ask for them and can pretty much sample everything before filling up so to speak... I settled on the white chocolate & the oreo. Their frozen yogurt is all natural and you can tell as the taste isn't as strong in the flavors and that is good. The flavors I tried weren't overly tart either. Then I went on to fill up on the toppings...satisfied with all there was to offer, especial the pearl colored purple and blue sixlets :) I was even happier upon check out when I checked in on yelp to find 20% off!!! I love fro yo, I've been to most places out there. So what makes Red Mango better than the others?? First off, it's their ingredients. Everything is all natural. Their Nutty Potion is made by mixing real Nutella. Same thing with the Slam Dunk which is made of real Oreo pieces. Second, this location has great service. The owner of this franchise is often behind the counter and he's great. He does everything to make you feel comfortable and a valued customer. Lastly, Red Mango is constantly running special deals. They had a Valentines deal, there's a Yelp check-in offer and right now they are running a $5 May special. A bit on the pricey side, but what yogurt place isn't? There's only one size cup so make sure you don't fill it up and add lots of toppings or you'll be paying $10 for that treat since they charge by weight. That being said, the Madagascar vanilla yogurt with blueberries, strawberries and chocolate chips was very yummy. The fruit was fresh and at peak ripeness. They list a lot more flavors on their website than are available. I assume they rotate through the flavors on a given day/week, but the nice thing is everything is self-serve and they have little sample cups so you can try a flavor before you commit to it. I liked that courtesy and I hope they don't stop offering it just because some people will abuse it like the group of kids who went in there and sampled all the flavors and left without buying anything. It was a hot day so I looked up frozen yogurt on my trusty Yelp app. I saw that Red Mango was near the park we visited, so we decided to go. I haven't been to a Red Mango in years. The shop was located in a nice, newish looking outdoor shopping complex. The shop was clean, but the space was narrow with a weird layout. Upon entering, you will see the a couple of tables with chairs. The cash register and topping bar is to the right past the chairs. The froyo dispensers were all the way in the back. Another family was trying to decide on flavors and took up most of the froyo dispenser space area since it was so narrow and cornered in. Fortunately, our little one made her mind up right away and decided on the Slam Dunk Oreo cookie froyo. However, I could see how the space can be a pain if the place were busy. Our little one picked the most random toppings (sour worms, marshmallows and sprinkles), but the actual Oreo cookie froyo was really good and actually tasted like the real thing! My husband ordered the strawberry smoothie and I ordered the mango. Both were made to order so there was a little wait, which was fine. Our smoothies were good, the Oreo froyo was awesome and our cashier was friendly. If we're craving froyo and we're in the area, we'd come back. They have several different types of yogurt from original to chocolate to fruit flavored and you can sample them before you pick your flavor. I always go with the original with fresh fruit or the boba bubbles (they burst in your mouth). Our kids got chocolate with sprinkles and a few gummy worms. They have so many toppings you can pick from something healthy or not. I'm sorry it took me so long to come back and I'm sorry I lied to Ryan. When I came in today and he gave me a warm, friendly greeting, he quickly asked if I had been there before. Last time, my introduction was so flimsy, I knew I needed a 'redo' so I told him no. ! :( But I don't regret that, because the fantastically friendly and thorough explanation of the concept that I got today was what I *would* have expected on my first visit. It erased all the nuisance-y feelings and confusion from before. I really appreciated the detailed info, down to the fact that there are sample mini-cups so you aren't stuck with a flavor you don't care for. I was more cautious this time with yogurt quantity and instead focused on the toppings...the boba balls were beckoning. They are like bubble wrap for your mouth...each pop just makes you happy.
