a bowl of oatmeal with strawberries and blueberries
    Khalid F.

I spotted this place by chance while headed home one day. The name sounded interesting, so I Googled it and was pleased to discover that it's a healthy snack place. They offer bowls, protein shakes, and protein waffles. I made a mental note of it and finally made it over today when I was in the area. There's adequate parking in this plaza. The interior is fun and vibrant, but there's limited seating. The menu on the wall is a little far from the spot where you enter and place your order, but they have paper menus on the counter. I was in the mood for a bowl, so I went with the acai bowl. It consists of a berry puree (which I believe includes protein powder) topped by granola, coconut, strawberries, blueberries, almonds, and honey. It looked amazing, and tasted amazing too. Some tartness from the berry puree, but complemented by the sweetness of the honey and nuttiness from the almonds and coconut. With 24 grams of protein, it was a perfect post-workout snack. At first I did think it was a little pricey at $12.49, but it was basically a meal. Plus, you're getting something fresh and healthy while supporting a small business. The young lady running this place was super friendly, as in 11 out of 10 for service. I don't recall the last time I received such friendly service. This is the type of business I want to support. Service was fairly quick, and there's decent seating inside, perfect for catching up with friends or relaxing solo with a drink. We tried the karak chai, which was super flavorful and refreshing, and the madras coffee -- which honestly stole the show! It tastes just like authentic filter coffee from India, rich and perfectly balanced. The bun with malai and honey was light, fluffy, and paired perfectly with our drinks -- a simple but absolutely delicious snack. Definitely recommend this spot if you love authentic chai or South Indian-style coffee -- a true hidden gem worth visiting!

I also got a mango refresher. -karak cheesesteak 5 - it is so difficult trying to find a good place that makes cheesesteaks. The one by me skimps on the meat. However, here as in the picture, you can see they were very generous with the meat. The meat was very tender and flavorful. I like that they put their own spin on the sandwich with their spices. Not spicy. -grilled tandoori chicken sandwich 5 - I gobbled this up within minutes. The chicken was very succulent. The spices and the sauce made it very tasty. -mango refresher 5 - very refreshing drink. Good size cup.

I love that the amount of sweetened condensed milk was just right where the coffee didn't end up being too sweet. I do want to point out that the drink didn't seem like the strongest coffee around, and the taste closer resembled tea with a little milk added. I should have gone to the Vietnamese coffee the cashier offered! I also tried a piece of their sour cream coffee cake. Warmed wonderfully, and with just the right amount of sweetness, crispness, and just a little tang from the sour cream. This was terrific, and something I would absolutely get again. The vibe is classic with lots of wood, and plenty of comfortable seating. However, if you choose to take advantage of their WiFi, you are asked to buy a drink first, and then every 30 minutes after an hour. I understand where this comes from, and it serves as a deterrent from someone buying one drink and spending a working day in here. However, it also makes Sweetwaters seem like less of a spot to chill and catch up on Yelp reviews (for e.g.,), as I'd have to set a stopwatch to not break the rules. Final verdict: while the Dragon Eye could've had some coffee flavors, the coffee cake helped bring the experience up. While the vibe is classic, don't expect to sit and work without keeping the drinks coming.
