Red parrot lounge needs to bring lil bit of soul back, the entertainment is lacking quality that's why there is hardly anybody dancing

For years I've been wanting to try this place. After an outing in the Desert with my sister-in-law, we decided to try this restaurant it would be both our first time. My sister-in-law and I walked into the restaurant and found the place to be very busy as you would expect at dinner time. The crowd was mostly elderly, could be regulars. For appetizers, we ordered the potato skins. For our meals, I ordered the special of the day, Seabass with pilaf, and vegetables. My sister-in-law ordered the soft crab cake. And before our appetizer and meals arrived we were served a basket of rolls which looked like regular rolls, but when you bit into them, they were warm and very tasty. Both of our meals were very good. Sadly we had no room for dessert. Where our table was situated, we could see pretty much the entire restaurant. The only thing that was not visible was the sitting bar but everywhere you sat, you would be looking out a window. It is all around the windows. One of the window area they had hummingbird feeders hanging, and you could see the hummingbirds haven't their dinner as well. Service was very friendly. I would love to come back and try some other items on their menu..

Sitting at the bar feels oddly enclosed and lifeless. Even with open windows, the atmosphere comes across as closed off and quiet in an uncomfortable way, more empty banquet hall than inviting restaurant. Each time, the place felt dead. Service at the bar was also lacking. The bartender was frequently away talking with servers, leaving us waiting a long time for drinks despite how slow the restaurant was. The food was equally underwhelming. The sides that are often praised, including the twice-baked potato, tasted like frozen, reheated items rather than something freshly made. The meat itself was mediocre and forgettable, with nothing that stood out. We really wanted to like this place and gave it multiple chances, but after three visits, we're genuinely confused by the hype.

I sat at the bar and immediately I was invisible. I sat. And I sat. And I sat some more. A solid 10 minutes or more. At one point I stood up to check what was on a different TV than the one above me. Upon my return, the bartender finally acknowledged my existence and said, "Sorry, I guess I left you hanging". I then ordered a beer, which he poured right away. While I had his attention I ordered my meal. After all, I had plenty of time to look at the menu. Then the 2nd round of invisibility started. I finished my beer and was ready for another. I waited. And I waited. And I waited some more. About an additional 15 minutes. I finally caught the attention of the other bartender and ordered a 2nd beer that was never brought to me. Finally, the first guy came back, so I ordered it from him. As he was bringing it to me, I heard him tell one of the young servers, "Make sure it's medium rare". Wait, what?! That's my burger order! You're just now putting it in? WTF? Invisible indeed! Another 15 minutes went by before my burger and "frings" (fries and onion rings) arrived. I realize that the guy was keeping busy with the walk-up customers, but I was right there! Sitting right in front of him! I finished half of the burger and had a lot of rings and fries leftover and needed a to-go box. Good gawd! More waiting ensued. I finally caught a young woman as she was leaving the kitchen area and asked her for a box which she grabbed for me. Trying to get the bartender's attention for the check ended up being yet another exercise in futility. At least the burger was good (really good in fact), the fries too, the only redeeming quality of my visit. The onion rings? Meh. Straight from a bag of frozen.

The toppings and arrangements are so flavorful and perfectly seasoned. Prices are fair for the location. Service is really great, friendly staff and the ambience is great (by the pool, by the pool bar, under a covered patio). The music is slightly loud though but I will definitely go back and try more! Note that you can enter the restaurant and also enjoy the bar without a pool pass.

Nancy and I dined there on Saturday, June 6. It was, as always, a perfect evening. We both had the new BMG Salad on the menu; fresh, lemon based dressing, light, just enough without being filling. Then we both had the ribeye with mashed, and it was one of the best as a larger, thicker, cooked to perfection pair of steaks. Reed took care of us and was perfct, everyone including the chefs stopped by and were gracious, and it was a welcome back to Nancy in particular which made her weekend. One of the nicest and best places to eat, with the best people you will meet taking care of you. Out of superlatives. Just a great place place with excellent good and new items run by a team which works like a family to take care of you. Cannot imagine a better evening.

The atmosphere strikes that rare balance between relaxed neighborhood charm and thoughtfully curated design. It feels intimate without being cramped, lively without being loud. Whether you're meeting friends for brunch or settling in for a long, unhurried dinner, the space just works. The food is outstanding. Every dish feels intentional--fresh ingredients, bold but balanced flavors, and presentation that elevates the experience without being pretentious. You can taste the quality. The menu manages to be creative while still delivering comfort and approachability. It's the kind of place where you start planning what you'll order next time before you've even finished your plate. Service was equally impressive. Warm, knowledgeable, and attentive without hovering. The staff clearly take pride in what they're serving and genuinely want you to have a great experience. Hidden Meadows is lucky to have a spot like this. The Side Yard isn't just a restaurant--it's a destination. Five stars, easily. I'll absolutely be back.

You can either close out right away or keep your tab open. There's bar seating with TVs and also patio seating available. It has a cute, comfy vibe that was welcoming. We had the Classic burger, Chicken Caesar wrap, and a side of Parmesan garlic fries. Everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked great. We can't wait to come back and try the wings next time. My only complaint is that their burgers, sandwiches, and wraps are $15/$16 and are à la carte. At that price, I think they should come with a side.
