On our first day staying at Pala Casino, I went to the Poolside Cafe & Bar to grab some lunch while Becky was with the bridal party getting ready. I sat at the bar and immediately I was invisible. I sat. And I sat. And I sat some more. A solid 10 minutes or more. At one point I stood up to check what was on a different TV than the one above me. Upon my return, the bartender finally acknowledged my existence and said, "Sorry, I guess I left you hanging". I then ordered a beer, which he poured right away. While I had his attention I ordered my meal. After all, I had plenty of time to look at the menu. Then the 2nd round of invisibility started. I finished my beer and was ready for another. I waited. And I waited. And I waited some more. About an additional 15 minutes. I finally caught the attention of the other bartender and ordered a 2nd beer that was never brought to me. Finally, the first guy came back, so I ordered it from him. As he was bringing it to me, I heard him tell one of the young servers, "Make sure it's medium rare". Wait, what?! That's my burger order! You're just now putting it in? WTF? Invisible indeed! Another 15 minutes went by before my burger and "frings" (fries and onion rings) arrived. I realize that the guy was keeping busy with the walk-up customers, but I was right there! Sitting right in front of him! I finished half of the burger and had a lot of rings and fries leftover and needed a to-go box. Good gawd! More waiting ensued. I finally caught a young woman as she was leaving the kitchen area and asked her for a box which she grabbed for me. Trying to get the bartender's attention for the check ended up being yet another exercise in futility. At least the burger was good (really good in fact), the fries too, the only redeeming quality of my visit. The onion rings? Meh. Straight from a bag of frozen. read more

The pizza is excellent. The Pizzaiolo used to work in a famous Vista based Italian restaurant and it looks like he took his recipes with him ;-) Even though the pizzas are baked in a convection oven, the dough remains the best you can find in the county. The toppings and arrangements are so flavorful and perfectly seasoned. Prices are fair for the location. Service is really great, friendly staff and the ambience is great (by the pool, by the pool bar, under a covered patio). The music is slightly loud though but I will definitely go back and try more! Note that you can enter the restaurant and also enjoy the bar without a pool pass. read more

It's no wonder the pool is always empty. They not only don't let you move umbrellas to your seat but they also do not allow rafts even though there is plenty space. I understand to have that policy if crowded but seriously for a hotel pool not to allow rafts in the heat of the summer is poor management. I am sure they don't even make enough money by the pool to cover maintenance and staff. read more

Wow! Pala has created a wonderful pool area at the cost of several hundred employees who were let go so Pala could build this pool. So first there is no actual swimming pool there are about 8 lounging pools . You can't really swim because the pools are so small but I do like the idea of these lounge pool because if you're in a small group you can have your own little pool. They have several cabana's that cost up to $450 plus champagne. There's a decent size bar but the drinks are a little on the pricey side but hey that's what you get at a casino. read more

Staff was quick and efficient at the bar yet it took a while to be served by the pool attendants. Also no cabanas were available to rent yet were available for comps. 80% were free and as someone with a sun allergy it seemed absurd that we weren't allowed to rent. Not a great experience for our anniversary. More so because accommodation could have been made. read more

We really enjoyed coming to Pala resort and casino. The energy here is serene The view from the rooms on the poolside are amazing. The restaurants onsite serve delicious food. The cave and the steakhouse specifically. The sushi is ok. Big course we are spoiled by big mike. I recommend coming here for a staycation. read more

Breakfast here wasn't very good. It's the best option if you're here and want to eat outside. The setting is fairly nice, food quality is low, and the service was slow. They don't serve butter, only margarine with their toast. Everything was standard diner quality, factory farmed, bland. The potatoes were highly processed frozen. Ordered eggs with cheese and the shredded cheese wasn't even melted. Had an onion bagel with margarine. It was dry and cold. Coffee was okay. My fruit cup was decent, but was obviously not fresh organic or anything special. Hope they get a few things on the menu that would appeal to those guests looking for healthy and nutritious food while sitting pool side. read more

We've eaten here several times and we've yet to have a good experience. The service is always slow and the server always looks like she hates life and we're bothering her. On more than one occasion, we were the only people dining at a table and the servers would look in an opposite direction while they walk past us leaving the bar tender (who's been wonderful every time) to help us. I've even had a late breakfast here with not a single person at the pool, and the bar tender has had to take my order and give silverware because the server was off chatting it up with the towel guy. There have been times we've gotten hungry while at the pool, but rather than eat here, we've gone back to the room, gotten dressed, and eaten somewhere else. We've ordered a few beers while at the pool, but only directly from the bar tender. read more

Had a relaxing quiet day by the pool, one of 8 pools. Might I add these are adult only pools. The pool side service was also top notch, and the bar drinks and appetizers were tasty and plentiful. A great bar with a great selection of hard liquor and nonalcoholic drinks. All soft drinks ,coffee, soda, juices are complementary. The bartender Alex she's very knowledgeable and a great bartender. They do have live music at this bar Friday and Saturday nights .Fun place to hangout and have cocktail. Also good place to watch sporting events they have five Tv's . read more

Bought pool passes here on a late Friday morning and it was fantastic. Hardly any people and we had a fantastic server. Ordered burgers and they were large and delicious. We were impressed. The drinks were also decently priced at $9 for a specialty. Sometimes pool food can be pretty crappy but this was not the case here! read more

Came to spend the day at the pool. We purchased some seltzer drinks from PALA gift shop and brought to pool area. They checked our bags and let us in. We were requested to bring out hydro flasks back to room. After doing so we asked for cups of ice and poured our purchased seltzer water from casino gift shop into cups. The male manager "HASA" came over and said we needed to throw our drinks away and we would be asked to leave if they saw that happen again. I told him the drinks were from their gift shop and had receipt as well. He said "I don't care and if I see you do that again I will kick you out!!" First of all they checked our bags the receipt was with drinks and his rude behavior was horrible. I understand if this was not allowed or we needed to throw away but the way he acted and his rudeness was horrible and to top it off apparently he was the VP of operations for the casino. Anyways long story short I completely understand however his behavior and the way he treated me was really inappropriate. Makes me never want to come here again. Good luck to you all. read more

We really love coming to the pool side Cafe & Bar when we are here at Paula. The food quality is excellent and service is professional. No complaints at all! I had the eggs benedict this morning with avocado instead of Canadian bacon and they were delicious. My boyfriend had a Reuben sandwich he's not a breakfast guy and really enjoyed it no skimping on the corn beef that's for sure! Keep up the good work read more
