I stayed again while retracing steps during my cross country trek. It seems your stay depends upon assigned room. My 2nd visit was still nice, but I couldn't get WiFi in my room at all... had to sit in the lobby to use my computer, which was really inconvenient, given how tired I was after driving from early morning 'til 6pm & they also don't a/c the interior hallways... it was muggy & uncomfortable with too much distraction, so I didn't do much work & only lasted 30-min. My tub also took 20-min to empty out when I took a shower, but that's no big deal... I just let the front desk know to alert maintenance. However, I only stopped here (could have driven 100-mi further, but I had a pleasant 1st visit & assumed the 2nd would be the same) to get a good night's sleep & use WiFi. Because of the latter, I didn't stay a 2nd night, as I'd planned. Still a nice place, lovely employees & a nice, quiet 'hood, despite limited food choices. I was just disappointed that it was $10 higher this time, sans 'net, so I couldn't get any work done. I'd stay again, but I'd ask if I could switch rooms if I couldn't get online & would test it right away before dragging in bags & unpacking... at that point, I'm done. 4* out of 5. read more

I traveled 5 times from the east coast to the west coast and back but have not yet met such an excellent price-quality ratio! For $ 50, a lovely room with breakfast! Everything like in Holliday Inn is only cheaper - I'm surprised and delighted. Very clean and quiet. Thank you, Colorado! read more

After a long day behind the wheel, we decided to stop here for the night as it was conveniently located right off the highway. Young man that checked us in was very kind and provided suggestions for locations still serving dinner as it was late in the evening. We got our room key, it was an actual key by the way...very retro and cool in a way. Parking was plentiful with available parking for larger vehicles and trailers. Got to the room, it looked dated but roomy with some modern conveniences like a small microwave and fridge. Breakfast of coffee/tea, fruit and a mini muffin were offered, those were the Pros, now the Cons... Pulled back the bed covers and found two different types of hairs, neither of which were mine. Bathroom had an empty roll of toilet paper on the spool with no overstock offered nearby and a used bar of soap on the top ledge of the shower. It was too late in the evening to reach out to management and I was dog tired so I slept on top of the bed with a blanket and crashed. Spoke to the manager in the morning and he was very apologetic and appreciated the input and provided me with a roll of toilet paper. I understand that "stuff happens" and you should trust your cleaning crew to perform their tasks properly; however, in this case they clearly did not service this room and especially during this pandemic, it is critical that they remain at the top of their game! read more

We stopped by the Red River inn on our way back to the west coast from visiting family. It was perfect for what we needed. The place was very clean and inviting. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and included a microwave and mini fridge. They had small packets of shampoo/ conditioner as well. They offer a continental breakfast from 6a-9a so it was nice to be able to have some coffee and something to eat before we got back on the road. read more

Keep in mind this rating is comparing to other roadside motels...I am in no way saying this is a four star hotel but as roadside motels go this is very good. Friendly family run, modest breakfast & coffee, clean rooms, fairly comfortable bed, convenient access to / from I-70....it is better than EVERY roadway inn & most motel 6 I've stayed at. I would give it zero if possible! We booked through hotels.com and showed up took a while to check in then proceeded to unload everything to our room only to find they were not adjoining as was reserved. I have a large family so I needed this! The rooms were only next door. Then the air conditioner was not working in one of the rooms we were in. The hotel then wanted to then move one of us to another room further down the hall. The air conditioner didn't work great there either! We finally said we would just rather find a different hotel and the told us they would still have to charge us one night!! This was not our fault the hotel doesn't fulfill the request we had, and the maintenance sucks!! Don't waste your time or money find another hotel!! P.s. Hotels.com did give us a $100 voucher so yay for them!! read more

This hotel is not perfect by any means, but it was the cheapest in the area, had beds and a shower with an ice machine upstairs and that was all we really wanted after a long day of driving and hiking through Utah. The woman behind the counter was very nice. There are smoking rooms, so when I went upstairs for ice it smelled a little bit like a forest fire, but none of the smell transferred to our room. Better than the Super 8 we stayed in outside Zion by a longshot. read more

Can't and won't cancel a reservation. It's a rip off. Talked even with red river inn customer service and that person even yelled at me over the phone, very rude and nasty. Will never book with them again. Silt, Colorado Red River Inn is very unprofessional. read more

The hostess, Catherine, was so helpful and kind. She made us feel right at home. A good place to spend a night for much cheaper than neighboring Glenwood Springs during busy times. Beds were not very comfy, but that is typical for a hotel of this price. read more

The staff was friendly, but the room was not as nice as I had hoped or expected. It was clean enough but just seemed old, bland, spartan. The fridge and microwave were very much appreciated. It felt like we were in the middle of nowhere and it was a little bit of a drive to Glenwood Springs, it took us about 30 minutes to get there for fast food. There isn't much in Silt. Positives: The hotel is modern. The rooms are clean and tastefully decorated. The price is reasonable for an expensive area. The staff is excellent: friendly and helpful. But here come the obligatory negatives: Loud railroad noise. Spotty wi-fi. Silt is a long way from activities in Glenwood Springs and Hanging Lake. Food options are dismal (I was told Miner's Claim is good, but they were not open on a holiday weekend). So you will end up driving back and forth too much. Better to stay closer to Glenwood Springs, if that is your destination, to save time driving. And if you are heading westward, keep going until you get to Rifle because it has palatable dining options. Silt does not even have a grocery store other than gas station mini-marts. read more

BED BUGS I stayed at the hotel Nov 2nd, in room #117. Basic room, nothing fancy. Until I woke up in the morning and started to itch through out the day. That night when I got home, I told my wife to look at my back, it was itching and hurt. She said I was covered with bites on my lower back, hip and butt. Had a few on my arms also. I called the hotel the next day to tell them what had happen. They said they would let the owner know. Sorry for the inconvenience. It has taken over a week for the welts on my back and arm to go down. Really hurt for a couple of days. I got no call back from the hotel to follow up. These welts hurt, not worth savings a few bucks for the night. Learned my lesson. You get what you pay for and then some. read more

I made a reservation at the Red River Inn. I showed up, and realized that I had accidentally made the reservation for the following night. I apologized and asked if they had any rooms available for that night. They did not have any rooms that were available, so I found a different hotel to stay at. That is all fine and well, and is my fault. Before I left, the woman behind the counter said to me "So I take it you won't need that room for tomorrow night?" I said "No, I just needed a room for tonight, so please cancel the reservation for tomorrow." She acknowledged that she would cancel the reservation, and we both kinda laughed making light of my mistake. So at this point one would think the reservation was cancelled, and everything was taken care of. The request to cancel has been stated and confirmed. No indication that I was still going to pay was given. Had it been, I would have stayed in my truck because I couldn't afford paying for two hotel rooms. Next thing I know, it is a week later and I have been charged for the room that I didn't stay at. I contact the hotel, and it is the same woman who I talked to before. She rudely and defensively tells me that I need to call Expedia, and that she had told me that the day I cancelled, which she had not. What happened was she confirmed that she understood I would not be coming the next night, and that was the end of our interaction. So I call Expedia, who then calls the hotel and talks to the same woman. She again says she told me to call Expedia, which she did not. She tells them that she tried to get a hold of me the next day to see if I was coming. Maybe she did. I was up in the mountains hiking pretty much all day, and didn't have service. That is beside the point because why is she even trying to call me? I already told her that I was not coming, and she confirmed she understood. Did she need to hear me say it again for some reason? Who knows. The following night they could have easily rented the room, knowing I was not coming, as there was a festival in Carbondale, and all the hotels in the area were filled to capacity that weekend. They easily could have done the right thing, not charged me, and rented the room to someone else, no harm no foul. Instead they chose greed over doing right by their customers. I for one will never consider staying here again, and will steer people away when I am able, because I refuse to support that type of business practice. read more

Just checked in and let me say for the price point and being probably a 2 star hotel my room is clean, the bathroom is clean, flat screen tv, mini fridge and microwave, some sort of breakfast in the morning is free. Heard a little hanky panky going on across the hall when I unlocked my room but in all fairness it is 11pm on a Friday at a hotel, no different than any other high end hotel. For a late night pull off on your road trip I'd have to say it's better than good. And I saved a fortune by driving on by Eagle. Very nice and friendly lady at the desk I did not catch her name, I'm tired and going to bed. read more

Affordable hotel that super clean and has very friendly staff. The woman behind the counter was very helpful and made sure we were satisfied with our room arrangements. If it were possible to give zero stars, I would. My boyfriend and I needed an early checkin at 8am and late checkout at 5pm with our two dogs. We called around to various hotels explaining the details of our situation and getting quotes for the extra charges for a late checkout. We were told when booking that "it doesn't matter what time you check in/out, if you only stay one night that's all that is charged." I confirmed with the receptionist TWICE during the conversation the times we would check in and out. We were quoted $90 and booked the room. We drove up from Denver (6 hours in awful traffic), arrive to check in and were told that they would not honor the early/late check in and as a "favor" would let us checkout at 1pm WITH additional fees. Uh, Thank you? THEN when we said it's not going to work out if you can't honor what we were told, they tried to charge a cancellation fee!! We had to get it in writing that they would not. To the owner Sofie... you should take a course in customer service. Or take a page out of Silver Spruce's book where we were accommodated beautifully. read more

NO WAY! We booked a room on booking.com the day before we were going to stay there. On booking.com, it clearly stated that we could cancel at any time and that we would not be charged until we were AT the hotel. Unfortunately, we were unable to make our trip, We called the Red River Inn as soon as we could. We were told it was too late to cancel. We let them know that we would not be there and to please cancel. The SAME PERSON THEN CALLS OUR HOME AT 11:00PM THAT NIGHT wondering why our credit card isn't going through!! ARE YOU SERIOUS??? I don't think so! We never gave permission for Red River Inn to take ANY money off of our Credit Card. And it is WRONG for them to try to do so. read more
