Do NOT book this hotel if you're expecting to use the pool or hot tub. They do not work as advertised -- both were ice cold and completely unusable during our stay. We specifically chose this hotel for those amenities, and it was a huge disappointment. Even worse was the service from SARAH , the General Manager. She was incredibly rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional when we brought the issue to her attention. Instead of trying to help or resolve the problem, she spoke to us in a way that was unacceptable for someone in her position. The room was super big. We got the family deluxe suite. Fit us all pretty well. Some things are pretty old school and small tv. Hot tub is beautiful but you won't get hot water to fill it unless you have time to sit and wait for water to heat to add more water. Takes about 40 mins. Shower is the same, super cold showers. Big bathrooms, pretty clean. Just seen alot of pincher bugs. But nothing too bad. Coffee not that great and breakfast just basic stuff. Not the best. You are in walking distance to any and everything you'd need so I loved that! read more

We have stayed at this hotel several times over the years but this time has me questioning if I would ever return. We checked in and they are currently renovating this hotel. Great !!! They have removed all of the laundry facilities did not even mention this because we even bought Tide from the front desk. Finally got settled in our room and the large screen TV is 40 inches. Whatever. But what got me was when trying to go to sleep at 11:00. There is banging on the walls and loud voices in the hallway. No it is not the construction crew. Finally fell asleep at 1/00 am in a bed that had a " sink hole" in the middle. Had to hold onto the sides so that you did roll into the sink whole. By 4:00 am we had has enough. Packed our bags and preceded to the front desk. Explained everything to the person at the front desk. All she said was that she would look into it and walked away. Wow. Husband I stayed here for 1 night and we had a great experience. We got a room with a king size bed. Our room smelled very clean when we walked into it. The room overall was clean, bathroom was clean as well with a nicely lit mirror. We did a bed check and there were no stains or other yucky surprises. The bed was comfortable. The room is very spacious. There is a huge desk if you're on a business trip or needing to do work in your room. There is also a mini fridge and microwave. There is an indoor pool, I didn't use it. There is a gym, got a nice workout before starting my morning. Breakfast is served 6am-9am. They had eggs, sausage patties, toast, cereal, yogurt, and make your own waffles. This hotel is dog friendly. Pet fee is $25 a night. There is ample grass for your pup to do it's business and also a walking trail. My pup and I really appreciated this. Um i paid $179 with booking.com got charged $199 today after checkout. Cable took a crap before the sun was fown but the manager said she'd "take 15% off because there was no TV". There was no food at breakfast. Waffles tasted like dirty socks, orange juice was water with an orange tint, and the eggs well I didn't personally get any because they stopped making breakfast an hour before it was advertised to end but my son said they were disgusting. If you have any other choice, you need to take it. When we pulled up there were two guys arguing loudly in the parking lot, so I should have listened to my inner voice and gone elsewhere. I had written confirmation of Expedia reservation via email, however they had no record of my reservation. Even after showing them the confirmation email, they indicated there was nothing reserved. Luckily they found an open room and honored the price I was given. My sister had booked a King room and requested to change to a double queen or full but they didn't not accommodate her. The door to our tower was broken and required is to walk through the lobby and through the whole property to get to our wing. Our room was next to the elevator but luckily we couldn't hear it. Complimentary breakfast was decent. No complaints there. Our curtain appeared to be blood stained. But the bathroom was very clean. This hotel's staff and management go above and beyond with a genuinely customer-oriented mindset in this well-maintained, newly renovated, and spotless hotel. The rooms and lobby areas are super clean, and the breakfast is always good. The pool area is also very nice. Besides that, the location is also convenient for things to do and see near Rifle and Glenwood Springs. Overall, this is an excellent hotel in a fantastic location; I HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying here. Where do I start....check in I was told I could only enter through main lobby not outside doors...ok safety reasons I guess but I was traveling with my dog who gets anxiety. A quiet door is best. Had a room 2 queens for 4 people, we had 4 towels and only 2 washcloths. My daughter went to the front desk to ask if we could please have a couple have washcloths because there were only 2 and there were 4 of us. She relented and gave me 2 washcloths and 2 thin towels they use for something else. Our room (which I was told was recently renovated) had a broken desk chair and what looked like remaining pieces of a shower door on the tub rail...they since have put up a curtain which was in the bottom of tub.....not sanitary..do they wash it after every guest? My daughters bath towel which is one of the original 4 towels that was in the room was frayed on the end and looked like it should be in the rag pile. I would give this 0 stars if possible! Room was $170.00 for the night and was a dump!! At the desk clerk was rude. read more

I came to Colorado for a conference during the week and my group of friends decided to stay a few extra days to explore other parts of Colorado besides Denver. I'm not too familiar with the area but we were close enough to visit Aspen, Glenwood Springs, and Rifle Falls from this La Quinta. ​ The hotel itself is very homey since a lot of the furniture is wood and has a lot of warm colors. It has all of the amenities you would need: a pool and hot tub, laundry machines, fitness room, etc. Since the weather was really hot during our trip, I enjoyed filling my water bottle with ice at the ice machine and getting water from the dispenser in the breakfast room. The room and bathroom were both really clean and spacious. I have no complaints about the room and liked that their alarm clock had built-in USB ports which were​ convenient for charging. This hotel serves breakfast I believe from 6:30-9:00 AM. They have your standard hotel breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage patties, bread, bagels, make-your-own waffles, cereal, yogurt, etc. It was nice to be able to wake up and for there to be something to eat. Overall my stay at the hotel was pleasant and would return if I was in the area. read more

Overview: This La Quinta Inn & Suites in Rifle, CO is a very pleasant 2.5-star class hotel located right along the I-70 freeway located along a strip of fast food restaurants and a Walmart. Booking on a non-peak day usually means a rate a bit lower than $100 a night (as of June, 2015). Parking is free and the lot is large. Pets stay for free and WiFi is also free! The Amenities: 5/5 Indoor pool (5 feet deep and about 20 feet long) and hot tub (with small and very scratchy towels), self-serve laundry machines (I think around a little less than $2 for washing or drying), wonderful breakfast (consisting of eggs, waffles, cereal, oatmeal, sausage, juice, apples, coffee), and an exercise room with 3-4 machines including an elliptical and a few resistance machines. The Room: 4/5 Smelled strongly of an air freshener likely designed to cover up the smell of a prior smoker. Microwave and small refrigerator with adjustable temperature. Refrigerator on the loud side. Air conditioner is a large window-type and was moderately loud but very reasonable. The king sized bed is very comfortable and is topped with a wide assortment (5+) of pillows ranging from firm to medium. No extra-softs here unfortunately for those of us who like to sleep on their backs but I still slept well. The room is well sound isolated with a very heavy front door and the television comes with a digital guide with a huge assortment of channels. There is a large leather (leatherette?) arm chair in the corner but no couch. The Bathroom: 4/5 Only one soap bar between the shower and hand-washing area with no soap tray. Combination shampoo/conditioner. Decent water pressure and beautiful tiled floors and shower. Large vanity with plenty of space for toiletries. The Service: N/A. We did not order room service but the front desk staff was pleasant. The Location: 4/5. With a nearby Subway, Arby's, Walmart, and some Mexican restaurants, you will find affordable and tasty meals. The Rifle Falls Park is about a 30 minute drive to the north (15-20 miles) with scenic views and plenty of trails. LOTS of bugs in the early summer so bring bug spray. Conclusions: This La Quinta Inn & Suites is a 3-star class hotel that is well priced and very comfortable. I used it on a move from North Carolina to California and would 100% book it again. I have no real complaints except for the smell of the room, and I really can't blame them for inconsiderate guests smoking in rooms where they shouldn't. read more

I came into Rifle after fighting Memorial Day Friday traffic through Denver and a 40-minute ordeal of a traffic stop (short story: out of state rental plate + not comfortable with the way the car drives = they think I'm smuggling drugs). So I wasn't about to shop around. La Quinta was under $100 with tax, clean, friendly desk associate, the room was fine. That's all I needed. Pros: Free wifi, indoor pool, very quiet sleep. Cons: Your usual crappy free breakfast (wake up by 7 or lose out on anything fresh), probably not as cheap as other motels in town. I wasn't in the mood to find out. If you're coming through with a family, I'd definitely say just stay here. Don't pay Hampton prices and don't test your luck with the other hotels and motels. If you're alone like me, probably worthwhile to take a look around town before committing. I'm hedging my bets with a 4 star review mostly on that basis. read more

Air Conditioner does not work, called front desk they send a front desk person up to tell me its fine. No air coming out of unit but compressor is running. Manager calls and says open the window, had to argue for a very small discount. Not happy that they would not have an actual repair man look at it and see if it could be repaired. Hotel is loud with other guest, no sleep the first night due to kids and pets running around till 3am upstairs. Hotel was dirty. I have dogs and no one cleaned up after their pets outside. We called ahead to ask if our family could join us for a swim as we were visiting from out of town - they assured us that this would be fine - when my siblings entered the lobby they were treated rudely and were spoken too as if the front desk was suspicious of them - the white guest ahead of us was treated kindly and she was more than accommodating with restaurant suggestions and kind compliments - my younger siblings were interrogated about trying to enter the pool are and then they were quickly dismissed - my 14 year old baby brother was nervous being questioned and couldn't remember our room number - when we finally made it down to the lobby we requested to speak with a supervisor and we were told that there was none available - the girl did assure us that if there was a robbery or fire that she would be able to email the manger but there was no leadership available and she was not trained to accommodate our request. Nice place...We arrived during a rain storm having already booked via the internet, check in was easy. The desk staff was very helpful and good at their job. We were in the room in 10 minutes, The roon itself was a well maintained and very comfortable. We enjoyed the area with many options for dinner and fuel stop. My husband & I frequent LQ when traveling with our two Boston's. LQ welcome dogs with no questions asked and no additional fee pretty much anywhere in the country. This is our second time here @ LQ Rifle. We love short road trips through the mountains and then park it for the evening for a good nights rest and a decent continental breakfast.. We love the micro and fridge in our room for our traveling snacks and the bathroom is always been clean with clean smelling towels and bed linens. We usually sleep pretty soundly and comfortably. Like any multi story hotel the upstairs and hallways can be a bit thumping as passerby/children running do not pay attention to their noise level, but that's not a LQ issue. Pool was inviting, but we did not use it. Check in was quick, pleasant and always helpful and friendly. We will be back! read more

We called about 11pm for a room for 7 people for the evening, were told we could be accommodated and the fee would be $116. At that price and time of the night we said we would be there in 1/2 hour. When we arrived we were told that we could not get a room for that rate. I was very disappointed. We had been traveling with 4 children, we were very tired, and it was to late to look for another hotel. The desk clerk was very courteous and explained why the rate could not be honored. We chose to stay with plans on speaking to management in the morning. The room was very spacious, however, the pull out sofa was to uncomfortable to sleep on. The complimentary breakfast was average. The manager was unavailable in the morning so I chose to contact him at a later time. When I did get to speak with him I heard the same explanation as the desk clerk gave me. Bottom line, I was not asking for a free room, I only wanted the price we were quoted the evening before. After all we told the clerk who quoted the price we had 7 people. Old, dated furniture but clean. Some wear and tear in the shower and could use some new shower heads. All that is fine for me but I'm in between two rooms, one playing Smokey and the Bandit and one playing what seems like Phantom of the Opera? Lots of mixed singing and car noise and I can hear it all. I won't be getting much sleep tonight. Took three tries to get key cards that worked but it seemed to be a simple error. This hotel is very rundown. The rooms are dated and very worn. The showers were so molded that they were slimy, don't touch the sides if you can help it. The breakfast selection was pitiful and largely inedible. The saving grave was the Starbucks down the street. The staff was nice but that was the only good thing about this place. I loved staying at La Quinta in Rifle, CO. Right off of 70, easy to find at night with rooms available without prior reservation. The lobby was beautifully decorated and cozy and the room was very large and clean. I was so happy to see a fridge and microwave - very useful for two vegans traveling from San Diego to Ohio. This was the only hotel we stayed in that had a fridge (others being Hampton, Holiday Inn Express, and Baymont). We enjoyed the workout room and breakfast the next morning. The staff was all extremely friendly and helpful. I only wish the pool was open later! Closed at 10 which was about the time we pulled in. Definitely a good value and enjoyable experience. read more

Wow this place was great! I've never been this enthusiastic about a hotel before! They called and text to let us know when our room was ready which was at least four hours before normal check-in time. Upon arrival, The friendliest front desk employee said management had upgraded our room for free for two nights. The room itself was very comfortable and spacious with great views of the mountains with fireplace. We had a fireplace and a Jacuzzi tub which made our stay very romantic. The breakfast was outstanding both mornings because they switch off their breakfast meat from bacon to sausage so you never have to eat the same thing twice in a row. They charged our room a small fee when a non-guest joined us for breakfast. They have a wonderful Jacuzzi with a surprisingly warm pool and a quaint little outside smoking patio with tables and chairs where you can enjoy Mountain View's. We stayed for one night and didn't have any heat. We expected that the hotel would give us some kind of a discount. It's been almost a month since our stay, it was mid-March, the manager hasn't returned our call after two times attempting to contact him. We'll see if he calls again.
