Been wanting to get here for years when I first checked it out years ago as a possible overnight parking spot as part of Harvest Hosts for the RV. Well, it finally happened on a return trip from NC. Parked the RV and went in for a half rack of ribs (they were out of brisket) and slaw, baked beans, and german potato salad. Great meal with coca-cola and root beer. Saturday night music by a guy and a gal singing with a guitar, really nice ambiance, country setting and a cool evening night. There was a wedding group at the barn. Wife and I ordered the 4 meat sampler (2 pulled pork, ribs, and brisket) with 3 sides of German potato salad, baked beans, and scalloped potatoes. Some of the best BBQ I have ever had. My niece ordered a bunch of meats and salads from Red Rock the first night we arrived. We are sure glad they did. If you are in the area, I recommend stopping at Red Rock BBQ. We found this place while driving along 81. The environment is friendly with a small town feel. The staff make you feel welcomed and tell you about their restaurant. Ordering is a breeze as you walk up to a small counter for food. Beer and Wine is available; however, we learned this is operated by another owner on the other side of the dining room. We both had the beef brisket sandwich platter. The meat was cooked to perfection. The platter came with two sides and cornbread. While the sides were good, I would recommend that the cornbread be heated (personal preference). In addition, there are several types of bbq sauce to choose from. The portions were generous and the prices were much lower than expected. Overall, I would recommend this place. Came here last night with some friends before a haunted house and loved EVERYTHING about it. We all ordered something different and were all impressed. I ordered the brisket slider and it was incredible the beans on the side were perfect! They had a brewery inside which was an added bonus although we didn't have any of the beers we did try the creamsicle slushee which had alcohol and was quite tasty. Alright so, I first came here after reversing hard down the road because I saw a sign for my favorite brewery (2 Dogz and a Guy) and had to make sure my eyes weren't playing cruel tricks. The place is really cute too, very country. Apparently they teamed up with the aforementioned brewery because it was good for both businesses, and I have to agree. Every time I come here I want to leave with a growler and a small mountain of amazing food to have all of my friends try (if I don't eat it first - things get dicey on the 30min ride home). Five stars, will definitely come again. And again. A lot. Edit: this place is DOG FRIENDLY! Really dog friendly. My big Rottweiler mix knows the building and gets absolutely silly with excitement to go inside. The bar has treats, and she knows it. Bring your friendly pooch and be greeted with smiles and cooing. Also, there's a patio out back, which my kids love, because they get to run around like lunatics before and after eating. They just updated the bathroom, which is an interesting setup: it's a unisex bathroom with two stalls. The stalls are basically tiny rooms, with real doors. Best fried chicken period. Crispy skin with juicy meat, and all are made fresh so expect a 15 mins wait. It is a family run business so they are ultra friendly and accommodating. We had our 3 year old and golden retriever and sat outside with a hill view (added tractor for extra countryside feel). One of the best barbecue I've had in my life. We came here as a pit stop on our road trip from Buffalo fo NYC and it was the most amazing decision we made. Brewery there I've been told is good too, I don't drink though so I can't say. Yum! What a delicious find. Take the quick trip from Binghamton to this place and you'll be happy you did. Still need to go back and try all the menu items but the brisket is top notch. It had a great smokey flavor and good texture. I've never had Alabama white sauce before but really enjoyed it! For sides I got collards and grits which were both very good, but felt the greens needed a slight hit of sweetness or acid to balance out the bitterness of greens a little bit more. The grits had very good flavor but could've used a bit looser texture. Cornbread was good too but could've been a touch moister. I didn't try the ribs, slaw or beans but my boyfriend said they were top notch. The price point is great, better than other Binghamton options. I can't wait to go back and try the chicken and pulled pork. So if you're looking for really great barbecue definitely make the trip! Their house made sauces were all delicious and nicely complimented with some of other sauce options from Sweet Baby Rays. The beers were well done and it was enjoyable to try something outside of the standard craft brewery line up (aka Murder Hornet Smoked Jalapeño beer). When you talk about BBQ in the area, there's only 1 name, Red Rock. This place is the real deal. They smoke their own meats, make their own marinades, sauces and sides. The brisket is to die for but my favorite is the corn bread, just the right amount of sweet and spice to make you crave more. From the chicken wings to the pulled pork, you can't go wrong. Being from Alabama, I am pretty skeptical about finding good BBQ north of the Mason Dixon line. This place is a diamond in the rough! We all ordered pulled pork sandwiches and between us had the Mac n cheese, coleslaw, baked beans and scalloped potatoes. It was all delish! I even tried the Alabama white sauce and was not disappointed. The portions are generous. The service is fast and friendly. We also decided to indulge in some of Manning's ice cream, which was also a huge hit. The almond joy was legit coconut ice cream with small pieces of almond and chocolate. I don't give out 5 stars too often, and sometimes I can be a little hard on places, especially BBQ places since I know so much about it, but I gotta say, while this place wasn't 100% perfect (no place is), this is absolutely the best BBQ I've had in northeast PA, and it's even better than most places in Binghamton. I've had most BBQ places within an hour or so of this place, I've been to Kundla's in Hamlin, Barry's in Pittston, the Waymart hotel, Buckwheat's BBQ in Nicholson, and I've been to a few places in Wilkes Barre, and Red Rock has them all beat, it's not even close! I will say that Bad Dog BBQ in New Milford is pretty good though, but this is better. Brisket- the brisket sandwich I had here was amazing! It had a nice smoke ring and the right amount of smoke flavor, the smoke was prominent but not overpowering, and it didn't have a dirty smoke flavor, they definitely had a clean burning fire. You could tell that they put a lot of care into their food, they cook fresh meat for hours over a wood fire, they don't buy pre-cooked meat and finish it on a grill like some places I've been to. The brisket was moist too, and very tender, but not falling apart tender, the texture was perfect, I'd have to say this is definitely in my top 5 briskets that I've had. The price was good too, $8 for the sandwich by itself, and I think $12 for the meal with 2 sides and cornbread. I've been to another place in Binghamton before that charged $20 for a brisket meal, and the meat was dried out and they even forgot to give me one of my sides! Ribs- the ribs here were pretty good, they were very meaty but they were a little too tender, the meat isn't supposed to literally fall off the bone, that's a sign that they're overdone, but still, the meat was plenty moist. The smoke flavor was pretty heavy on these too, I didn't get a picture of the smoke ring but it was definitely there, and there was a pretty good bark on the meat too. The price was pretty average, maybe a dollar or two more than some places, but most places only give you 2 sides where as Red Rock gave out 3 sides, and the ribs were very meaty, they gave me 6 bones in the half rack meal and the total was $17 for the meal. There's one place in Binghamton that only gives you 3 or 4 bones worth of meat plus 2 sides for about the same price! sauce and sides- I only had the traditional red sauce, but they also offer a vinegar sauce, an alabama white sauce, and a sriracha mayo. The red sauce was very good, it was sweet and very tangy, nothing like those dark heavy store bought sauces with fake smoke flavor. while I do like it, it's better in small doses, sauces are supposed to compliment good tasting meat, not hide the flavor the meat gets from hours of smoke, and the sauce here does compliment the meat very well. The coleslaw was decent, not my favorite but it was good, it wasn't as sweet as most places and I think it had a hint of a kick to it. The potato salad was pretty good too, it had a little kick from the vinegar in it, I would definitely get it again. My favorite side was probably the cheesy grits, it was a very good alternative to mac n cheese. The grits were fluffy but maybe they could have been creamier. The cheese flavor on it was pretty good, it was a simple dish but I liked it, and the small dash of hot sauce on top of it was the perfect addition to give it some edge. The cornbread here was probably my least favorite part of the meal, but come on, if cornbread's the star of the show at a restaurant they're probably doing something wrong. The cornbread had a decent flavor but it could have been a little more moist. The people here are pretty nice from what I've experienced, and this place isn't too far out of the way, it's only about a minute or two from the highway. If you're looking for real authentic bbq cooked with care from scratch, this is the place for you! read more

Now let me tell you about the ice cream... they get their ice cream from a small dairy named "Manning's" it is the absolute best ice cream I've ever had. Anywhere else I go, they usually sell Perry's or Hershey ice cream. This place has Manning's ice cream which you are unable to get very many places. I would recommend this place to anyone.
