Stopped in while staying nearby. Not sure how former reviewers found it a great place to get groceries. I found it fine for a sandwich, chips and a few soda/energy drink choices. This is a small store located just down from the Red Rock Scoop and quite near Ricketts Glen State Park, making it a handy place to get any basics if you're staying in the area or visiting the park. It's a little convenience store that has basic goods, like bread, milk, eggs, paper towels, chips/snacks, and the like. They also have a deli area where they make hoagies to order. Red Rock Corner Store has become a must stop before hiking at nearby Ricketts Glen State Park for a hoagie. Orders are placed at the counter and then made behind the counter in the deli area, the two times I have ordered roast beef, the roast beef was sliced to order which was great and very welcome. The small hoagie's size is akin to a large sub shops footlong and is filled to the brim with meat, cheese and toppings. The average wait time for a hoagie depending on orders is around ten minutes. The store also has chips, cold soda, candy and everything else a c- store would normally carry. My go to order is a small roast beef with Cooper Sharp, Mayo, Pickle, Jalapeno, Lettuce, and tomato. This general store is a welcomed oasis in the area of Ricketts Glen State Park containing a selection of grocery items and sundries such as cold diet coke, trail mix, and newspapers. We stopped here for sandwiches (made-to-order) for our hike of the waterfalls in the park. They were made on the spot by one friendly and efficient host who served not only as chief sandwich maker but cashier for the store, as well. The hoagie (sub) comes in 8 or 16 inches and all the usual options are available for inclusion. We came back the next day for pre-packaged breakfast items and received the same top-notch friendly service. read more

Red Rock used to have the best hoagies. The past year I have gotten their hoagies twice. Both times the bread fell apart it was so soggy. I held the bread and it rang out it was that soggy. The most recent time I got hoagies from Red Rock, I pulled them out of the bag and the dressing poured everywhere and leaked through the bag as well. At 17$ a hoagie this is unacceptable. It used to be my favorite hoagie place. I hope they make a turn around soon. read more

Wood Floors, Friendly Staff and all the things you need to have a great day at the park. The store offers a lot of camping supplies as well as Soda, Snacks, Ice Cream and Homemade Subs. Wow! I stopped on my trek to Sullivan county, hearing that they had a good hoagie (grinder, submarine, or any other name for a big sandwich). I was not disappointed! Made to order while you wait, a whole Sub is about 16 inches long, loaded with whatever you want. They did not skimp on any ingredients. The lettuce, tomatoes, and onion were fresh and the meats and cheese delicious. Will stop again when I am really hungry! read more

Red Rock Corner Store is the closest convenience store (and clean bathroom) to Ricketts Glen State Park. If you are going to check in to Ricketts Glen State Park on FourSquare, Facebook or Yelp do it from the parking lot of Red Rocks. The store is located across the street from the entrance of the Park and it's a 3 mile trip back from the intersection with 118 to the Park's parking lot. I assure you that you *WILL NOT* have cell service on the trails. If you want to let others know where you are, do it before you enter the Park. Red Rock Corner Store has great hoagies; the meat is sliced to order. They are offered in 8" and 16". Plenty of meat & cheese in the hoagie and a good selection of "fixins". My wife and I got a 16" to share, but ended up splitting half of it for lunch the day we were at the store and the other half the next day for lunch (I had a cooler in the car filled with drinks from home which kept the other half of the hoagie cold). Red Rock Corner Store really is as good as it gets. I was surprised by the reasonable prices, the selection of foods and helpful camping items. I needed a part for a camp stove. Though they did not carry the part, "Pap" was summoned to offer help. And help he did! With kindness he suggested nearby businesses that may have part, but in the end he offered his own person equipment on loan! Who does that kind of selfless act of kindness these days??! Apparently "Pap"! Before heading home we ordered two full sized hoagies. The Turkey was fresher than any I have previously tasted. Again, who would think a little store like that would have such quality??! All the folks I interacted with there were very personable. After a long day of hiking in Ricketts Glen state park you might be in need of a recharge. Just a short drive from the park this is the spot. We stopped in after a quick arduous hike famished. We showed up just as they were stopping making sandwiches at 730. I was told no problem, and she made us two ham and salami hoagies we ordered. They were fantastic. The meat is sliced fresh when your sandwich is made. I worked in a deli/pizzeria all through college and am a bit of a snob when it comes to sandwiches. We actually found this by accident. We needed to check in for our flight 24 hours in advance and this location has 4G reception on Verizon. Nothing in the area showed up in yelp for restaurants but this should be added so more people can enjoy these wonderful sandwiches. read more

I have stopped here several times for sandwiches before hiking Ricketts Glen Trail. The people are friendly and the sandwiches are great. Huge! They are perfect for the halfway break along the trail, when you are out hiking all day. And they are extremely convenient. NO ONE MAKES hoagies even close to these in the area. Hoagie and sub makers should follow what they make. A small corner country store is making money with their subs otherwise they would not be making them stuffed as they are.
