I have been getting my nails done by Jeannie for over 20 years and she never disappoints. When my hairstylist retired, she recommended Joanne who has been doing a wonderful job with my frizzy hair. The salon is always friendly and welcoming. Altogether an enjoyable experience each time. read more

I didn't have the best experience at Red Sails Salon. I visited with my in laws to get our hair and makeup done for my in laws' wedding (which took place on LBI that day). It was a super duper rainy day (in fact, it was flooding on the island), so I did appreciate that they gave us caps to wear as we ran outside to the car in the rain after we got our hair and makeup done. I was not a fan of their hair and makeup style. I didn't feel like they did a great job. One of my SILs also had the same complaint. My issue was that they made my curls way too tight and they just came out looking odd. I also didn't like the makeup - I asked specifically for a smoky eye, but I ended up getting what looked like a smudgy eye with makeup that was not dark enough. I felt like my face looked glossy and strange all night. Another thing I did not appreciate was that the hair stylist kept talking about politics the entire time. I normally would not mind this, as I am interested in politics, but she was firmly opposed to my beliefs, and it was just awkward. I normally love discussing politics, but maybe when someone is working on my hair, it isn't the best time. Overall, I was not impressed with Red Sails Salon. I doubt I would return. read more

I got married this past weekend in LBI. Unfortunately I did not have a good experience at red sails salon. My bridal party and I went to the salon for mani/pedis. I made the reservation under my name for all the girls. I mention this because after our services they refused to split our services up because it was under one reservation!! My one bridesmaid was kind enough to put all 7 of our services on her credit card which was extremely expensive. The service themselves were not good. I asked for a French manicure and it was so sloppy, all of the lines were different sizes. They also got very upset when two of us wanted to get gel instead of a regular manicures because we didn't specify that in our reservation ! The one pedicure chair was broke... The person I originally called who I believe was the owner was so sweet but she was not there the day of our services. She said she was going to set us up and told us to bring champagne and snacks. Yet, when we arrived they were not ready for us, did not have anywhere for us to sit or put our snacks or drinks. We had to wait an extra 15 min before our services started. They also took another person in front of members in my group. We were bringing in a significant amount of business to their salon and we did not feel like we were treated with any respect, especially from the woman at the front desk who was extremely rude. I wish the owner was there because I feel that the day would have went significantly better based off of my original conversation with her on the phone when I booked our services. The one manicurist was very kind and tried making our day special but I remember her name. She also worked for the florist who was doing my wedding. She was great. And she is the reason I am giving the salon 2 stars instead of 1. read more

Very clean and friendly. My teenage daughters had their hair cut and styled by JoAnn. She did a great job. She listened to what they were looking to have done with their hair (cuz for girls and teenagers, hair is everything) and JoAnn nailed it! Definitely will be back! read more

This salon is a nice place to sit down and relax for a bit while you are pampered. The salonis roomy, plenty of reading materials, friendly staff and great location to one stop shop on the island for your needs. The owners are very nice, and will be huge help to you during a wedding if you need some products or a professional to come to the house and get your prepared for your big day. This was an uneven experience for me. On the one hand my daughter got a wonderful and very professional pedicure that was perfect. My manicure experience was not as perfect. First, the gel polish I had on my nails needed removal. The manicurist did a sloppy job of filing so many nails were uneven. I didn't realize it until later when I noticed traces of gel polish remained under the new polish which was pale. When i called they immediately agreed to redo the polish. Now two days later the new polish is chipping and i suspect it may be old polish or diluted. While the manicures here are inexpensive I pay the same in my hometown for excellent service. Perhaps it was the manicurist or lack of supervision. But there are many places to go on LBI that are superior read more

She called within 48 hours to inform us that she was not happy with the result. We had her come back for correction. We provided one of our senior stylists to accommodate her request to make the color as she wanted it to look. We accomplished that goal. She left happy, and then we see this review. Our records indicate that Cassie paid $170.00 for three services on her first visit :foils, hair cut and blow dry, and was not charged for the correction she requested on the second visit. I was on vacation on LBI and was attending a wedding while I was on vacation. Although I wasn't familiar with Red Sails but I need some self-care desparately. I stopped in to make an appointment earlier in the week and arrived on Friday for a mani, pedi, cut and a streak of color. From the time I made the appointment until Marie turned off the blow dryer, I was struck by how friendly and attentive all the staff members were about making sure I had a good experience and was happy with my outcome. There is such a nice, chill environment about Red Sails. Conversations flow easily between staff and clients. I left with sea blue nails and a purple streak in my grey hair and had such a nice experience. I highly recommend! read more

They are wonderful! And, my stylist saved me (my hair, that is). I had gotten a bad cut at another salon just a few days earlier and was miserable. Found Red Sails Salon on Yelp. The first thing I was happy about was the day I wanted to have my roots colored they were totally booked which says others are liking this shop. I come from Central Jersey just bought a home on Long Beach Island so I plan on spending a lot of time here. I now need a back up Salon to go to. Marci was the person I was given an appointment with. She did an excellent job, I didn't know my formula and she matched my color beautifully as good as my hair stylish in Monroe Township who I have been using for years. read more

Stylists at Red Sails cut and color my hair and they always do an excellent job. My highlights looks so natural that no one believes they come from a salon. I also get facials regularly and she consistently treats my skin to a luxurious experience. In addition to the high quality treatments, the staff are always warm and friendly. NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO BACK!!! I have gotten many of bikini waxes before, but this experience was really something unreasonable. Discomfort is something to be expected and some redness. I got waxed not even 30 minutes ago and I am purple with bruises! And I mean this is a dark purple bruise. I am at the beach, I didn't want pubes sticking out on the beach but these bruises might be even more embarrassing. Now as I sit with a bag of frozen peas between my legs to try to prevent more bruising and inflammation I CANNOT get through on their phone line. I will not leave a message on their answering machine about this, I want to talk to someone right away. I really expected good things to come from this salon as it appears clean and the employees have their certificates displayed on the wall right when you walk in. I am utterly appalled about the results. NEVER GO HERE! Not to mention the woman waxed to her preference and not mine. I would've preferred to walk out with less hair but at this moment I am glad I didn't because that would've meant many more bruises. read more
