Came in for color correction. I got the best color I've had in years. Also got a quick trim on bangs that really made my growing out process of these look great. Follow up appt made and super happy. Just had my first appointment with Mercede today. She did a beautiful job with a new style for me and was honest and knowledgeable about what would work the best. She was right. After being quoted $100 per row from the so called "professional K-tip installer"Angelena , at the register she has the other hair stylist who stayed later (because she was her ride home ) to ring me up with a grand total of $1200! Just for installation of hair I already purchased. Mind you I had asked if she could wash my hair prior (because you need freshly clean hair for the process) she stated she didn't have enough time, so I left work early to go home and do the prep for my hair. She then told me I had 8 rows and it was $160 a row! The wild part about that was I don't even have rows, the extensions were installed sporadically through my hair& she even made the comment of how she loved that you can just place KTips through your the hair without having to keep the same placement. I ended up paying $800 plus 20% tip, because at the end of the day you can't say I didn't hold my end of the agreement. After only (2) days my extensions started sliding off (7), I also waited 5 days to wash my hair and used a wet brush and the Z formation when I actually did wash it. I will note I have ethnic hair -it's not pin straight or thin.In fact my extensions are wavy Bellami Ktips, and I've worn extensions for 23yrs.By day (3) 12 came out. by day (7) 22 extensions were out. Also for someone who is supposedLu a professional installer, while Angelena was installing my extensions she had them matted up in a ball on her tray. They were not neatly placed out, she was applying the heating tool to the extension then placing the ktip on my hair& then applying the heating tool back on it. That is an incorrect way of installing ktips. About 6 extensions were ruined because of that way she was doing it. by the time she would do cold press it would not stick to my hair. Globs of glue were left in my hair causing my hair to matte like in the last picture. It's not even 2wks and I have 47 extensions out. Also I had to ask to have my hair styled after they were glued into my hair. And she agreed for pics she took that I specifically asked to have them sent to me and I never received them. I called on the 3rd day and asked to have them fixed. They asked me to come in an hr later but at this point it was wedding week and I couldn't make it and I was afraid she would mess my hair up more , so I asked for my hubby to come in and pick up the rest of my hair that I left. I then called and asked to speak to the owner and the owners niece at the desk stated " she couldn't give out the owners name and that someone would contact me in regards to my complaint. I'm pretty sure I remember the girls saying the owners name was Jessica- And Instead of an honest call back, I received a notification that my future hair appointment in Aug with my Colorist Mercede was cancelled. I have not received any phone calls a week later or any form of apology for this kind of unprofessional service. I could have bought the $25 hair tool from amazon and had my 17yr old daughter provide the same service for me for half the price, half the headache and insult. As someone who was once a part of the makeup and hair industry for many yrs, I am embarrassed for the owner of this company. The lack of professionalism she is allowing her employees to portray is no wonder why this business is ranked so low. I wish I would have read the reviews prior to coming here. I only chose this place because I live in this town and was tired of driving to Seattle for professional services. I regret that choice and will only ever get my hair done by real professionals in Seattle. I will add the young woman Jaylen had enough common sense and experience to offer her help to her and shook the extensions out and tried to help assist her. She is the only one worth getting service from and doesn't need to be asked or told to do something a stylist should be doing. read more

I made an appointment a wk in advance when I arrived excited for my new hair I was told although the appointment was in fact made for the service I was asking for the stylist did not have time and I would need to reschedule. Well, what a phone call! I called a few days ago and left a message about getting my hair done. I understand with the holidays everyone is busy and maybe they wouldn't get back to me promptly. But no call back at all. So I called them back because one hair dresser in particular looks to do great work from the photos I saw on FB and reviews on google. Well the receptionist is extremely rude, was not helpful at all. As I was asking about prices all she said was "it varies" OK, but on their website it clearly states different prices for certain things and I asked if it was up to date , all she could say was "I know nothing about that" So, you are the receptionist and don't know anything about the website for the salon you work at? And she wanted me to send pictures of my hair via text so that that they could get an idea of what the price will be? Literally, all I asked for was the price for a Full highlight. Pretty standard across the board... any hair stylist/colorist will have a standard price for that. I'm not new to this at all just newer to this area... Also, to ask me to text them pics of my hair and what I want it to look like? I mean I literally just told them... Full highlight. Eh, thanks but no. Get with it Red Salon get rid of your receptionist and do better.... This sucks because I love Aveda products and I love Anacortes; what a shame they have such terrible customer service skills and lack of care for potential clients! Went in the day before my appointment to let the front desk know that I wanted a special occasion blow out so a little extra and that my hair is thick and long. She looked at me and nodded her head like she understood. Basically she needed to add more time to my appointment and I would pay extra. Then I went in today and Astrid barely washed my hair and then at the end said "in future reference these curls are not a part of a blow out" but in every other blowout I have ever gotten (30 in the past couple years) the stylist was able to blow dry my hair with a barrel brush and create curls. She does not know what she is doing and if you are the only stylist on a Saturday with two weddings in town you should know what you are doing. read more

Although the stylist was sweet and I was seen promptly on a short notice, my experience was kind of crappy. I paid over $200 (with product purchase too), and honestly got sub par coloring and blowout. Upon driving home from the salon I realized the bottom back of my head had dried color still... that wasn't washed out. So I had to speed home and hope it didn't turn it darker than the rest of my head (which it did). Additionally, my "blowout" was horrendous. I know I have thick hair but it was so shitty. Literally everything down from my ears was wet, while the top was frizzy and dry. It's been about 6+ weeks since my appointment and the color has totally washed out and I probably won't be coming back here to get it redone. If you are charging me over $100 for an all over color... at least wash my hair thoroughly and give me a proper blowout. read more

Extremely disappointed!!! I wanted my red to look natural and it turned out horribly!!!!!! I didn't get a chance to really look it over cause I was so focused on my flight in a few days. I was leaving for my sisters wedding and was stuck dealing with the mess!! It was literally fire engine red and the color wasn't even spread throughout my entire scalp. There was more color in the front and my original color I came in with, still in the back and underneath!! Since I was one of the bridesmaids, I couldn't have my hair looking as awful as it did, so I ended up having to pay another salon in Arizona to fix it!!!!! After paying way too much the first time and having to pay a ton more, it finally looks better then it did. Sorry to say, but I will have to find another salon the next time I need my hair done. Great place and right in downtown Anacortes! I was a walk-in and first visit to this cute hip and trendy salon. It's all about the Aveda products here! Kammie Wommack serviced my color, foils and cut. I trusted her and did she give me a fabulous color with foils! I'm a brunette and she gave me lovely Carmel colored foils. Hair cut was just ok. The cost was a bit high for small amount done for my style. It is usually pretty busy there and location is perfect for walk in but never availability for walk ins. I took my daughter and myself to get a haircut there. Jessica did my haircut and was very sloppy and she was more concern about talking about herself. The girl that cut my daughters hair, actually gave up and left my daughter crying because she had some knots in her hair and she could not detangled her hair. I had to drive my daughter to Bella hair salon to get her a haircut, somehow they were able to wash her hair and give her a haircut! We don't go here anymore and don't recommend it. read more

Every time I look at the back of my head It makes me want to to cry. I tried to go in to get an inverted bob, something I've tried to do many times before and In my history I've liked it once. Every time sense I have tried to dictate the haircutting experience to reproduce what I've liked, but this last time when I wasn't happy I just went in and decided to trust the girl to do her thing..and I sorely sorely regret it. I look at the one layer that's waaaaaaraaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy shorter than the rest, lift it up with my hands in disgust, and wonder who the heck would ever think at shelve of hair flipping in the direction of my scalp would be a good idea. Followed by, another layer flipping in the direction of my scalp. Which is absolutely distinguishable from the longest layer just doing it's own thing on the very bottom. The back of my hair looks like a row of shelves and feels so awkward, and flat at an angle, and round in a way that I hate. I can almost not even put it into a pony tale to wait it out because the dreadful short layer she cut won't even fit. Just sensing the hair cut on my head feels gross and almost numbingly awkward to me. It just doesn't feel right. I hate it. Even my friend said it didn't look good on me. I honestly look like a clown in the mirror and it makes me want to cry. She said to play around with it for 2 weeks and come back if I don't like it, well this isn't going to be fixable for a while lady. I haven't felt this bad about my appearance in a while. It's stressful. I have to say, at first I liked the front portion, until she showed me the mirror into what she had done to the back. I just need to try to not think about it and try to stay positive when putting this mess into a pony tale every day. I've had bad haircuts when trying to get this style before, but nothing that's going to take this long to fix, nothing this much of a question mark to me. This is why I dictate my experiences at hair stylists, they just seem obsessed with layers and doing non simplistic styles. I will be taking steps to grow this out as fast as I can so I don't have to almost cry whilst looking at the back of my head anymore. read more
