They have the nicest people! So friendly and accommodating. The RV Resort & the shuttle, they are so friendly! Love the large sites.

No longer allowed to use Dream Pool, wanted a hotel room completely booked. No reason to go to this RV resort anymore.

Our "Chalet" was dirty and smelly. The bedroom smelled like a sweaty locker room the entire trip. Above the shower in the bathroom was dusty and dirty. The sink taps in the bathroom had beard hairs stuck in the tops. The guest who slept in the pullout couch experienced bugs crawling over them while they were sleeping. This is the dirtiest place I have ever laid my head down in. read more

Love this place! the ladies at the lodge are super friendly and helpful. the chalet is clean and roomy with a nice porch and picnic table- super relaxing and quiet environment. The lodge's pool is so nice with a beautiful view of the pond. Will definitely stay again read more

We stayed here for a gambling trip. The cool thing is you call for a ride to the casino and they come pick you up at your door like a taxi. If you want luxury don't stay here. However they are mostly clean and contained for a weekend stay. If your going gambling you can bring sandwich or breakfast stuff to cook or make a snack -full size fridge and stove. The bed is a double and bring your own blankets and pillows. The air-condition is working real well. I woke way too early because there are no black out curtains and the sun brightly shining in my eyes-The bed makes racket when you move around. Love having the additional living area. I would stay again if coming to gamble at the casino. read more

Stayed here with family for a family reunion. The chalets are dirty, when we arrived there were M&Ms and hair ties on the floor, so it had not been cleaned which is disturbing during a pandemic. Also the blinds are all broken, the furniture is outdated and broken, there are ants in the kitchen and hair stuck to the walls in the bathroom. read more

I am leaving a review in reference to the RV side of the resort. It is quiet, has a great security, has a dog park, and the WiFi is fairly good. It also offers 2 swimming pools, a basketball court as well as a tennis court... BUT, those are only for the chalet guests. We were told that as a RV guest, the latter amenities weren't available to us. We left the front office feeling like a substandard, unappreciated guest. It is great for the older visitors who are there for the casino, but for those with children still at home or grandchildren traveling with you, be aware of this tidbit of info. It can be a game changer if you're a planning an extended stay. Especially when the amenities are there but you have to tell your children/grandchildren they can't use them. read more

This use to be a good place to go but save your money and find somewhere else to go. These spots use to come with access to the pools and everything but now nothing. The bad part is they don't tell you anything and you pack up everything just to get there and then your family has nothing to do. Stay away!! read more

Nice RV resort. Long pull throughs. You can stay hooked up. Cable. 50amp. $20 per night, AARP or Good Sam's discount. And if you play enough, they'll comp your stay. They have shuttle service to and from the casino. 25 miles north of I-10. Great place to stay for a night or two. read more

Great RV park with huge drive through sites. Park is maintained great. Have a dog agility park for the mutts Prices are too high on the weekends because they can take advantage of the casino people. The park has hundreds of sites and a laundry facility that is ridiculous. 3 washers and 2 dryers working. Fix this! Pool was very nice. I had to take a swim. WiFi is a joke I have to give three stars cause they charged us $20 a night since it was our first time. We did come during the week and not in the weekend. They have a fishing pond but I doubt any fish were in there. We did not choose this park on our return trip due to the $45 a night for weekend. We stayed in a Good Sam park off I10 read more

I stayed for my dogs. Wouldn't do it again. I got two of the pet-friendly chalets. They were both very well worn and not very well maintained. It was so bad that I found myself pleasantly surprised when I found things that worked. The noise from the AC unit is horrible -- very loud. The curtains and blinds in the living room do not block light at night, but it doesn't matter because the fold out sofa was so uncomfortable it made me think of a cot in a concentration camp. But the bed was also not comfortable and was so noisy, sounded like it had a plastic cover on it -- but it didn't. Now on the other hand, the Coushatta Casino was gorgeous, clean and well maintained. The Red Shoes RV Resort doesn't get the attention it needs. read more

My review is in reference to the chalets. I've been frequenting their chalets for about 10 years now...they are mini mobile homes with a living room, kitchen, small bathroom with a shower only and a bedroom. The sofa has a pullout double bed so they sleep 5 comfortably. Each chalet has an attached front deck with a picnic table and your own charcoal BBQ pit. They are quite pleasant for travelers like myself that gets tired of hotel rooms. There is a large pond stocked with fish for those who like to fish and a volleyball net and basketball court. It's always super quiet. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because lately I've been having to go to the office and request supplies that have been forgotten to be stocked by housekeeping (bath towels, coffee, paper towels and dish liquid). Other than that...it's great and will continue to stay here during my business travels. read more

Have stayed 3 times while traveling through Louisiana. Very large pull through concrete sites, level, with tables, (big rig friendly even when you are towing). Shuttle service to and from the casino is excellent @ no charge. Very nice large pond in the park, I plan on fishing when we have the time next visit . Security is fabulous, they cruise all hours throughout the park which is well lighted. Very safe while walking the dogs. 4 stars only because of the wifi. read more

We are debating staying here as the reason we were taking this resort into consideration is for our 9yr old daughter. We drove out to inspect the place before we made a commitment. The rv area is nice and the pull throughs are large, clean and seem very well kept. There are trees but they look as though they give minimal shade which every rver knows is important in the summertime. We were really excited about kids quest. Upon getting the tour we were told about 50% is either broken or just not working. What a bummer. Why pay 9.50 an hour if most is broken and the area is very messy. 4.75 should be the new price which is half just like the amount of amenities our daughter gets to enjoy. In order to get to the dream pool with a cart that you bring to get around, you travel behind the casino which is adorned with loading docks, garbage cans, broken fencing and what ever other ugly turn off u can thank of. Bushes maybe? I'm willing to spend money for seven days there but now I'm not so sure. Only reason we may force ourselves to go there is because our daughter was looking so forward to it considering how the web site makes it sound so amazing. I will never understand why rv resorts don't get that if the children are happy and tired at the end of the day the parents are happy. Happy parents means more money. read more

We always stay here if at all possible. It's safe, clean and friendly. The Coushautta Casino mini-buses are great for ferrying you back and forth so you can enjoy the whole Coushautta experience without driving yourself over to, what can be, a crowed parking lot at times. The very nice full concrete drive-thru large spots have a generous concrete patio area and they are level with a slight incline. We have a 36' fifthwheel and didn't have any limitations. As well, I saw many "Big Boy Double Axle" A-Class coaches not having any problems getting in and out. They have a pool too. If you're a walker/jogger, you'll really enjoy the vast and safe area available to you. There are some back-in spots available as well. They also rent Chalets (small mobile homes). So, if friends care to visit, those are available as part of the park. This is a fantastic RV park. The only reason I didn't give them Five Stars is for the poor WIFi service. It is almost non-existent. The savings grace is good cable tv and very good LTE cell service in the area. read more

We had driven 3 hours to get there, upon arrival at 1, was told Chalet/room not ready that guaranteed check in is at 4, that housekeeping has not released room. we could try again in a while to see if open, if not come back at 4. our family were staying in the RV park directly across from the unit that we were to be given, so we stayed there. Family had been there since day before said that no one had been there. So we sat there from 1 to 4 and not one person came to the unit. Went to check in at 4 10 and they said that room was not ready and continue to wait. Frustrated we said give us another room and give that room to someone else when they arrive. They said they were booked and we would have to wait and move aside so they could help someone else. That housekeeping would release the room. Needless to say, until we got upset .... did anyone even try to call housekeeping to see what was going on....... We could hear on the radio, that it was not on housekeeping schedule. If they would have taken time to simply call housekeeping when we were there the first time, this could have been remedied earlier. After a long wait we had had enough and were leaving and want to cancel the stay without being charged, They told us we had to call reservations. Seriously! this is how you deal with your business shortcomings? So Coushatta you lost a visitor to the site and the casino and restaurant. Back to Golden Nugget, this place does not care about its customers or they are just too lazy to pick up a phone to see if they could help us. read more

I stayed here for a girls weekend. I booked this with the expectation of 4 passes to the the Dream Pool area which is the main amenity for non gamblers (lazy river, swim up bar, waterslides). Upon check in I was informed of the policy change that RV campers are no longer allowed access to this amenity and are only given the use of the campground pool. The Dream Pool was the main reason we booked this location, and no mention of this policy change was given when I called 2xs before we showed up to ask other various questions. RVer's also do not have the option of purchasing a pass for the Dream Pool either. You must stay at a chalet (which is a bonafide trailer) or in the hotels (which without comps have outrageous rates on the weekend) Trying to make the best of the trip we hung out and made use of the RV pool. There is a covered patio with tables and chairs that many people used. According to the Lodge employees this pool was for paying guests and members only and you must have a wrist band to use the pool. Of the 20 or so people in the pool only about 6 actually had bands. And upon chatting with some of the individuals using the pool (who admitted they were not guests of the resort), it became apparent the folks who live in the area use it as a community pool and come for the day. There is no resort staff monitoring who uses the pool. But the security guard shows up at 8PM to tell you the pool is closed. There is no resort staff monitoring guests coming or going from the campground either. The RV resort grounds are looking kind of sad. The grass needed mowing. I don't know what was once in the giant hole surrounded by caution tape but it was rather unsightly. The pool had a broken ladder. The tennis courts were weedy and the nets were in sad shape. The horse shoe spots were overgrown. The pool table in the lodge only has 2 pool sticks and one of them is broken. There was litter and the sidewalks needed edging where the grass was over taking them. The bath facilities were at least clean. The RV sites are paved and all of them are pull through sights. There is not a lot of shade, but full hookups and a picnic table at each site. The shuttle service to/from the casino is prompt and free. The casino is a smoking facility but has a non smoking section. You have to run thru the smoking section to get to it. There are restaurants in the casino also, but once again you have to pass through the smoking sections to get to them. The live entertainment/music venue shut down at 11PM on Thur night. The casino is in the middle of nowhere 20 miles north of I-10 so expect to drive a ways to find other things to do. Overall the stay was just underwhelming and my level of expectation for an RV resort was completely unmet. I don't have any reason to return. read more

Excellent RV resort. Great amenities. Shuttle will take you to the casino. RV sites are spacious; long pull-thrus, paved, 50 amp service. Inexpensive during the week. We paid $20/night. Prices higher on the weekend. Park us well maintained. Nice dog park for our furry friends. read more
